Great budget-friendly shower foam!
Just like the other scent variants in By Lyko's foaming shower gel series, Crisp Bouquet comes out as a gel that foams up to a mousse. However, I found that it was a bit more liquid at first than expected, but once it comes into contact with the skin, it develops into a fine foam. It feels luxurious to use and is quite similar to Rituals’ shower foams. At the same time, it leaves the skin soft and pleasant after the shower without feeling drying, which I really appreciate. The scent reminds me a bit of Rituals of Sakura – a clean and light floral scent that feels fresh and feminine without being heavy. It’s not exactly the same, but it lies in the same scent universe, so if you like that type of soft floral scents, you will probably also enjoy this one. Since Lyko often runs half price on By Lyko products, I would personally definitely consider this as a more budget-friendly alternative. You get a similar luxurious feeling in the shower for a significantly lower price. I was so lucky that #lykoinflutester got to test 3 Shower Gels from #bylyko🙏🏼 I love shower gels that turn into mousse when they come in contact with water. While I had high expectations for the one that was supposed to smell like flowers, I had very low expectations for this one, so much so that I told my mom she would get this one too.. Because I’m not a fan of coffee or caramel! But here I have to disappoint my mom🙈 Because this smelled absolutely amazing, so I’m keeping this one for myself. The third and final product to review from the Kevin Murphy products is the shampoo. ☺️ About my hair: Thick (many hair strands), curly, a tendency to be dry, and many years ago, also colored. I usually occasionally use color-preserving shampoos. But mostly shampoos that fall under the categories of “moisture” and “hydrate.” And I actually can’t see any difference in the results on my colored hair when I use color-preserving or hydrate shampoo. And the same goes for this. I don’t see that it would give a more color-preserving result on my hair than when I use other shampoos. Now I color my roots as often as every three weeks. So maybe that’s why it doesn’t show any greater results from being color-preserving when I’m adding new color at such close intervals? 🤷🏻♀️ And then to this with my hair having a tendency to be dry (which curly hair often is)... Now this shampoo isn’t specifically tailored for dry hair, nor does it promise to be hydrating in any way. But that it makes the hair drier??!! Yes, that was exactly what my hair experienced. The hair becomes tangled, dry, and it was not good at all for my hair type. 😩 And then we come to this with the scent. 😬 The conditioner I tested in the same series had a scent that wasn’t so good. The shampoo smelled stronger. And not good at all. Like an incredibly strong men’s perfume. And unfortunately, the scent lingers in the hair for several days. So now I can be sure that color-preserving shampoos do not suit my hair, even though my hair is colored. But that my hair exclusively needs hydrating shampoos. I caught the hype on TikTok after I had already tested this for a few weeks, and it’s 100% understandable that it became a trend😍🤝 I have combination skin, a bit blemished, a bit oily, and in this season a bit dry. I am 35 years old and have a few small wrinkles and acne scars here and there. I was very excited to see if this oil would make my skin more oily and blemished, as I usually stay far away from oil-like products. Every night I have applied it all over my face before my night cream. I’ve been using it for almost a month now. A lovely really good Leave-In hair oil✨
After a few weeks of testing this Hair Syrup Leave-In hair oil, here are my thoughts and experiences! I like the glass packaging and also that it has a dropper to make dosing easy and smooth with a click! The oil is super lovely, light, and I feel no stickiness either in my hands during application or when it’s in my hair! For me, this is an incredibly important feature! My hair strands are coarse, and I have a lot of hair😊, long, slightly frizzy, and naturally curly, untreated! It easily gets tangled and messy, I notice a big difference when I’ve used the oil! The lengths become softer and easier to manage! The hair gets shine and feels “alive”! I have used the oil in dry hair most often, but it works just as well after my hair wash in damp hair! However, I don’t feel completely comfortable with the scent that has hints of honey, caramel, and jasmine combined, and it has been like this throughout the entire testing period. ✨ First impression Very cute and fresh design on the bottle! 😍 Gave a refreshing feeling without being heavy, which I really appreciate! The scent wasn't really my favorite, but definitely not bad in any way, just not really me 🤪 Wasn't quite friends with the cap and the spray either. 🍁 About me and my preferences I have curly, frizzy, thick, and long hair that gets washed twice a week. I sometimes use dry shampoo between washes, but not always. Some dry shampoos sting me because I have a dry scalp, usually cheaper ones with a lot of fragrance, so I tend to avoid those. 🏵️ My thoughts and experiences The best thing about this is that it doesn't give a product feel, which is unusual for a dry shampoo. As #lykoinflutester I got this incredible spray from Waterclouds to test 🥰 I can be a bit prone to frizzy hair since it’s quite thick and has volume. This product is like a hand in a glove for me ♥️ The hair becomes incredibly soft, reduces frizz, and adds shine. Additionally, the scent is fresh and pleasant 😍 it doesn’t weigh the hair down, but makes you feel fresh. Making good shower foam is very difficult. The products in question will always be compared to the foams from Rituals, which were the originals and took the market by storm ⛈️. I am myself a fan of Rituals products, but I believe I can keep an open mind when testing new alternatives, which I am very happy to do like #lykoinflutester, thank you for the trust Lyko! Lemon-Aid is the third and last foam I tested in the trio of foams I got to try from Lyko, the other two are Caramel Crush and Crisp Bouquet. The foam first comes out as a gel, but in contact with water 💦 it becomes a soft and very pleasant foam. Unfortunately; I am struck by the fact that the foam smells quite sharp and bitter initially. Almost more like grapefruit and not like one would imagine a fresh lemon 🍋. The lemon scent only comes after a while when the initial scent has faded a bit. The scent is milder than Rituals' variants, so if you want something that is not as pronounced, this might be something even though this one doesn't quite hit home for me. I do not feel that the foam dries out the skin, and I love the sensation and feeling on my skin that I get from washing with the foam! A must for me with weak hands is that it is easy to get product/s out of their packaging/bottles/jars. There were no problems here. Degreasing?
