Moisturizing Shampoo for Natural Curls
My hair is naturally curly, gets frizzy easily, and also tends to flatten quite easily. This worked really well for my curls in the sense that after washing, my hair was soft, felt moisturized, and was noticeably less frizzy. I think this is exceptionally moisturizing for a shampoo. On the other hand, I suspect this might have been a bit too moisturizing or conditioning for my hair because the curls flattened somewhat and had less volume. Of course, I can’t say if that was solely due to the shampoo or because I also used other products from the line at the same time. I recommend using the products together because then the result was clearly nourished and moisturized, but for hair that easily flattens, the whole line might be a bit much. Whether the shampoo alone adds shine is hard to assess. Works for curly hair – but is it worth the price?
My hair is naturally curly and gets frizzy quite easily. This clearly gave moisture to my hair and kept the curls looking really nice. At the same time, it calmed the frizz, which was definitely a plus. For my fine hair, however, it was maybe a bit heavy, so you shouldn’t use too much of the product. It promises to add shine, but honestly, I didn’t notice any special shine effect in my hair. I would still use it together with other products from the line because as a moisturizing conditioner, it worked well. I have naturally curly hair and the mask definitely added a lot of moisture to my hair. Because of this, my hair was very curly. I got this Waterclouds Gloss Revive Leave-in Treatment (150 ml) from Lyko to test. 🤎 Lately, I've been trying out different hair products and unfortunately, I've mostly been disappointed. 🥹 I have dry and coarse natural curly hair that is also bleached, so my hair needs A LOT of moisture 💧, but also structure repair. So my expectations weren't very high for this product line... However, the shampoos in the series pleasantly surprised me! My hair didn’t look lifeless in the morning. Definitely a plus! 🤝🏼 BUT: this leave-in conditioner didn’t seem to do much – the ends were quite tangled despite the product, and it felt like it maybe even "over-moisturized" my hair a bit. 😕 I wouldn’t use this on dry hair, even though the instructions say you can. I really like the shine I get from this shampoo! The hair also feels smoother and nicer after washing, and it’s easy to brush through. The scent is fresh and moderately noticeable. The shampoo has a good consistency and the packaging is easy to open. However, I find that it weighs down my natural waves/curls a bit, so they don’t hold as well and are almost gone by day two. After a few days, the small hairs also get a bit frizzy. For me, it works best when I want to blow-dry my hair straight or do a blowout – then the result is really nice and glossy! I will continue to use the product when I don’t want to emphasize my curls, and I also use it for my daughter who otherwise easily gets dull and tangled hair. Silky Soft Hair
I have been testing this hair mask for a few weeks now and here is my verdict ☺️ This is a mask that is supposed to provide moisture, enhance shine, and fight frizz. It is supposed to smell like flowers, fresh apple, and warm vanilla. I don’t notice much of the vanilla scent, but it smells mild and fresh, and maybe there’s a hint of apple 🍏 The first thing I notice about this mask is the texture. It’s a bit like a mix between gel and whipped cream! Very nice and fun texture 😍 I have very typical Nordic hair, with thin strands and a hair type that easily gets weighed down by products. So when I use masks, I shampoo first, towel dry my hair, apply the treatment (this one should work for 5 minutes), rinse it out, shampoo again with a milder shampoo, and finish with conditioner. That’s the method that works best for my hair without heavy hair products weighing it down. And I have to say – I love this mask! Gloss Revive Intensive Mist is a leave-in spray that is supposed to give extra shine, reduce frizz, and make hair softer and more manageable without weighing it down. It also has heat protection up to 230°C, which is a big plus for me! I definitely think it contributed to more gloss and gave the hair a nice shine. What I especially like is that I can spray it on towel-dried hair and then go straight to blow-drying without needing to use a separate heat protectant. I usually find that products meant to give a lot of shine often leave a greasy film or make the hair feel heavier and almost a bit dirty faster. I didn’t get that feeling at all with this one. It feels very light in the hair, and I still felt that the hair felt airy after styling. A big plus is also that it can be used on both damp and dry hair, so it’s an easy product to add even on days when you just want to freshen up your hair and get a little extra shine. Gloss Revive is a brand new series from Waterclouds, and I really like that the brand offers good hair products at a reasonable price. I tried another series before since I’ve heard several hairdressers recommend Waterclouds because you get a lot of product for your money, so it was extra fun to try their new series. This is a slightly “richer” conditioner focused on giving the hair moisture, reducing frizz, and making it softer and shinier. It should also help preserve color vibrancy and make the hair more manageable. I really liked that the conditioner was a bit richer in texture; it feels like it actually does something to the hair. And a big plus is that I didn’t need to leave it in for very long to feel the effect! Gentle Shampoo
Gloss Revive Shampoo is supposed to gently cleanse the hair while giving it more shine, preserving the color, and combating frizz. It also contains several ingredients that help provide a softer and shinier result. For me, it’s a pretty okay shampoo, nothing really bad? But it didn’t give me a “wow” since I personally tend to prefer shampoos that lean more towards deep cleansing rather than just gloss. However, this is a good complement since you can’t only use “stronger” shampoos. So at first, I only used this one, but now I use it about every third wash. What I like about this product is that the hair really becomes soft after use. I’ve used much more expensive shampoos that didn’t leave the hair as smooth. The hair feels clean afterward without becoming dry or rough. A good everyday shampoo that definitely does its job and especially gets a big plus for how soft the hair becomes. For me, it’s missing that little extra to become a new favorite. Sunscreen ☀️
I had the honor of trying Nova Cream from Face Formula. My first impression is that it is very sleek. The gray and orange packaging gives a modern and clinical feel, and the bottle with its smooth pump feels extremely hygienic and easy to use. Already at first glance, you expect a really high-quality product. The product has a light consistency, but unfortunately, the experience was not entirely problem-free 🥲 When I applied it, I noticed that it tends to ball up on the skin (pilling), which makes it difficult to get an even application (especially if you want to wear makeup on top). Also, it only has SPF 30, while I personally always prefer SPF 50 on my face to get maximum and as safe sun protection as possible during the day. I have sensitive skin that easily breaks out or gets clogged when I use the wrong sunscreens. At the same time, I have high demands on my sunscreens because I want high protection (preferably SPF 50) and a formula that lays seamlessly on the skin without rolling or pilling when you apply it. Ingredient-wise, it does its job moisturizing and protecting the skin against both sun, blue light, and infrared radiation without causing new breakouts. However, the pilling effect during application and the fact that it only has SPF 30 lowers the overall rating for me, as I don’t quite get the finish or the high protection I prefer in my daily routine.
