The consistency is liquid, somewhere between water and gel. I find it a bit hard to apply because it’s so thin and runny. I left it in freshly washed hair for 2 minutes. The hair became soft, but not quite like a good regular hair mask. I also don’t think my hair got much shinier. If you don’t have time for a regular hair mask or your hair isn’t particularly dry or damaged, this one can be okay.
