    Vitamin D3 is formed in the skin when exposed to sunlight. We need vitamin D3 so that the body can absorb calcium for a strong and healthy skeleton. D3 plays a major role in our immune system and muscle function. Vitamin D3 is one of the most important vitamins and should be taken every day no matter how much sunlight you are exposed to. The absorption through the skin depends on skin color. Light-skinned produce five to ten times more than dark-skinned.
