Abercrombie & Fitch

I tried to keep it to myself… 🤪but I like you all too much, so I can't keep the secret any longer 🤍 Abercrombie & Fitch Away Woman EdT was mine and it’s still my favorite. Fresh, feminine, and with a warm, soft finish. Every time I wear it, I get 3–4 compliments.

Bought it on a whim. Really a bullseye. Smells just right and feels balanced.

The most Y2K-coded fragrance there is, hands down. It smells straight up like an American high school movie from the early 2000s... Think Jonathan Bennett in Mean Girls (2004), that's it! Bennett actually worked at Abercrombie & Fitch before he got the role of "Aaron Samuels" in Mean Girls (2004). The fragrance has strong citrus notes in the top notes, but it also has a relatively strong oriental element in the top with clear cardamom, but the scent of fir needles rounds it off a bit so it feels like a distinctly Western fragrance rather than oriental even though oriental elements are present. The mid notes are a pretty savory and floral blend, but rosemary and sage are noticeable. The base notes are what cements the fragrance as a pretty strongly coded men's fragrance even though it is quite unisex otherwise. It is quite bottom-heavy with very traditional masculine tones of musk, oakmoss, and wood. The base notes are classically masculine a la 70s and 80s men's fragrances. A lot of people used this in the early 2000s and all the way into the early 2010s, even in Sweden, but especially popular in the USA during Y2K. Not exactly an office scent, and very much a summer fragrance or late spring. But I personally use it a little pretty much anytime, zero effs given, one of my favorite fragrances ever. The fragrance has great performance and sillage for being an EdC, but it is an EdC! After 5 hours, there isn't much of the scent left, but bomb the clothes full of it and it will hold, I can promise... Just like they did back in the days!
