Effective spot treatment that delivers results – perfect for blemished skin
I have tested the L’Oréal Paris Men Expert Derma Control S.O.S Spot Paste for a few weeks, both as a spot treatment and as a face mask, and the results have been surprisingly positive. The product lives up to its promise to combat blemishes and reduce the visibility of pimples. The consistency is creamy but dries quickly to a more matte surface, making it pleasant to use overnight without feeling sticky. Already after two applications, I noticed that some breakouts decreased in size and redness, which aligns well with the clinical study mentioned. What really impresses is the combination of glycolic acid and niacinamide. Glycolic acid effectively exfoliates the skin and helps to clear the pores, while niacinamide soothes the skin and reduces redness. I have sensitive skin and have not experienced any irritation, which is a big plus. As a face mask, the product gives a fresh, clean feeling afterward – the skin feels less oily and the pores appear less prominent. One downside is that it can dry out the skin a bit if used too often, especially if you have dry areas on your face. Therefore, it’s important to moisturize after use. A really good spot treatment overnight.
Loreal says that the product can be used in 2 ways, either as a spot treatment or as a face mask. I have tried both for a while now and think it has worked better than expected. Contains several good ingredients, such as niacinamide, glycerin, glycolic acid, etc. Paula's choice ingredient checker lists 14 under "Best", which is good. The downside, like with the rest of the range, is that this also contains fragrance. Something I personally will never understand in skincare, why fragrance is added to products that stay on the skin and can cause irritation. But some like it and have tolerant skin, but worth considering if you have sensitive skin. Spot treatment: Tried this on an area on my forehead that has been irritated for a while now in the heat (usually breaks out more in summer due to increased sweating and stress from the heat). Applied at night every other day for 2 weeks (You can start 1-2 times a week but had limited time to test so I went for it). The cream is quite thick and sits on the skin, it eventually sinks in. Not something I would wear during the day but totally fine at night. The best part is that the irritated area on my forehead got better after about 1 week, the redness had subsided and the spots had decreased. The fragrance did not irritate my sensitive skin, even though I would have preferred to avoid it completely. Face mask: In my opinion, it is too expensive for 45ml to use as a face mask, there are cheaper alternatives. And I did not experience any wow feeling as a face mask. In short, I think it does a good job as a spot treatment overnight, at an acceptable price. Solves the problem

I have tried the product as a face mask and I have experienced improvements regarding problematic areas. I have noticed a difference in my pores already after a few treatments as they have become smaller. One of the better spot treatment products I've tried
As a spot treatment, it is effective. I applied it to active pimples in the evening and saw a visible difference by the next morning, less redness, calmer skin, and flatter breakouts. It stays on well overnight without being sticky. Perfect for urgent needs! As a face mask, it feels cool and cleansing. After five minutes and rinsing, the skin feels clean, less oily, and the pores look somewhat smaller. It works best as a quick fix rather than a deep weekly routine. Very good as a face mask!
Since I have impure skin but rarely get pimples, I have used Derma Control S.O.S Spot Paste as a face mask. I see a big difference in pores and impurities already after 3 treatments! The pores have become smaller. The cream is very thick, which makes it a bit difficult to spread, but on the other hand, it seems that one tube lasts a very long time. I have now used the L’Oréal Men Expert Dermo Control series twice as a face mask for almost two weeks. You can feel that it works, almost a little stinging, but nothing that hurts. It should work for 5 minutes and then just rinse off. I have only tried those classic face masks that typically do absolutely nothing except cool down the face. But this one really went deep. Fantastic product!
