I have always hated drying my hair. My own dryer is heavy to hold and is so loud that even the cats always run away when I pull it out. It's somehow so tiring to hold a brush in one hand and a heavy dryer in the other, so I rarely dried my hair with the dryer. Now drying my hair is so different with this dryer/styler. I have long and thick hair, and with this, drying is quick and easy. Plus, my hair isn't frizzy when styled with this. Lightweight that dries hair quickly
I was recommended this in a Facebook group when I was looking for a new hairdryer that weighed very little due to illness affecting hands/arms/shoulders. The first time I used it, I thought it was bulky and awkward and had an accessory clicked on. And I was sooooo disappointed and regretted my purchase! Now a few times later, I can half-sit on the couch and watch TV at the same time 😅 (which is a big plus for me since I’m physically weak) and blow dry my hair without problems. As long as you don’t have an accessory on, it weighs very little. And it dries hair insanely fast! Crazy that the small area where the air comes from can be so strong and effective. I have thick hair that reaches below my chest. But when you put an accessory on, it can get really hot on top if you use heat. Then you can’t have your hand/fingers on the top of the dryer, which you’d like to when using the tool to add volume. You get very smooth hair from this, and sometimes I use an accessory that looks like a regular brush, and then the hair gets straightened. It manages to straighten my “flat curls” that I only have in the underhair and back of the head. I haven’t managed volume with these accessories yet. It might be the user’s fault and not the product. 😅 But I can get nice inward-curved ends. But as many say, the hair really doesn’t get volume when using the accessories. And then it feels like you have thinner hair than you’re used to. But it’s a dream to run your hand through the hair 😍 Drying the hair goes insanely fast, even with cold air. It has 3 different blow strengths and several settings for warm or cold air. It makes very little noise, but there’s a small annoying whistling sound when you have the highest blow strength and heat on medium or high. I have extremely good hearing and am very, very sensitive to high tones, so it can be a bit annoying even if it’s not extreme. But honestly, you don’t need to use the highest heat if you’re just going to blow dry your hair, it goes so insanely fast anyway. The dogs aren’t bothered by it at all at any speed. My previous one they could be a bit grumpy about and stare at because it made too much noise. But this one they have no problem coming right next to me, and one even wants to hold it in his mouth 🤷♀️ but he’s just generally crazy. Something that’s really annoying is that it’s so long and the packaging is incredibly oversized. Even the boxes if you buy any parts. So good storage is difficult 😞 One more plus is that the cord is flexible at the attachment and the filter can be cleaned in a second. And even though it’s big, it looks quite fresh and luxurious. Not for me
The hair gets dry super fast. Even my super thick hair. But that's where the benefits of this air wand end. It makes a terribly loud noise! It whines and whistles right into my ears. It gets so hot that I burn myself on it. 😫 Also, the hair becomes static and loses volume – which isn't a problem for me since I naturally have a lot of volume. Maybe this suits someone with significantly longer hair than shoulder length better. But I still wouldn't recommend it to anyone. 😫92 views- The user's roll: Customer service at Lyko. Here are some tips that might help if you want to give it one last try (and that could be good for others with similar hair): Reduce heat and airflow, choose a lower heat and speed setting, feel free to use the hair care mode that alternates between warm and cold air, and finish each section with cold air to lock in the shape and reduce static electricity. Blow-dry until about 70–80% dry, work in narrow sections, and hold the tool on the insulated parts. A light heat-protective leave-in and a bit of anti-frizz or serum in the lengths can also help with dry and static hair. Work briefly at the roots with the oval brush for volume without staying too long in the same spot, so you avoid both heat damage and volume loss. High-speed motors can be loud, so use a lower speed when possible and clean the filter regularly, which can reduce whistling noise. No no no - spend the money on another product 💸 My hair would be less frizzy if my dog scratched at it until it was dry. With the nozzle for volume, my hair got dry pretty quickly (hence a little extra cost). Best drier for my hair!
