    Worst experience

    Bought makeup brush cleanser from Make Up Store after a recommendation from a skincare specialist at Lyko. The product itself is quite ordinary and doesn’t do anything special, but the biggest problem is how it was recommended. I felt like the skincare specialist only steered me towards products from brands that Lyko owns, without giving a real assessment of alternatives. When even such a simple product is presented as the “best choice” in a guide that appears professional but in practice seems sales-driven, it completely undermines trust. Would not buy again.

    Stay away

I was told these were the best brushes they had – but in hindsight, it turns out I was consistently steered towards products from brands Lyko itself owns, including both Make Up Store and Rebecca Stella. There was never a real assessment of alternatives. The whole setup therefore feels more like a sales pitch than professional guidance. The brushes themselves are completely average and in no way live up to how they were presented. But the biggest problem isn’t even the quality – it’s the trust. I went in for help and came out with a full routine I reacted strongly to, based on recommendations that in hindsight seem anything but objective. These are not the “best products” – this is being sold what the store itself profits from. Stay away.

    Avoid brands owned by LYKO

    I sought guidance at Lyko because I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, and expected a professional assessment. Instead, I experienced being systematically steered towards products from Make Up Store and Rebecca Stella. I trusted the recommendations at the time and was not aware that these are brands owned by Lyko itself. I only found this out afterwards – after my skin had reacted strongly and I started to investigate what I had actually been sold. Shortly after use, my skin began to burn, turn red, and develop many small breakouts. The reaction quickly worsened and spread further across my face and down to my neck. When I asked during the guidance if there were better alternatives, I was told there were not. In hindsight, this does not appear to be an individual assessment based on skin type, but a sales-driven recommendation. When you seek a skincare professional, you expect expertise and tailored advice – not to be led towards products the store itself has a financial interest in, without disclosure. The whole experience feels misleading and unprofessional. Avoid if you have sensitive skin.

    Worst experience

    I bought Wonder Powder from Make Up Store based on a recommendation from a skincare specialist at Lyko, and I regret it. I was clear that I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, but I was still pushed to buy this product as part of a “customized” routine. The result was the opposite of what I was promised. Shortly after use, I had a severe reaction on my skin – burning, redness, and many small breakouts. The powder sat heavily on my skin and made the situation worse. In my experience, this product is completely unsuitable for sensitive skin, and it’s incomprehensible that a skincare specialist would recommend it to someone with such needs. Feels more like a product sold to make money than something that’s actually good for the skin. Not recommended.

    "Make up store" is dangerous for sensitive skin

    I bought bronzer from Make Up Store on the recommendation of a skincare specialist at Lyko, and it is one of the worst things I've used on my skin. I was clear that I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, but I was still pushed to buy this product along with several others from the same brand. I was even told that there were no better alternatives. Shortly after use, my skin started burning. I got severe redness and many small breakouts where the bronzer was applied, and the reaction spread further across my face and down to my neck. This is not just a bad product – it is directly unsuitable for sensitive skin and should never have been recommended by a skincare specialist. The whole experience felt more like aggressive sales than professional guidance. Stay away.

    ALRDI bought LYKO's brand «Make up Store»

    I bought blush from Make Up Store after it was strongly recommended by a skincare specialist at Lyko. I was clear that I have sensitive and acne-prone skin, and specifically asked for products that were safe and suitable for this. Still, I felt that I was practically only pushed towards products from their own brand. When I asked if there were better or more suitable alternatives, I was told there were not. Shortly after use, my skin began to burn intensely, became red, and developed many small, painful breakouts in the area where the blush was applied. The reaction quickly worsened and spread to other areas of the face and down towards the neck. This does not appear to be a random reaction, but a result of incorrect and sales-driven guidance. When consulting a skincare specialist, one expects professionally tailored recommendations – not to be steered towards one specific brand regardless of skin type. I find this product unsuitable for sensitive and acne-prone skin, and the recommendation I received was directly wrong. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product, especially not to people with sensitive skin.
