Great product but tricky colors
As I've gotten older, my brows have gotten sparser, even though I haven't plucked them, so I wanted to try a product like this where you can draw real "hairs" and I like it! I like it a lot! But it's a bit tricky to figure out how to use it, my brows are indeed sparser now but still a bit unruly. I've found it works best if I first use a brow wax (I like the pink tube from Nyx best) where I brush my brows up, smooth them down, and shape them. Let it dry a bit and then go in with this "pen," THEN it looks great! You can draw really nice hairs! BUT the colors are difficult. They are extremely pigmented, and I, who have dark brown hair, first bought Dark brunette, but it looks almost black on me, which looks too harsh. Then I bought Light brunette but it pulls too much orange... I want an ashy brown, generally you never want brow products to be warm but rather cool in tone. Good but too dark
I like this one! The pencil is great, you can cover the whole lips or just do a contour, thin or thick depending on what you want. It gives an even color and lasts surprisingly well. I tried applying it in the evening and it looked just as good the next morning. However, the color doesn't match the product pictures in real life, I chose the color "Beigebait" and it is quite dark, TOO dark for me to use daily as I had planned. I will try to get Chai Me but it is out of stock right now. Like it but the color doesn't match
No. 30 Liquid sugar - This color leans a bit towards purple/pink so the product image doesn't match. But it's so sheer that it doesn't matter as much as I first thought. It gives a very subtle tint and dries completely matte even though it applies with some glossiness. Very thin consistency. Meh
This one had really high ratings but I'm disappointed. First the color: I bought 3N but this one is not neutral, it leans towards pink. It's also MUCH lighter than the product pictures show. I'm Scandinavian light and usually use products with names like "light" but this one is too light for me, even in winter, looks like a vampire... The consistency is thick and sluggish. Still, it covers poorly, and sure, it's a skin tint but the other similar products I have cover more. According to the description, it should feel "weightless" but it doesn't, I REALLY FEEL that I have it on, and I rarely experience that! I almost want to run and take it off... It also doesn't give any "dewy finish" whatsoever but is completely matte. Sweeter than I thought
I bought this on a whim, a little crazy I know, but I saw it at such a good price (30ml for 524kr) and it had insanely good ratings :-) And I like it, I do (my 17-year-old loves it!) but... it was sweeter than I thought, so it doesn't get a full score. I thought it would be lighter and fresher, instead it’s a bit heavier and sweeter, more floral than I expected. World's best mascara!
I am a very experienced mascara user, and tubing mascaras have quickly become my favorite! I usually have big problems with mascaras smudging on the skin under my eyebrows, but tubing doesn’t do that! I’ve tried several, thought Sensai was okay, nothing more, same with Idun, just okay. Then I tried Essence and it became my favorite, but then Maybelline released this one and it’s now the only one I use! Absolutely magical!! Gives plenty of volume, which you can build up, adds length, absolutely no flaking, doesn’t clump lashes but keeps them separated, and best of all – washes off easily with lukewarm water! No rubbing or soaking lashes to get the mascara off! BUT, if you use an eyelash curler, this won’t be for you, because the curl doesn’t hold... I have used many lash serums over the past 15-20 years, and for a long time Xlash was my favorite, but then they changed something and I used up the last tube (the big one) without noticing any difference. I now want to avoid prostaglandins, and skincare-Elvira recommended Sweed, so I took a chance. And WOW, I’m so happy I did, because now I have lashes that almost reach my eyebrows! I never want to be without this!! Unfortunately, I didn’t take any before pictures, but I estimate my lashes have grown at least 3-4 mm, totally crazy!! I have never experienced any side effects from any lash serum, so I seem to tolerate them well, and this one didn’t cause any either, just magically long lashes! Then I want to take the opportunity to recommend "tubing mascaras" which have been a gamechanger for me, oh so incredibly good! They give length, volume, and definition AND wash off easily with just water!! (Essence has the best!). Lash serums are often expensive, but you can sometimes find Sweed on sale now and then, and then I jump on it!! Not for me...
I had very high expectations for this, and unfortunately they were not met. My problem is that with age (50 years) I have skin that is shiny on the forehead and dry with more texture on the cheeks. No foundation I find works for my whole face, and most emphasize my texture on the cheeks, and this one did too, sigh. I am a skincare and makeup nerd (for 30 years) so I know my skin quite well and have effective routines for cleansing and moisturizing. But it doesn't matter how I do it (tried with different primers, brush, fingers, damp sponge), but no, this one becomes matte and dry on my cheeks. On the forehead, however, it works well, there I get just the right amount of glow and coverage, but that's not enough, the cheeks were a disaster so unfortunately this was a miss for me. Disappointed
This one wasn't for me, there are many others that are much better (check out the new one from Loreal, the silver one! Really good). It gives okay volume but I really have to work and work... I'm too lazy for that. The result is okay in the end but nothing more. But what makes me never want to buy it again are two things, first it's really hard to get off (big no no to have to struggle to get it off) and then it makes me completely black under my eyebrows!
