    Good beginner RetinAl

If you're not used to using stronger retinoids, start with this one and work your way up to the 10.

    Swollen above the eyes

Hey! I tried this for the first time and the morning after I saw that I was swollen on the eyelids/under the eyebrows. Is it normal to become this as a new user? Now I don't dare to try it again as I'm unsure if I will become so swollen again that my eyelids hang. It lasted for at least a day.

Hey Maya 👋🏼🤍 Oh no, that doesn't sound good at all, it sounds like you're reacting to some ingredient in the product. I advise you not to use the product 🤍 If you want tips on other products from our experts, I would highly recommend doing our skin test 👇🏼 You can find it here: lyko.com/sv/beauty-scan2 Take care! 🥰

    Question

Hi. I was thinking about maybe clicking this home, but I wonder what ingredients to avoid applying with it so it doesn't trigger. Can you just use it at night without any cream afterwards, or might you get dry? I use it from effaclar M la Roche posay Thanks in advance for the answer 🤔

Hey How fun that you’re interested in this beauty Ingredients to be a bit careful with when using in the same routine as this are active ingredients like BHA/AHA acids. High concentrations of Vitamin C should also be approached with caution. But they work really well to have in different routines. I absolutely recommend using a moisturizing cream on top! Also, it’s important to use SPF during the day, as the skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight when using retinol Take care and good luck!

Use with Eucerin DP Triple Effect Cleans Gel

Hi! 😊 I use Eucerin DP Triple Effect Cleans Gel every morning and evening apoteket.se/produkt/eucerin-dp-triple-effect-clean-400-ml-flaska-1570553/ It contains 2% salicylic acid I would like to start adding retinal in the evening, but should I have a different cleansing gel then?

Hey there Una! 👋 It can be a bit strong for the skin to combine a cleanser that contains salicylic acid with a retinal serum. One tip could be to use these different nights of the week under different routines. On the nights you apply the retinal serum, you could instead use a milder cleanser beforehand 🥰 Have the best! 😊❄️

A little uncertainty before I start with it!

I'm going to Asia in 4 weeks, is it smarter for me to start using this after the trip? I have dry and sensitive skin, with pigmentation spots from previous acne and occasional issues with hormonal breakouts. I use SPF 50, but I'm wondering what is best, should I wait to use it until after the trip or can I take it with me on the trip but continue to be careful with SPF?

    World's best retinol serum!

I have sensitive and combination skin. Dry so I flake around my eyes, lips, and under my nose. Oily on cheeks, forehead, and chin with a slight tendency to break out in pimples. This retinol works great for me. Fragrance-free, gentle, but makes a difference☀️ Doesn't dry out, but keeps pimples away. Plus, I get incredibly smooth skin from it. I really miss it now that I'm pregnant☀️

    Night Cream

I warmly welcome tips on which night cream to use after this 🙏🏻 My skin: pigment changes and often outbreaks of my urticaria. Dry to combination skin.

  • It’s not possible to upload a review

I have now tried to upload a review for this product for a week, both in the app and on the website, with and without pictures.... In the app, a message comes up saying "something went wrong", on the website a red cross appears. I have never experienced this before, at first I thought there was something wrong that day, but it has continued in the same way. Why??

I usually have problems getting a notification that, for example, Lyko has posted something. When I go to that notification, I end up on a completely empty page. Or yeah, everything looks normal except that there isn't a single product image or text. Very annoying, I get curious 😂

    Question

Hi, how should you use this for a week in conjunction with exfoliation? Should you split it up, and how?

Hey Jonna If you’re using an exfoliating product like a BHA or AHA, use it on the days you’re not applying A-Game. For example, exfoliate on Monday, use retinal on Tuesday. It’s good if you apply A-game, which contains retinal, in the evening as it makes the skin extra sensitive to sunlight. Don’t forget to use a moisturizing cream to avoid drying out the skin after these products Regardless, it’s good to use sunscreen Have it BEST! ❤️

    Usage

Can you use this under the eyes?
    1727 views
    • I would say it completely depends on your tolerance. Personally, I have no issues at all with having this under my eyes. This version isn't that strong either, and I think it could work even for a beginner, but start cautiously a couple of times a week if that's the case. There are many eye creams that contain retinol and retinal (like this one), so it's not a no-no in that sense 😊 But as I said, be careful if you're sensitive or a beginner with retinol/retinal. Good luck!

Geek & GorgeousA-Game 5 Retinal Serum 30 ml

Description
Ingredients

A silky, lightweight emulsion containing a medium-strength amount of retinal to help against all signs of ageing while being gentle on the skin.
Retinal is the "big brother" molecule of the better known anti-aging superstar, retinol. While retinol needs two metabolic conversion steps to reach the active form, retinoic acid, retinal is the direct precursor only one conversion step away from the active form the skin cells understand. It is estimated that retinal can convert more than 10x more efficiently to retinoic acid than retinol, making retinal an outstandingly effective member of the retinoid family (vitamin A family).
Once converted, retinal helps the skin cells to produce more collagen and other structural elements, making the skin more youthful, firm and elastic. It also speeds up the renewal process of the upper skin layers making it smoother and more even. A-Game is a smart-aging must-have, but it is also useful as an adjacent product for fading pigmentation, as well as helping acne-prone skin.
In terms of strength and knowledge, Geek & Gorgeous would compare their 0.05% retinal serum to the strength and knowledge of a 0.5% retinol product but with less irritation potential and possibly quicker results.
Cruelty-free | Vegan | Fragrance & Essential oil free | Gluten-free
Suitable for anyone who is looking to try out Retinal in their skincare routine. However the texture of this product is more suitable for combination and oily skin.
💘 Why we love it: This product is really a fantastic introduction to reducing skin damage such as pigmentation, wrinkles and lack of glow. Its silky formula is not drying and quickly gives results.
Perfect for: If you are looking to start using a retinoid - start here. Great for acne, wrinkles, pigmentation and over all skin health.
Texture: Yellow light weight cream.
Scent: No fragrance or perfume, smells of nothing.

KEY INGREDIENTS
Retinal (0.05%):  An anti-aging superstar ingredient that is the direct precursor of retinoic acid (the active form that the skin cells understand) and shows an outstanding activity/tolerance ratio among topical retinoids.
Allantoin & Panthenol: A classic ingredient duo known for their skin soothing and skin protecting abilities.
Biosaccharide Gum-1:  A carbohydrate molecule that has nice skin soothing and moisturizing abilities and makes A-Game even more gentle and silky.

Use:
Apply a pea sized amount to face in the PM! In your evening routine, apply liquid and gel-type products first (for example a toner or other serums) then A-Game. Follow with a moisturiser. Wear a sunscreen SPF 30 or higher in the morning.
If your skin is sensitive, start using A-Game every other day and if well-tolerated, move up to every evening in two weeks. You can try using A-Game around the eye area, but pay attention not to rub it into your eyes.
Do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding!
Good to know: A-Game has a bright yellow color due to the retinal in it. Based on our experience, it dissipates on the skin and does not leave a yellow tint on surfaces.
