Very "chalky" and low in pigment
I have tested #estellethild's Gilded Gaze Eyeshadow Palette. The palette contains five different colors, some with shimmer and some more matte. The color selection is nice and suits most people, but all have somewhat cooler tones. The eyeshadow comes in a light and sleek beige box with a mirror in the lid when you open the palette. When it comes to the eyeshadows' pigments and texture, I unfortunately have to say that I am really disappointed. Over many years, I have tested various eyeshadows from different brands and can clearly tell the difference between what works very well and what simply doesn't hold up. The eyeshadow is "chalky" and dry in texture and flakes when applied to the eyelid. The colors and pigments are also weak and do not show well upon application, even with a good eyeshadow primer underneath. The wear time is also incredibly short, and as soon as you touch the eyeshadow on the eye, it disappears. I would love to see the formula of this eyeshadow further developed so that the beautiful colors actually look on the eye as they do in the palette itself. Beautiful natural shades
I got to test the Estelle & Thild Gilded Gaze Eyeshadow Palette as a Lyko Influtester. I'm not particularly skilled at using eyeshadows and use them quite rarely, so I liked the palette's beautiful and neutral shades. They can be used for both a light everyday makeup and a more striking evening look. However, the first experience was a bit disappointing, as the color seemed to pick up very little on the brush. On the lids, the shades were quite subtle, and the lighter shades mostly gave shimmer. You need to layer the colors several times if you want a clearer result. On the other hand, this is exactly why the palette suits someone who doesn't want too bold eye makeup, but just a gentle shade and a beautiful shimmering addition to the makeup. The eyeshadows also fall out quite a bit, both over the other shades in the palette and when applied around the eyes. I also tried applying the color with my finger, but the edge of the packaging makes it a bit tricky. Still, the palette is easy to carry around, and the beautiful neutral shades suit various makeup looks well. The shimmering shades add a gentle and beautiful touch without being too bold. Nice shimmer, but a bit little color💕
Together with #estellethild's Fether Blush Brush, I have also tested their Pearly Petal Melange Blush in the color Dahlia🌸 The blush itself is beautiful in the compact and makes you want to use the product all the time. The color is a flowery lighter pink with a hint of peach. The packaging of the blush features a classic and sleek beige compact with a relatively large mirror in the lid. It is light and practical to carry in the bag, and it's a big advantage that you get a mirror included with the purchase. Beyond that, I think the product itself is a bit under-pigmented and feels more like a kind of highlighter than a blush. With all the shimmer, it lays down a very glittery layer on the skin, while a blush should preferably give some color to the cheeks. It picks up nicely on the brush when you take the product, but in my opinion, it becomes a bit boring on the skin. Soft and airy blush brush
This time I have tested out #estellethild's Feather Blush brush💕 The brush is small, light, and ergonomically comfortable to hold while applying blush. The bristles are soft and pick up just the right amount of product. The product applies easily and nicely on the skin, and it doesn’t get patchy. Glossy Hair
I got to test this conditioner with my honest opinion. This is a conditioner that is supposed to preserve hair color intensity, add moisture, and give silky soft and glossy hair. This conditioner has a medium thick consistency, somewhat like a mix between gel and mousse. It smells very fresh and nice, and I didn’t need a large amount to cover my shoulder-length hair. It definitely makes the hair very soft and glossy, but for my thin hair, it’s too heavy. It forms a kind of coating on the hair strands and weighs my hair down quite a bit. But I have used it as a pre-shampoo treatment, and for that it works great! I just wet my hair, apply the conditioner, and let it sit until I wash my hair. Hair doesn't get clean
I have very thin hair that easily gets weighed down by products, so I was excited to try this shine-enhancing shampoo. I haven't had much success with shine and moisture shampoos before, as they tend to be too heavy for my hair and it ends up getting greasy very quickly. I prefer volumizing shampoos. This shampoo can give shine, smooth the hair surface, and reduce frizz. It smells fresh and nice, similar to the conditioner in the same series. I always shampoo twice, and I did so with this one as well. But I noticed already in the shower that this didn’t make my hair feel clean. And when the hair was dry, it felt heavy and not clean. Completely okay
I have tested this product and here is my honest opinion. This spray is supposed to prepare the hair for styling, enhance shine, combat frizz, and protect against heat up to 230 degrees. The first time I tested it, I used it as the only leave-in in my hair, and it didn’t work particularly well. It didn’t provide much care on its own, and my hair felt a bit dry and static. I got more out of it by applying a nourishing leave-in first and then using this more as a heat protectant spray before using heat tools. It definitely adds shine to the hair, but for my hair, I felt it became overly smooth and my curls fell out faster than usual. Unfortunately, I don’t think it helped with frizz, rather the opposite. But that might be an issue with my hair. When products have a lot of alcohol denat, hair tends to get very frizzy. This is not a must in my routine, as I have other heat protectant products I prefer. Goes well with their new blush
