Bio-Oil can work on some types of scars on the body, but it is generally not the best option for treating acne scars on the face. It contains quite heavy oils (e.g. isopropyl myristate) as well as fragrances and essential oils, which can irritate the skin or trigger new breakouts in some people. Treatments for acne scars often work better with, for example, azelaic acid, retinoids, or mild acids, as they can improve skin texture and pigment changes over time. However, if you want to use oil, apply a small amount as the last step and gently press it into the skin instead of rubbing. I use this every morning and evening and can really see a big difference. I've been using it for over 3 years and it never fails to surprise me.
