It itched a bit while I was coloring my hair (probably just something with me), but otherwise it was pretty cool. But, as shown on the package, it is meant for darker hair. I, who have a fairly light brown hair color and have bleached streaks in my hair (about one year of regrowth), got quite red hair instead of a dark "cherry" as shown on the package. Not complaining, I expected this, but I recommend the color for people with dark hair as long as you don’t want quite red hair. How long does it take before it washes out? I haven't seen any direct answer on the box, and red colors usually take longer. I also bleached and dyed my hair about a year ago, and it has grown out to my ears. Casting Crème Gloss is a semi-permanent toner, so the color gradually washes out. No fixed time is given on the product page, and how quickly it fades varies with your hair and how often you wash it. You can use it on both roots and lengths, and since it is a toner, it does not lighten. Bleached hair is often more porous and absorbs more pigment, so the color may be a bit different on the roots and the previously bleached lengths. Easy to put on, not too long. But it's a bit tricky to take them out of the package without damaging them. They also look really fake if you look closely, but if you don't think about it, you don't notice. How long does it last?
I've been told that such colors fade as the hair grows out, is that true? Or does it "fade" so much that it disappears? I'm thinking about doing a "prekaboo" style with the red color, and I'm worried if it can just stay where it is. Should I consider a semi-permanent color instead? It settles into the hair strand and grows out gradually as your hair grows. If you want a peekaboo or stripe effect: Permanent red will stay in the hair until it grows out or you lighten/color over it. Semi-permanent color will color the surface and will gradually wash out after a few weeks. This gives more flexibility if you want to change the color or test a temporary look.
