Reborn
The title may sound dramatic, but a lot has happened in my life since the fall of 2023. First, I became single, which was expected, but that's a (long) story for another time. Shortly after we separated, I found out that one of my sisters had been diagnosed with cancer after having issues for quite some time, and six months later she passed away. She was only 51 years old. In the midst of all that, I also lost contact with someone I had been friends with since high school. Things were happening all the time, and I hadn't even had the chance to address and process the first event before the next one occurred. I was of course on sick leave and was home from mid-April to mid-June. To fast forward a bit, I am now doing well, and other positive things have happened too. When I turned a year older last fall, I bought a trip to Vienna. I felt it was something I needed to do to get through the grieving process while also honoring my sister's memory (she was someone who valued experiences, not material things). It was one of the best things I've done. I've also made new friends (friends that I initially pushed away and said I didn't need, but thankfully they didn't give up). I also have a new job, and I'm moving next weekend. I feel like a new person who is stronger than ever, and that's where the word reborn comes into play. I see things from a different perspective now. A spiritual perspective. I've even started taking pictures of myself, which I haven't done in a very long time, and I'm sharing one here.
