My hairdresser told me that K-18 has come out with new guidelines stating that after the K-18 processing time, a regular conditioner should be applied.
I have very dry, thick, and damaged hair after several rounds of both coloring and bleaching.. I was recommended K18's leave in, but is this better for me? They seem quite similar and both have good reviews đ

Hi! đ
Thanks for asking â and so great that you compare products before you choose!
K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Mask and Olaplex No.
5 Leave-In Conditioner are both great products, but they have completely different functions:
đŹ K18 is an intensive repairing treatment that works deep in the hair to rebuild damage from the inside â perfect for a lot of bleaching, coloring, and heat treatment.
đ§ Olaplex No. 5 is a moisturizing leave-in conditioner that provides softness, shine, and frizz control â more like a daily care product, but not a treatment.
đ The product from Olaplex that can be compared to K18 is actually Olaplex No.
3 Hair Perfector. It is a repairing pre-shampoo treatment that strengthens weakened bonds in the hair â and is meant to repair, not just care.
In summary:
â For deep repair after bleaching and damage: choose K18 or Olaplex No.
3
â For daily moisture and softness: choose Olaplex No.
