It is true that this is also called sulfate, but because it is a very gentle sulfate this ingredient is approved in no-sulfate products. Something has to replace the other sulfates to get the hair clean, and Sodium Coco Sulfate is a mild and approved alternative to the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. I hope this clears things up :)
