Completely OK, I have tried better shampoos that gave results faster (including Fanola or Fudge). If you have bleached your hair yellow, I would use a toner first and then this for maintenance. I have used this for several years when I want to tone my bleached hair. I put quite a bit on damp hair and let it sit for a few hours. CAUTION: Wear gloves to prevent staining or skin irritation. This product contains ingredients that may cause skin irritation on certain individuals and a preliminary test according to accompanying directions should first be made. This product must not be used for dyeing the eyelashes or eyebrows; to do so may cause blindness.
Patch test instructions: Using either soap and water or alcohol, clean a small area of skin behind the ear or on the inner surface of the forearm. Apply a small quantity of the hair dye, as prepared for use, to the area and allow it to dry. After 24 hours, gently wash the area with soap and water. If no irritation or inflammation is apparent, it may be assumed that no hypersensitivity to the dye exists. The test, however, should be carried out before each application.
