My Go-To Micellar Water
I was so lucky to receive COSRX's new Micellar Water as a #lykotestpilot 🤩 As a reference, I have combination skin and have really struggled with perioral dermatitis around my mouth in recent months. Oil cleansers can therefore be a bit too heavy, so it was perfect to test the cleansing water from COSRX. The bottle itself is large and holds a lot of product. I was a bit worried that the bottle would leak in my toiletry bag, but it hasn't done that at all 👍🏼 Here are the benefits I've experienced with the product: ⭐️ Effectively removes all makeup, both face and eye makeup ⭐️ Fragrance-free and gentle on the skin, doesn't feel tight afterwards. ⭐️ Doesn't irritate my perioral dermatitis (big plus) ⭐️ Doesn't clog pores ➖ One downside is that the product can sting a bit in the eyes when removing mascara. I use a mascara that is quite difficult to remove (Glöd Volume & Lengthening Mascara) and therefore have to rub a bit to get it off (I even have to do that with oil cleanser). You don't need to cleanse your skin any further after use, but I do it anyway as I like to double cleanse. I had the opportunity to test this micellar water and wow! I have acne-prone skin for reference and am currently taking acne medication that dries out my skin and makes it more sensitive. ✨ My first impression is a sleek bottle with a lot of product in it (!!) I have previously used the slightly cheaper micellar waters from Garnier and was initially skeptical due to the small price difference. 💅🏼 But, incredibly good product. ⭐️ Has no scent and is light and nice on the skin. (In comparison to Garnier, this feels more watery and lighter). ⭐️ Does not clog pores, which is a big plus. ⭐️ Skin feels smooth and not tight at all. ⭐️ The product really does the job and removes all makeup very easily, making it last longer!! The only negative I have to say is that it can sting a little in the eyes when removing eye makeup. The sting is not unbearable and goes away pretty quickly in my opinion, but still worth mentioning. I've seen several people mention this. So, if you're looking for a micellar water that works well for sensitive eyes with eye makeup, this might not be your best friend. Gentle Cleansing
I have been testing this micellar water for a few weeks now and wanted to share how the product has worked for my skin. To give some background, I have combination skin myself, but not particularly sensitive. Normally, I use a water-based gel cleanser (and oil-based first if I’ve worn makeup), and I haven’t used micellar water before. My first impression was that the packaging felt luxurious, and you also get a lot of product in the large bottle. 🎀 My experience has been very positive, I think it delivers on its promises - cleanses gently and suits my combination skin. It has been perfect to use on days when I haven’t worn makeup, but still want a light cleansing that doesn’t dry out. I can find that my regular water-based cleanser dries out a bit, especially during the winter. 💦 It removed makeup well, though it took a bit longer to remove the mascara. Therefore, I prefer to double cleanse with my regular oil-based cleanser when I’ve worn a lot of makeup. But if you’re looking for a gentle cleansing, and maybe don’t wear mascara every day, this does its job! It doesn’t get 5 stars just because it doesn’t remove the mascara as effectively as I expected. A challenger to Garnier..?
I was lucky to get to test this micellar water! I was a bit skeptical about what to expect, as I have tried my share of micellar waters and makeup removers. The product has little to no scent. That's not a problem for me, as long as the product does what it's supposed to. The bottle is solid and has a sleek appearance. It's important to screw the top back on properly after removing the seal, I noticed it leaked a bit. It hasn't happened again after tightening 👌🏼 I wanted to test how it removed mascara first. It absolutely did, easily too, but with accompanying stinging and discomfort in my eyes afterward. Maybe I'm sensitive, but I don't experience that with Garnier. The big plus for me is that it removes skin makeup so effectively and well!!👌🏼☺️ Leaves no residue, and the skin doesn't feel oily or dry. I have rosy cheeks, but this seems to tone that down, that's my impression. Haven't reacted negatively yet, neither acne nor irritation 💫 Here Garnier has a strong competitor! I bought the Cosrx Original Clear Pads a few weeks ago and have been using them 1 time/day focusing on my nose and chin since I am acne-prone and get pimples there. But with this product, I have noticed a big difference, my skin both looks and feels much cleaner 👌❤️ There are 70 pads that are generously infused with product, one textured side and one softer side, as well as a small tongs to pick up the pads with. I've used several bottles of this, and I buy it over and over again! Not only does it remove makeup, but it also doesn't dry out the skin<3 PERFECT for sensitive skin, and the skin feels soft and comfortable after use. I also feel that it hydrates the skin after use. Mild but cleansing
I use micellar water as a cleanser every day and have done so for many years. I have had a small sink in the bathroom, so even if I want to wash with something else, it only works if I shower, otherwise I have used Garnier's micellar water and that is the one I compare with. First, I want to mention the size of this product; you get a lot of product for the money! The water itself feels gentler on the skin than Garnier. A bit like it goes a little towards the oily side without being oil, if anyone understands. Cleansing-wise then? I have found that Garnier has beaten the well-known good Bioderma in effectiveness, and I think CosrX is very close to Garnier. The last little bit I actually think is just because it IS gentler on the skin, and I can take that! Which one will I buy going forward? It probably depends on the condition of my skin. I think Cosrx might be a little better for me, but Garnier's price is hard to beat. I would say I continue to hold them both in high regard! A little background on my skincare routine. For over 10 years, I have been using Lancôme's skincare products serum, Lancôme Renergie Multi-Lift Ultra, and face water. Absolutely I love Lancôme serum and face water. Lancôme's face cream did not give the results I expected. The cream melted quickly and did not get sticky, and the scent was really nice. But with lifting it did not help (against signs of aging) nor against fine lines. Maybe Lancôme face cream is not for me. … and testing a new micellar cleansing water 🤗 Me and Garnier's micellar cleansing water go waaaaaay back, but Lyko had their ”Idol campaign” where you could buy discontinued products at a low price, and I thought it was time to try something new! I haven't tried anything from cosrx before (other than a drop of snail slime serum-ish and got nauseous from the consistency 🤤), but the first impression of this is good! Feels gentle but seems to pick up some residue from the face anyway. I will do some comparisons and test on a few different levels of cleanliness on my face ☺️ It's definitely a HUGE package, and if you want to use the bottle when the product is empty, you can peel off the label and re-label it. A must when I get breakouts! (On my face) I get it now and then thanks to my medications that clash with my hormones. The packages are quite annoying to open if you don't use scissors, it gets frayed and uneven and hard to open afterwards.. You can tell I'm struggling to find something negative about the product..? So, other than that, I love them! They cover up the pimples a bit, until they have absorbed what they need to. They protect the pimples from becoming more infected, and they heal much faster. I used to get dark spots after pimples, but with these, there are very rarely spots. I like that they come in different sizes unlike many other pimple patches. In the last picture, there are 3 days difference from the top to the bottom picture, in the second picture I just put the patches on. Without them, it would have taken me at least a week to get rid of such a pimple. I get a little anxious when I have less than 3 packages in my bathroom cabinet.. A must for me, simply put.
