Lovely serum!
I am a regular niacinamide user and usually use Jorgobe's niacinamide serum, but after trying Lyko's, this will be the one going forward! I love the consistency, and it really does what it promises and contributes to a more even skin tone, plus I see a visible reduction in my pores. Caused perioral dermatitis?
I have used Jorgobé's Niacinamide serum completely without problems for a long time (read: used several tubes) and wanted to try this serum from Lyko, but after about 1 week I noticed that I became very irritated and super dry around my mouth and nose. It got significantly worse when it started to sting and almost burn, so I removed the serum and the retinal serum to protect the skin as much as possible. Now it has been several weeks since I removed this serum from my skincare routine and I still haven't started using Jorgobé again as I don't think the skin barrier has fully recovered yet. In terms of consistency, this serum from Lyko is much more runny than the one from Jorgobé. Which is neither an advantage nor a disadvantage, just different. However, I don't dare to continue using it since the skin reacted so strongly. The BOJ serum is not as concentrated as it is at 2% Niacinamide compared to this one which is at 5%, so the best thing is to try it on a small area first and otherwise use it on different days or times of the day. Hey! I'm about to start using niacinamide serum but I'm confused about the order. I've seen a lot of different ones and wonder what is "right"? I love using both toner and hyaluronic acid. I saw somewhere that I can use them in the morning and then just niacinamide before cream in the evening? How should I think? You can choose to use hyaluronic acid in the morning and niacinamide in the evening (or vice versa), but it also works really well to use both at the same time. If you combine them in the same routine – then apply the serum that your skin needs the most right now first, and follow up with the other. 🥰 Hope you find a routine that feels really good for you! I, who have struggled with hormonal acne and large pores, find this to be a wonderful product for me. It has helped me with both a more even skin tone and prevents my pimples. The serum also doesn't contain too many ingredients, which is a big plus since most others I've tried with many ingredients have irritated my skin.
