Luxury!
I received both the shampoo and conditioner from Olaplex to test, so fun that this is such a talked-about brand! I have actually tested these products before, I used them a lot many years ago! So I have opinions both as a first impression and as a long-time user. When I first tested these products, my hair was bleached, so I have now been able to test it with damaged and bleached hair, and now also with healthy and natural hair. To describe my hair, it is very thin, but with many hair strands. It can also get very oily easily, especially now that I have just gone from constantly bleaching my hair to now having my natural hair color. I always shampoo my hair 2 times in the shower to get it completely clean! So to the product, first and foremost, the bottle is very minimalistic. I think it looks very professional, they don’t need a “funny” bottle to attract buyers! Both the shampoo and conditioner match very nicely as well. The product itself is very concentrated! You don’t need much at all, which is positive because the product lasts a long time - extra good when the price is quite high as well. It lathers very easily and the feeling is immediately that the hair becomes clean. The product is very easy to rinse out and leaves no residue in the hair. When you finally come out of the shower and the hair is dry, it is SO smooth!! You get a nice shine, it is manageable and looks clean and healthy. I think the hair stays clean for a long time and feels good between washes. The product works incredibly well, BUT what I experienced the first time I used the product is that it works really well but when I used the product for a long time, I felt that my hair became very oily easily and the product didn’t work as well anymore. I then switched shampoo and have since always alternated between different shampoos so that my hair doesn’t just “get used” to one. For now, when I test this shampoo again, it works incredibly well! I think maybe my hair doesn’t like to always have the same products, but needs a little change. So to summarize: very good shampoo! Makes the hair clean, smooth, and feels healthy. For me, it hasn’t worked to use it for a longer time, but I need to use other products in between (it could be that this applies to all shampoos, and not just this one). The product is very concentrated and lasts a long time. So a top product! What doesn’t give it a 5 is just that my hair didn’t like it for a longer time. #lykoinflutester #olaplex

Unfortunately not right for my hair
I have long and thick hair with fine strands that are naturally wavy and easily become frizzy. It hasn't been color-treated for about a year. I use heat tools daily, so I'm always looking for products that strengthen, moisturize, and make my hair more manageable without weighing it down. The shampoo from Olaplex is described as caring and strengthening, but for me, it didn't work at all as I had hoped. The consistency is extremely thick and concentrated, which made it difficult to work into my hair - it felt like it just sat on top rather than distributing evenly. I had to struggle to achieve an even cleanse, which made the experience quite cumbersome. The scent is also quite strong and chemical, and for me, it doesn't feel particularly luxurious. After a few uses, I noticed that my hair felt unusually flyaway and unruly, and I even thought that some lengths felt a bit straw-like than usual. It can't be said for sure that it was the shampoo, but I haven't experienced this with other products. Unfortunately, it's not something I will continue with. Incredible for bleached damaged hair!
Very good repairing shampoo for damaged and bleached hair. One of the few products that actually gives visible results. It's important to rinse thoroughly as the shampoo is very strong for the scalp. I wouldn't recommend it if you have a sensitive scalp that easily itches/flakes.

Wow!
I follow the Abbey Young method and this shampoo is part of it. I have to say Wow!! I've never experienced such a concentrated shampoo, and it works wonders for my hair. I have thick, frizzy hair that easily becomes dry and damaged. But with this shampoo, my hair becomes magical!! Love it and recommend it. 🌸

Olaplex shampoo
This is the best shampoo I have ever tried. I have curly hair and often struggled with the shampoo being too drying for my scalp and hair. It is very moisturizing and makes my hair very shiny.

Can it be used alone?
Do I have to use Olaplex No. 5 with this or can it work with the Redken All Soft conditioner I already have?

  Hey Lena! 😊 You can totally use Olaplex No.4 shampoo on its own, and it works great with the Redken All Soft conditioner you already have. Olaplex recommends following No.4 with No.5 for the best results, but it's not a must. So you're in good hands with the combination you have! Happy hair washing! 🌟

Didn’t really work on my hair. I was recommended these products (shampoo and conditioner) but I don’t think they met my expectations. I feel like my hair became dry and lost quality. The hair gets clean but nothing more than that.

Shampoo that adds shine
I have long, thick, and colored hair, and this shampoo (with matching conditioner) adds shine to my hair after use. However, I don't find that it removes tangles and knots, but I think it's hard to find hair care lines that do since I have such thick hair and it easily gets tangled. As others have mentioned, the scent is mild, so it's a plus if you have trouble with strong scents. And as the nerd I am, I also like how the bottles are designed, very pretty to have on display. #lykoinflutester #olaplex

As #lykoinflutester I got to test this shampoo from #olaplex A bit about my hair: -Thin Scandinavian hair -I bleach and highlight it The first thing I noticed was that the bottle is hard to open in the shower when my hands are wet, so I always try to open the bottle beforehand. I always shampoo twice with whatever shampoo I use. I think it lathers well even on the first shampooing, and my hair feels very clean afterward. The consistency is quite thick but still easy to work with. However, I have noticed that my hair has become stronger; not as much hair falls out when I brush it. The only negative is that my ends have felt a bit drier, I don't know if it's due to the shampoo or the conditioner.

Good, but not a gamechanger
I think Olaplex No. 4 was a nice shampoo. It has a mild citrus scent that is pleasant without being overwhelming. One of the first things I noticed is how incredibly concentrated it is. The amount I would normally use from, for example, L’Oréal, I only needed about a quarter of here. It definitely works better to add more water than more product - I learned that the hard way when I ended up with foam everywhere. Even though the price is high, you use so little at a time that it can make sense if you are in the target group for this type of shampoo. That said, I don’t think it did anything extraordinary for my thick natural hair that a cheaper shampoo couldn’t have done as well. Nice, but not a gamechanger for me personally #lykoinflutester #olaplex
