Casein is a slow source of protein extracted from milk that is absorbed into the body for several hours. Because Casein is ph sensitive, a gel-like consistency is formed in the stomach, which is the reason why it takes time to break down the protein into amino acids - you get a slow secretion. The important thing for exercisers who care about maintaining or increasing their muscle mass is not to end up in a catabolic state. This is easily done at night and then a protein with slow secretion is perfect to take as a good shake or pudding in the evening or when you know it will be a while before the next meal. Protein contributes to a normal muscle mass.
How To Use:
Mix a scoop with 2-3 dl of water or milk in a shaker. TIP: for a creamy good protein pudding, mix 2 raw scoops with 2 dl of water and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.
