Former Roaccutan & Differin user. SUPER HAPPY with this now long after medical treatment!
I was honestly quite skeptical about this product since I have previously used both Roaccutan and Differin gel for severe acne. It's been about 10 years since then, and I already noticed about 3 years ago that the ultra-fine skin I got from medical treatment started to fade. Lots of small bumps all over my face, nodular acne, and larger pores around my nose. So I bought this serum after trying The Ordinary's retinol products, which unfortunately didn't work at all for me. And I notice a real difference now in my skin as long as I keep using it regularly! Shrunk pores, less small acne everywhere, and generally a "fresher" look to the skin! Also really like the gel consistency. Quick advice: If you've tried it and noticed you suddenly get more acne, don't panic and stop using the product! Retinol products (like Roaccutan, Differin, and this one) ARE supposed to have that effect because it means the retinol is working to speed up skin renewal. It gradually decreases, and then you'll have the best skin ever! The INCI list shows ingredients in descending order—niacinamide usually ranks relatively high while retinol often appears further down. A good tip is to start with 2–3 nights per week using a pea-sized amount on dry skin, follow up with moisturizer, and always use SPF during the day. Take care of yourself 🌼1 likes

Oil-based cleansing before this?
I wash my face with jojoba oil in the evenings. Can I use this serum after that or would it be wrong and I wouldn’t be able to absorb the serum? What’s good to keep in mind is that the skin should preferably be free of oil residues before applying retinol, otherwise it can be harder for the serum to be properly absorbed. If you feel there’s a film left after cleansing, you can, for example, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water or wipe off with a damp towel so that the skin feels clean but not tight. Saw the video with the nighttime routine here on your page including this product & clicked on the 3-product combination, but is there a daytime routine for the morning? - & how often should I include retinol in the routine as a beginner? Never tried retinol or other serums etc. before as I have sensitive, partly oily & acne-prone skin that I am so incredibly tired of & that gives me low self-confidence… The prescription acne cream doesn’t work & I currently cleanse & moisturize with LaRoschePosay’s products (large pump bottles cleanser & Effaclar K(+) on the pharmacy’s recommendation), is it okay to continue using the face cream in combination with these products or do I need to dare to try another (Ceraves) with SPF? Hi! I have some acne scars and want to give retinol a try. Which day cream with SPF can I combine with retinol? I would like something that is suitable for sensitive skin and very moisturizing.
