Elexir Collagen powder consists of 100% marine collagen type I. The collagen is extracted from sustainably farmed freshwater fish. The building material of the body

Collagen is a protein that builds up skin, bones and tendons, among other things. Collagen, in turn, consists of different amino acids in varying compositions, and it is estimated that there are as many as 16 different types of collagen in our body. Collagen is found throughout the body, but it mainly occurs in hair, skin, nails, muscle, bones, joints and cartilage. Collagen type I accounts for about 90% of all collagen in our body.

Decreases with age

The body has the ability to continuously produce its own collagen, but this ability declines with increasing age. The reduction starts already at the age of 25 and when we pass 60+, production has decreased by almost a third. One of the direct indications of reduced collagen production is that the skin becomes thinner, wrinkled and drier.
