My girl has extremely thick hair. Coarse strands, wavy/curly and about four layers. She is extremely sensitive with her hair and has hair that loves to tangle. After a night, she usually wakes up with knots at the back of her head. She prefers natural bristle brushes because they don’t hurt as much, but natural bristle brushes don’t work so well as they don’t go through her hair. The same goes for all detangler brushes. A “regular” brush hurts and is rejected as soon as possible. This brush gets full marks from me because it’s a combination of natural bristle and “regular” brush. It doesn’t go completely through her hair, so you have to take from the top and then from underneath to reach everything, but that doesn’t matter because it works and detangles. For my thin menopausal hair, I use it as a quick comb and to separate the curls. Turns out very nice
