TIPS & TRICKS:
This product works by releasing the molecules of the colored hair, and occasionally, if the hair isn't rinsed out thoroughly, remnants of the old hair dye might stick around and cause a smell.
That's why it's crucial to rinse your hair properly for 5 minutes if it's short and 10 minutes if it's long and thick, as recommended in the instructions.
Caught with lingering odors? Don't worry, we've got you covered with some handy tricks.
To banish any persistent smells from your hair, try the following concoction:
1. Combine 10% water-soluble baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) with 90% water and leave it in your hair for 5-10 minutes.
2. Next, apply an acid-based solution to acidify your hair, such as 5% white vinegar (acetic acid) or 5% lemon juice (citric acid) mixed with 95% water. Allow this solution to do its thing for 3 to 5 minutes, then rinse your hair out well.
This step will produce carbon dioxide gas, which helps remove the chemicals that cause that nasty smell in your hair.
3. Lastly, wash your hair with your usual shampoo.

21 hoursNot what I expected…
So I had a whim to get rid of my red hair and try to go back to a more “natural” hair color, i.e., back to my Scandinavian original color. I know it wouldn’t go back after one time, but I thought all the red would wash out, and then I could put a toner on afterward. But no. It feels a bit pointless to have held on for so long with the stench, plastic wrap, and heat (three things I have such a hard time with) for a nonexistent result. I do NOT recommend this product. (And no, I didn’t buy the product through Lyko but at Ica, but it’s exactly the same product)3 likes224 viewsThereseR
6 hoursI've heard that it has a dreadful scent… But I think it was a bit too optimistic to believe that all the red would come out in one go 😫 Red sticks like a rock, and if you've also had the color for a long time, in many rounds, it's even harder 😁 You'll probably have to do more bleaching and expect that your hair will have a bit of a yellow tint, but you can solve that with a cool toning or color later ❤️ Check with Lyko's hair test to get help from the hairdressers here

Customer service at Lyko1 weekHey Charlotte, thank you for taking the time to review! If the hair has been dyed many times before, some parts of the hair may have more layers of color pigment than others. This can cause the color to deposit unevenly. Sometimes you may need to repeat the treatment to achieve a more even and uniform result If the hair is a bit damaged or bleached beforehand, it may be more porous and react faster to the bleaching than healthy, untreated hair. This can be a contributing factor to the result feeling uneven/splotchy ❤️ Fingers crossed that you get it to turn out the way you want

Hi. I've had red hair since summer and would like to switch back to brown. Does this product work to remove the redness so I can dye it brown?1 likes484 viewsMaria
Customer service at Lyko2 weeksHi Milla! I think one package is enough. But Lyko has a 14-day free return policy for unopened products, in case you want to take two packages and return one if you don't need it. 🥰✨

Hey!! I basically had unfinished hair with just a few highlights left at the ends, then I applied a bleach that turned out super patchy and orange. Can I use this to get rid of the color/bleach? 🤯🤲427 viewsMichaela
Customer service at Lyko2 weeksHi Christopher Bleaching can only remove color and toning. It doesn't work on bleached hair. Good luck

Hi, I have light brown hair and I dyed it dark brown because it got way too dark, black at first, and I want to get my natural hair color back. I haven't dyed it in several years. Will I get my hair color back or will the color turn orange or some other pigment that I don't want?567 viewsEmma

Customer service at Lyko1 monthHi Tiina! and thank you for your review 💖 It's really unfortunate to hear that the product didn't work as you wanted. The effectiveness of the product is very individual, and it is certainly influenced by the hair quality as well as the starting level of the color. Have a nice day! 🤖

Customer service at Lyko3 yearsHello! 😊 It is difficult to say which result you will get when using a decolorizer.😅 I asked one of our Hair-Experts and she would suggest that you try it out on a small hair strand first!👍 Then depending on what comes out, you can use a toning to neutralize the pigments. I hope this advice is helpful for you!💕 If you have any more questions, please let me know!✨