Below you can see me using this brush together with their new blush (pearly petal melange blush) in the shade Rosewood. 🌸 It goes well with it when you don’t want too much of it or on too wide an area (since it has glitter in it). ✨ As you can see, I then use another brush (Lyko’s foundation brush) to blend the color. I usually do that if I think it got a bit too intense. I can imagine it also works well with highlighters or other products that you want to apply on a more limited area. The brush itself is soft and pleasant. It’s sleek. Too cool tones
I got this eyeshadow palette for testing. The shades are nice in my opinion, but too cool for my preference. I like to use a lot of brown-toned eyeshadows, and the brown in this palette is a bit grayish for me, which I don’t like. The pigment in the shades is quite minimal and you really have to apply a lot of product multiple times. The product falls off a lot in the palette but luckily it didn’t fall under my eyes at all! Perfect blush topper
I got to test this blush in the shade dahlia. I first tried the blush alone, and in my opinion, this shade alone wasn’t enough to give what I expect from a blush. It gives a lovely glow to the face and the shade is really beautiful. The pigmentation could be a bit better for this shade. The next day I tried it on top of a cream blush and WOW! This shade is the perfect blush topper! Smoothing Heat Protectant
I had the honor of trying Waterclouds' new product line, which I'm excited about! My hair is coarse by nature and thirsty for moisture. Due to a botched bleaching, I also have a lot of broken hair that I want to tame. I've tried the Gloss Revive Intensive Mist both alone and together with the Revive product line. With shampoo, hair mask, and conditioner, my hair becomes dreamily soft! However, the spray alone is not smoothing enough for my hair. A bonus, though, is that the spray doesn't leave a sticky feeling and works great as a detangling spray / adds softness to the hair. A pretty okay everyday palette
This eyeshadow palette is good for everyday makeup or for those who mostly like neutral colors. It’s not for those who like to experiment with colors. However, I think the colors are a good selection. 🤎 I’m a bit surprised by how many bad reviews this has gotten. I consider it much better than, for example, comparable eyeshadow palettes from LYKO 🙈. But the different eyeshadows in this palette vary in quality. The shimmery ones are good, they have good pigment and last long. In the second picture, you can see how the shimmery eyeshadows held up after a night out. The dark matte colors are okay but a bit uneven, and the lightest one is almost invisible on me … They do fall quite a bit of pigment though, so if you don’t like that, it’s good to be aware of. I appreciate that there’s a mirror. Extra practical when traveling. 🌸 The packaging is nice but it gets stained quite easily, and the stains aren’t so easy to remove. Shine, Care, and Color
I think Urban Decay Lip Toys is a really lovely product for those who want shine, color, and care all in one. The formula feels soft and pleasant on the lips and gives a nice, glossy finish without feeling sticky or greasy. The lips feel immediately smooth and hydrated, which I really appreciate. I also like that the color is buildable, so you can choose how intense you want the look to be. It’s also a bit fun that the color adapts to the lips’ pH and becomes more personal. Long-lasting result.
Good mascara but nothing that stands out. It gives the lashes a nice separate lift and keeps them stable all day without losing shape. The lashes become nicely separated and defined, and I really like the brush head which is slim and easy to work with. It also reaches the smallest lashes and makes application easy. The only downside is that the formula dries quite quickly, which made it difficult to build up multiple layers and get the volume I wanted. I therefore found the result to be more focused on length and separation than fullness. Overall, it’s a good mascara if you like naturally defined, long-lasting lashes, but I would have liked it to give a bit more volume. A shimmering blush
This blush gives a lovely shimmer. This product is not for you if you don’t like blush that gives shimmer or contains glitter. I think this is meant to be a bit like a blush and a highlighter in one. The lighter shade works better for me as a blush topper, but I actually think this gives a lot of color too. But it doesn’t give a lot if you want a lot of color. 🩷 I think this gives a nice bronzy tone, so it’s perfect now at the end of summer. In my opinion, this product is actually a good dupe for Caia Cosmetics Sun Filter Duo Palette. It gives a similar effect but is more than half the price. However, it doesn’t give as much bronze as Caia’s, but this is the product I’ve seen that comes closest. 🤎 Their own brush, the feather blush brush, actually works well with this. You don’t want to use a very large brush because then it’s easy to get glitter all over your face. 🪩 This blush has good staying power and I appreciate the mirror in the product. Practical when traveling. The packaging is nice but unfortunately it gets dirty easily, as I’ve seen others point out. When it comes to this blush, I think it’s crucial to know what you want. As I said, if you don’t like glitter in your blush, you won’t like this. But I appreciate it and I like this too. Fantastic Glow
Packaging: I really like the packaging of this cream. It feels nice and simple, and I like that you squeeze out the cream instead of having to use your fingers in a jar. It feels fresh and convenient. Scent: The scent, however, is not quite my favorite. I find it a bit hard to describe, but to me it almost smells a bit savory in some way. It’s not a strong scent, but it’s a smell that I personally wasn’t too fond of. Texture: It feels soft and lovely on the skin. The cream is a bit richer, so if you use a little extra, it might take a bit longer to fully absorb. Result: But the result … WOW! 😍 It absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves the skin soft, moisturized, and with a beautiful glow. If you use a bit more product, you need to give it a little extra time to absorb, but the result is really super nice. I also like that it works so well under makeup! It doesn’t ball up and the makeup sits nicely on top.
