Recycle your Batiste products
We want to encourage consumers to recycle their used Batiste dry shampoo bottles correctly, while simultaneously looking after the environment. We are constantly searching for new ways to contribute towards a more sustainable future and, to support this mission, we have started a collaboration with a Swedish recycling app Bower.
Bower gives the consumer clear instructions on how and where to recycle products correctly. It then rewards the consumer with points that are worth actual money. The more products recycled, the more points. The points can be cashed in for a variety of value coupons, charity donations or claimed as money that will be transferred into your bank account. It is a great way of taking care of the environment and being rewarded for it at the same time.
The process is seamless and smooth for consumer – they only need to download the app, scan the EAN code on the package and bring it to the closest recycling point. Recycling Batiste cans has never been easier – the cap and the nozzle part go in with plastics and the empty can goes in with small metals.
We at Batiste believe that this collaboration will motivate consumers to make healthier and more sustainable choices as well as peak an interest in recycling other cosmetics packages as well. The beauty industry must take a larger responsibility regarding their packaging and carbon footprint and, for us, this is a small step in the right direction. We hope that we can inspire more brands in the category to follow, and ensure our consumed goods are being recycled in the correct way.
We will concretize awareness for this initiative through creative seedings, social media organic and paid, stickers on bottles, POS materials in stores, plus more.

It’s super easy to recycle, and with only four steps you’re all ready to go:
1. Download the app through the barcode 
2. Go into the app and scan the barcode on your empty Batiste product.
3. Bring the empty packaging to the nearest recycling station and
4. confirm via the app that you are there. Put the product in the correct
5. recycling bin! (In the app you will find tips on how to easily recycle in the
right way)
6. You now get points in the app that you can use to redeem for a discount code or value check at the next product purchase. You can also donate them to charity.
PS. Always ensure that your spray bottle is completely empty before recycling the packaging.
