For the best results in gua sha treatment, it is important to focus on the gliding motion and its direction, the appropriate pressure, and the stabilizing counter hold.

Gliding Motion
The gliding motion involves moving the gua sha tool steadily and in a controlled manner over the skin.
Direction: Always perform the gliding motion upwards or in directions that support lymphatic flow, such as from the neck towards the ear or from the center of the face outward.
Pressure: Keep the pressure light to moderate. The skin may show a slight flush, but it should never feel painful.
Angle: Hold the tool at a 15–30-degree angle against the skin, ensuring it lies flat rather than standing upright. This promotes even contact with the skin and minimizes discomfort.
- Repeat the gliding motion 5–10 times per area, based on your preference and how it feels.

Counter Hold
The counter hold helps stabilize the skin and ensures that the gliding motion remains smooth and controlled.
Technique: Use the opposite hand to gently support the area being treated. For example:
On the neck, place your fingers lightly to stabilize the skin.
On the cheeks, use your fingers to gently stretch the skin slightly, allowing the tool to glide smoothly.
Purpose: The counter hold reduces skin movement and enhances the effectiveness of the treatment, especially in areas where the skin is more delicate or prone to shifting.

Preparation:
Gently wash the gua sha tool with warm water and mild soap before the first use and after each session.

How to Use:
1. Prepare your skin: Cleanse the targeted area and apply your favorite serum or facial oil to ensure the tool glides smoothly over your skin.
2. Start with the neck: Use the long edge of the tool and gently glide it upward from the center of your neck toward your ear.
Repeat each motion 5–10 times per section, based on your preference.
3. Face:
- Jawline and cheeks: Use the curved edge of the tool and glide upward along the jawline toward your ear.
- Under-eye area: Use the smaller, rounded end and gently glide under your eye, starting at the inner corner and moving outward.
- Forehead: Glide the tool from the center of your forehead toward your temples and hairline.
Important Notes:
- Begin gently and stop if your skin shows signs of irritation. Keep the pressure light; the goal is to stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow, not to cause discomfort.

Care and Storage:
- After each use, wash the tool thoroughly with soap and water, then dry it.
- Storage tips: For the most refreshing and effective experience, store the tool in the refrigerator or place it there for at least 30 minutes before use. If the cold sensation feels uncomfortable, using the tool at room temperature works well too.
