    Bra retinol, bra pris!

Gillar dennna retinol väldigt mycket, den gör sitt jobb och känns inte kletig eller obekväm på huden. #lykoreview

The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion – evens skin tone and fine lines with a gentler retinoid formula

Retinoids are known for improving skin texture, but many avoid them due to the risk of irritation. The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion is developed to provide the well-known benefits of retinoids in a milder formula, making it a great option for those who want to work on fine lines, uneven skin tone, and dull skin. The serum has a light, creamy emulsion texture that absorbs quickly without feeling greasy or sticky. A few drops are applied in the evening after water-based serums and before face cream. The formula contains Granactive Retinoid along with encapsulated retinol, which helps improve skin texture and gives a smoother, clearer complexion over time while being designed to be gentler than traditional retinol. One thing to keep in mind is that the product should only be used in the evening and daily sun protection is important because retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to the sun. The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion is best suited for those who want to introduce a mild retinoid into their skincare routine and work on fine lines, uneven skin texture, and more radiance over time.

    Serum pairing recommendation?

Can you recommend a good water based serum to use underneath this to hydrate and prevent irritation? Ll

Hello Erin! 👋 Absolutely! A great option is The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5. It’s a lightweight serum that provides hydration and helps support the skin barrier, making it a perfect match underneath Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion to help minimize dryness and irritation 💧 lyko.com/sv/the-ordinary/the-ordinary-hyaluronic-acid-2-b5 Take care! 🩷

    Store in the refrigerator?

Hi! ☺️ I saw on the packaging that this serum should be stored in the refrigerator. I've kept it in the fridge at home, but I wonder what happens if you don't keep it in the fridge? ☺️ It gets a bit difficult when, for example, you are traveling ✨😸

Hi Åsa 😊 If the serum has ever been left out at room temperature, it doesn’t necessarily mean it has gone bad right away. What mainly can happen is that the active ingredient gradually loses some of its effectiveness faster than planned. If the product has been stored cool, dark, and not exposed to heat or direct sunlight, there’s usually no reason to worry, so it works just as well as with proper storage! Have a great day! 🌼 Please continue to store it in the fridge going forward to give the product the best possible shelf life and effect.

    Product combo

Hi! Can this product be used together with these? ☺️

Hello there Åsa! 👋 Yes, they work really well together. They complement each other nicely 🩷 Hyaluronic acid moisturizes the skin and reduces the risk of dryness from the retinoid, while niacinamide helps to soothe the skin and balance sebum production 👌 A good way to use them is to apply hyaluronic acid first, then niacinamide, and finish with the retinoid in the evening. If you have sensitive skin, you can start by using the retinoid every other evening and see how your skin reacts! Don’t forget to use SPF during the day, as retinoids make the skin more sensitive to the sun 🌞 All the best!

In what order do I combine retinoid and argireline

Hi! I bought this and understood that I should follow my usual routine but insert this between essence and moisturizer. So cleansing - essence - retinoid - moisturizer (+spf), but I also use Argireline solution 10% from The Ordinary, where in the routine should I put it?😬

Hello Sanna! 😊 The evening routine works best with cleansing, essence, then Argireline Solution 10% first (spot treat the areas you want to focus on), then let the serum absorb for at least 30 seconds before applying Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion and finishing with moisturizer ✨ In the morning, you can do cleansing, essence, Argireline, moisturizer, and SPF. Feel free to wait a little between each step so the products can absorb. This is a great routine to even out lines and get firmer skin! 💖

    Retinol summer...

Hey! I use this in my skincare routine, but I read that many say you shouldn't use retinol in the summer. I thought it was okay if you use it in the evening and have sunscreen during the day? Then I'm wondering if that's the case, I was thinking of using something else and am looking into GF solution or multi peptide + HA. Is that a good swap and which is smarter if you want anti-aging and a more even skin tone? Thanks for being here so we can ask. 💖

Hi Maria 😊 You can absolutely use retinoids year-round if your skin is used to it and you use UV protection – it’s not a problem in the summer, but it’s more about being extra careful with the sun so you especially don’t get sunburned (which triggers pigmentation and you have to pause all active products). And if you want to counteract pigmentation as you wish, the most important thing is to stay completely away from the sun - with a big sun hat 👒 If you still want to pause, peptides (Multi-Peptide) are good for elasticity and lines, but they don’t affect skin tone that much. GF Solution works more on skin quality and repair, but it’s also not so targeted towards pigment. If you want something that works both anti-aging and gives a more even skin tone, I would invest in, for example, a serum with vitamin C. They also have a really good serum specifically for pigmentation that contains Alpha arbutin. Good luck 🤍

    Combination with other products

Hi! I’m 25 years old and am now starting to consider using retinol, but I’ve been very unsure since I’m afraid my skin will get damaged. That’s why it feels like this could be a good start and maybe the one I should stick to since my skin is quite sensitive. My question is whether I can combine this with other products that I use. My routine looks like this: 🫧 Cleansing: Round Lab Birch Juice 💧 Toner: Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner 🧪 Serum: Pyunkang Yul Moisture Serum 🧴 Cream: Pynunkang Yukons ATO Cream Blue Label ☀️ Sunscreen: SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyaluronic Acid-Cica Water When I’m extra dry: Purito Ceramide Sleeping Pack When I’m less dry, I use Purito Oat-in Calming Gel Cream as a moisturizer instead of Pyunkang’s. I have a lot of skin pigmentation from pimples and generally have an uneven skin tone, so I’m considering trying AXIS-Y Dark spot Correcting Glow Serum in my skincare routine. Is there anything that could go with this product from The Ordinary and the rest of my routine? I’m also wondering if there’s any eye cream that goes with it? I’ve been testing SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica for a week now but I’m not quite sure what to think yet. Sorry for the long post and many questions, but this is such a jungle to navigate haha. Take care 🩷

Hey Hanna😊 So nice that you’re writing to us with your thoughts, and I understand that it feels like a jungle🙈 The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 2% is a gentle start for sensitive skin and can help with uneven skin tone and pigmentation. Start with 1-2 evenings a week and increase slowly. Apply after toner, before serum and cream. If dryness occurs, you can skip serum on some evenings or add extra moisture like Purito Ceramide Sleeping Pack. AXIS-Y Dark Spot Serum can be used on other evenings or in the morning, which reduces the risk of irritation. An eye cream like SKIN1004 Probio-Cica works well, just avoid retinoid around the eyes. And don’t forget sunscreen every morning, retinoid makes the skin more sun-sensitive🌞 Hope the answer can be helpful and that you have a super nice day🤍

I recently started using the product and apply it in the evening. Should I use a moisturizing night cream after this? Grateful for a response!

Hey Ina! 😊 You can use this every evening if you've used retinoids before and have sensitive skin. It might be good to start gradually and see how your skin reacts, for example, 2-3 evenings a week to start with. Remember to use sunscreen during the day. Have a nice day! 💌

A Stable Emulsion of Next-Generation Forms of Retinoid.

This formulation combines two forms of next-generation retinoid actives in a combined concentration of 2% by weight.

These two actives are:
a) Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate is a highly-advanced form of retinoid which is, in fact, a non-prescription ester of all-trans direct retinoic acid that offers a multi-fold better effect against signs of ageing than retinol, retinyl palmitate and nearly all other forms of non-prescription retinoid;
b) a sustained-delivery form of pure retinol in a protective capsule system which supports both the delivery and the effect of Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate.
Both forms of retinoid used avoid the irritation associated with retinoid (including retinol) use while delivering better visible results against signs of ageing.

Use:
Apply a few drops to face in the PM as part of your skincare regimen. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Use sun protection in the AM.
