Caudalie

Born in the heart of the Bordeaux region, on the Château Smith Haut Lafitte wine-growing estate, Caudalie is a fully independent, family-owned French skincare brand that draws its expertise from active ingredients derived from the vine and grapes. Caudalie was established in 1995, after founders Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas met Professor Vercauteren, Laboratory Director of the Pharmacy University of Bordeaux and specialist in Polyphenols, natural active ingredients derived from grape seeds with extraordinary antioxidant powers. Two years of research later, a patent was filed and the first Caudalie skincare products were created. Caudalie’s mission? To become the most effective clean and natural brand, and the most environmentally-friendly beauty brand.

EFFECTIVENESS, OUR PRIORITY

Effectiveness has always been at the heart of what we do. The majority of our products are made using innovative and patented ingredients, developed in partnership with the best anti-ageing research laboratories such as Harvard Medical School and Dr David Sinclair, with whom we have collaborated since 2013. The research we have undertaken together has led to the discovery of unique ingredients and exclusive patents at the cutting edge of anti-ageing innovation, for which Caudalie is a pioneer brand in their use.

Vinoclean Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil 150 ml

First product I have tried from Caudalie. It's totally okay, but for me personally, I always have to remove mascara first to get it all off, so I use this cleansing oil to remove the rest of the makeup and impurities from my face. The skin feels fresh, but I wonder if it gets cleaned well enough. I don't like the almond oil that much, so I probably won't use it again. I have combination skin, I'm between 35-40.

    Moisturizing Oil Elixir 100 ml

The body oil smells more aromatic and is okay, but not more. It has a pysch, so it can get slippery to apply if you don't use it in the shower as the last step, as it doesn't get as greasy. It moisturizes well at first, but after a while, I feel like the body needs more moisture and fat as it starts to get dry. The oil might be more for summer.

Thé des Vignes Shower Gel 200 ml

Shower gels deliver a bit more than the yellow one I have. There is a film that sticks to the body that I don't like. It lathers well and has a nice scent of neroli. The tube is soft, so there are no issues getting the gel out of the tube.
