Hatomugi Essence 500 ml
When you first see this huge half-liter bottle, it's easy to think it's something you should put in your bathwater rather than on your face. Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner is one of those products that doesn't look like much – a transparent plastic bottle with a milky white, thin liquid that looks like diluted rice water. But after using it for a few weeks, you understand why it's a staple in almost every Japanese bathroom cabinet. The first thing that strikes me is how incredibly light the texture is. It's literally like water. There's no oil, no stickiness, and no noticeable scent, making it a dream for anyone sensitive to strong perfumes or heavy creams. When I pat it into my skin, it disappears within seconds, but the interesting part is what happens afterward. The skin no longer feels tight but gets a soft and cool sensation that's very welcome, especially if you've been out in the sun or just showered in water that's too hot. The secret to this product is not to be stingy. Since the bottle is so large, I've started using it as a preparatory moisture boost for the whole body. I hold a generous amount in my hands and sweep it over my arms and legs before following up with my usual body lotion. It makes a huge difference in how soft the skin becomes. On my face, I often use it in several layers. I pat it in once, let it absorb for ten seconds, and then repeat two or three more times. This is often called layering, and it's when you really notice how the skin "drinks up" the moisture and gets a completely different glow than if you just slap on a heavy cream directly. Another thing I really appreciate is how versatile it is. On days when my skin feels extra flushed or irritated, I soak a few thin cotton pads with this skin conditioner and place them as compresses on my cheeks for five minutes. It calms redness in a way that more expensive products often fail to do. It's an extremely uncomplicated product that doesn't promise miracles for wrinkles or acne, but it does one thing fantastically well: it moisturizes and soothes without irritating. If I have to mention something negative, it's that the bottle is a bit clumsy to handle because it lacks a pump. You have to be careful not to pour half of it into the sink. Also, it's too thin to stand up on its own even if you have very dry skin; you almost always need a cream on top to lock in the moisture. But considering you get half a liter for a fraction of what a small luxury serum costs, it's hard to complain. It's the ultimate basic product that just does the job, day in and day out. It doesn't give an immediate wow effect in the form of glitter or scent, but after a while, you notice that your skin simply feels better, is less red, and feels more balanced.

Hatomugi Gel 180 g
I tested the Naturie Hatomugi Gel 180 g - face cream. The product has a light and gel-like consistency, and it absorbs quickly into the skin without a sticky feeling. It definitely works well for normal or oily skin, as well as layered with other moisturizing products. However, my own skin is surface dry, and this cream alone did not provide enough moisture. The skin felt soft for a moment after application, but soon needed more nourishment. Overall, a good basic product for those seeking light hydration, but for surface dry skin, I would recommend a richer option or a more moisturizing cream alongside it.

Hatomugi Essence 500 ml
Lovely to apply as a face mask, feels like it does its job. I temporarily store it in the fridge for a little extra cooling afterwards. 👍 reminds me a bit of face masks I have at home from Japan.
