    Dark Blonde Hair

I have naturally dark blonde hair, get light highlights in the summer and quite dark in the winter. I highlight my hair at the salon, but due to poor finances as a student, I can't afford this regularly. Is it possible to use one of these colors to even out the roots? Which color would be best? And how is it to bleach/highlight the hair at the salon after this color has been used? Will it be very damaging to the hair?

Hi! 😊 Short answer: Yes, you can use Schwarzkopf Creme Supreme 10-19 Ultra Light Pearly Blonde to even out your roots, but it’s important to be realistic about what you can expect at home vs. at the salon. About whether the color suits you: You have naturally dark blonde hair with lighter highlights in the summer. 10-19 Ultra Light Pearly Blonde is a very light blonde shade that can give a cool, pearlescent blonde color. If your roots are dark blonde, this may turn out a bit lighter and cooler than the rest of your hair — so the result won’t be completely seamless like the stylist achieves with highlights/bleaching. But if you want to lift your roots a bit and tone them towards a blonder style, it could work as a budget-friendly solution. 👉 Recommendation: Just use this color on the roots, not the whole hair, for the best result. Always test on a small section first to see how the color reacts to your natural hair color. About going to the salon after using home color: It’s fine to highlight/bleach your hair at the salon after you’ve used a home color, as long as you’re honest with the stylist about what you’ve used and when. The stylist will take this into account when creating a treatment plan and adjusting the lightening/tone. It’s not necessarily very harmful, but: Home color has already lifted and affected the hair structure somewhat. The stylist often has to lighten the hair more to achieve a uniform, light result. There will naturally be more wear and tear than if the hair had been untouched. Gentle combination tips: Make sure to provide good moisture and care at home (e.g., moisture mask, heat protection). Avoid highlighting/bleaching too often — let there be a few weeks between treatments so that the hair has time to recover. Have a lovely day!
