I want to try going dark-haired, but the color needs to wash out completely since I have salon-bleached highlights that I want to keep in case I don't like the result. Salon-bleached hair is often more porous, which means that dark pigments can adhere more strongly and leave behind an even discolored tone after the color has started to wash out. This means that the highlights don't always become completely light again. When going from light to dark, you also need to add warm pigments to avoid the hair pulling green.
