Second skin, but better!!
This foundation gives an absolutely beautiful, flawless finish that looks like a second skin, only better!! I would describe the coverage as medium but fully buildable; you can achieve both a very natural everyday look and a more polished look without feeling heavy. In my opinion, the foundation sets a bit, but it’s still amazing to work with, doesn’t blotch, doesn’t catch during application, and spreads beautifully with both brush and sponge. Huge plus for not emphasizing dry patches and looking incredibly smooth even on less perfect skin. The effect is super light, fresh, smoothing, without a mask. The skin looks healthy, radiant, and just perfect. Worst foundation I've tested
I've been loyal to Clarins Skin Illusion for many years, but foolishly decided to try something else and saw recommendations that this one would work for dry skin, and that there are many different shades to choose from. It covers well, but you have to apply it lightning fast on the skin and can't go back and add a second layer or improve it because then it cracks and flakes off the skin in patches. If you apply quickly, you can get a barely okay result, but I still think it looks crusty. It kind of doesn't sink into the skin but sits like a film on top, and if you try to work it in, it rather flakes off the skin as mentioned. I've tried applying with sponge, foundation brush, and fingers but nothing helps. I thought maybe it wasn't compatible with my sunscreen that I used during the summer but have the same problem now that I've stopped using sunscreen.
