I love Kerastase, the green series smells wonderful. Curious about the serum, but I became concerned about the long ingredient list. I used to learn that silicones/dimethicones are harmful in the long run to have in the hair. That it builds up/locks in the hair strand and split ends get worse over time. What do you say about that? I see that there are many different types of silicones in this product.

I understand that the ingredient list can feel long! Silicones like dimethicone, dimethiconol, amodimethicone, and phenyl trimethicone are not automatically harmful to hair. In this serum, they help to make hair fibers smoother, add shine, reduce friction, and protect during blow-drying.
Silicones can form a coating around the hair strand, but they do not permanently “seal” the hair in. For some hair types and with frequent use, buildup can occur, which may make hair heavy, dry, or rough. In that case, a regular shampoo or, if needed, a deep-cleansing shampoo can help wash away the residue. Lyko Magazine also describes that silicones can make hair soft, smooth, and shiny, but proper cleansing is important if hair feels coated 🌿
The serum is intended for very damaged and treated hair and is used in small amounts on towel-dried hair or on dry ends. Hope this helps you decide if it suits your hair!🤍
