    Use together with niacinamide?

Hi! I have combination skin with some dryness that sometimes leads to oilier skin, even though I don't have oily skin, as well as some hormonal acne and encapsulations. I recently changed my skincare routine and stopped using the way too many active ingredients I was using. Now I have a barrier-focused skincare routine with, among other things, La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 serum and Cosrx triple hyaluronic moisture ampoule. Cleanser and day cream from CeraVe, La Roche Posay Cicaplast baume some of the week's evenings, and sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon. Long-term, I want to work on minimizing pores, lightening marks/scars from pimples, reducing breakouts, and achieving a more even skin tone. I won't introduce new products for a few weeks and will take it one step at a time, but I'm already looking at introducing peptides as the next step. Would this serum work for me to continue focusing on the barrier but help the skin in its renewal process? I'm also wondering if this serum would work if I then, after a few more weeks, introduce Cosrx niacinamide 15 serum? I'm thinking about it since this serum also contains niacinamide, but in the long run, I would probably want a slightly stronger niacinamide product as I am very interested in its effects, which I believe would work for my problem areas 🌟

    Test again?

Hi! After spot-testing this on my arm for about 1 week where I noticed I didn't react, I started incorporating it into my skincare routine. However, I quickly noticed that small, tiny pimples appeared on my face after use. I stopped using the product after just 1 week. I am still interested in niacinamide, especially in combination with salicylic acid, which I have already been using in my routine for quite some time (also the one from The Ordinary). My question is finally whether I should have continued testing this product for more than 1 week and see if the small breakouts went away, or should I try another niacinamide product?🌸☺️

Hi Embla😊 Thank you for sharing your experience so clearly✨ Small breakouts after starting a new active product like niacinamide can sometimes be due to the skin adjusting, but it can also be a sign that that particular formulation doesn’t suit your skin. Since you’re already using salicylic acid, the combination may have become a bit too active for your skin right now. Choosing to pause after a week is wise — especially if your skin reacted immediately. One tip could be to let your skin rest for a while, and then try a milder niacinamide product (preferably with lower concentration) separately, before combining it with other active ingredients again. Ideally, try on completely different days and don’t combine. Here’s another tip to try that also has soothing properties with propolis: lyko.com/sv/beauty-of-joseon/beauty-of-joseon-glow-serum-propolis-niacinamide-30-ml Hope the answer can be helpful and that you have a super nice day🌞

    Could this be good?

Hi! I've been wanting to introduce retinol into my skincare routine for a while. I have combination skin: some areas with surface oil that can contribute to my skin becoming oily, slightly acne-prone skin, as well as small "bumps" and uneven skin tone. Right now, I wash my face in the evening with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser, follow up with a moisturizing toner from Excuviance or Cosrx, The Ordinary's Salicylic Acid 2%, and Dr Ceuracle Hyal Reyouth Night Cream. Would this retinol serum from CeraVe work in my evening routine and help with acne and unevenness, and where in the steps would it fit in? ☺️

    New formula

Hey, I have had this product before and it has always been orange in color. I received a new bottle this week and now the color of the product itself is almost completely transparent. Is the product supposed to be like this, maybe from a new formula, or is there something wrong with my product?

Hey there Embla! I understand your concern, but this like many other vitamin C serums can easily change color just because they contain these acids! ❤ Over time it can easily change color if you compare it to one you've had opened for a while. They can turn a bit yellow-orange in tone as they have come into contact with air or light🥰 No worries with the product, it's mostly a sign that it's new!
