I have naturally dark brown, quite cool hair that I have dyed warm ginger at the hairdresser for a few years until last winter when we put on a dark brown color to work back towards my natural. Now it has been a few months since I was at the hairdresser, and the red is starting to shine through again, and I would like to put on a mask to bring out some of the dark brown again before my next hairdresser visit. Cool espresso looks darker than I think I want (and looks like it turns green on light highlights, so maybe it makes the red green?), but chocolate feels like it could also enhance the red, which color is best for me?

Hey Emma! 👋🏼😊
If you want to tone down the red without risking it turning green or getting too dark, I would choose Chocolate over Cool Espresso.
Cool Espresso is quite cool and deep and can give a slightly greener tone on warmer or lighter areas. Chocolate is softer in pigment and helps to calm down the red while still keeping a brown feel.
Apply to towel-dried hair and let it sit for a while to get an even refresh until your next salon visit 🥰
Have a nice day 🤎