This seriously smells like a slightly fancy product that reminds me of rim cleaner (degreasing) for car rims. I had to laugh a bit while I was standing in the shower. The foam comes out in a nice amount with a short press, doesn't foam well as the consistency is very thin. Foams better with a shower sponge. Distributes well, and the skin doesn't feel sticky. Doesn't dry out hands or body. After a couple of days of degreasing, it went on to a car enthusiast, and his first reaction was "oi, it smells like what I have on the mats in the car to remove salt and grease from winter!" (in other words, enough said.) I don't think it moisturizes more than "all other" soaps, you get clean, and that's it. Pretty and simple bottle with a cap, but it stops a bit there. OK price, but not particularly economical in use compared to products in the same series. I wish I liked this, as citrus scent often feels fresh and clean, but this was too much car in my opinion. An OK shower foam that smells typically of caramel, sweet and nauseating for me. I feel like we can let this caramel trend take a break. The foam comes out in a nice amount with a short press, but it doesn't lather well unless you use a shower sponge. Distributes nicely, and the skin doesn't feel sticky. Doesn't dry out hands or body. Not particularly economical in use, so this lasted about a week with daily use, in moderately distributed amounts. The product is also very runny. The scent disappears very quickly (for me; thankfully). Works as shaving foam too. The bottle is fine for its price, not particularly fancy, but a plus for the cap and that the logo isn't glued on, but sprayed on(?) Minus is that it should go as metal packaging, something not everyone has so easily available. This Crisp Bouquet is number two in the trio of shower foams that I have been tasked to review, I have already started with Caramel Crush. If I could wish for something, it would be that the branding could have been better and more distinct between these two, the bottles are quite similar in color. However, that’s where the similarities end. If Caramel Crush was, as the name suggests, a cola scent, then Crisp Bouquet smells, as its name suggests, very much like flowers 🌸. Unfortunately, I find that the scent is a bit sharp at first, it stings my nose 👃. Once the scent settles a bit, it’s okay, but nothing I would probably reach for. The product itself is good, the foam lathers wonderfully upon contact with water 💦 after first coming out as a gel. It’s lovely to wash with the foam, it feels so nice against the skin and you get clean. A must for me, as I have weak hands, is that it’s easy to get product/s out of their bottles/packaging/jars. It works well here. The price point is reasonable. First of all, I just have to say that this is SPOT ON for someone who loves the scent of honey! The first impression was the sweet, nice box the product came in, sweet yellow color and the «melted-wax-mark» with a bee on it. When I took the bottle out, I was a bit underwhelmed. It was very simple, no signs that it would smell like honey. I missed the sweet «melted-wax-mark-with-bee-on». But this became clear when I opened the bottle. The bottle has a lovely pipette and for those who know me well, that’s something I’m a big fan of, feels so luxurious! I have thin Nordic hair that is lightly bleached/dyed. This hair oil is light in consistency but gives a bit of weight in the hair. Regardless of the amount used. Maybe better for thicker hair? The first time I used too much in my hair so it looked wet. Therefore, it’s worth noting that a little goes a long way on thin hair haha. I should also mention that I have only used it on dry hair, I will try it on wet to see if it can help/be a better method. It absolutely gives shine, but doesn’t overcome the intense honey scent. I like honey, but for hair, that’s probably not the scent I would choose myself. But as I said at the beginning - if you love the scent of honey, this will be to your liking! In short: nice packaging, with pipette!! gives shine /- intense scent of honey (taste and preference) - weighing effect, hard to find a way to use little to avoid weight but also enough to get clear shine. Maybe better for thicker hair? Does its job, but not my new favorite. It’s been some busy days so I haven’t had time to take before and after pictures, I’ll see if I can do that in a few days. I got to test Waterclouds Dry Argan Oil Spray and was surprised by the product's ease of use. The spray promises to smooth, control frizz, and give shine to all hair types as the final step in styling. Based on my experience, the product gives just the right amount of shine without making the hair look greasy or heavy, but you should be careful with the dosage 😊 applying the product is not as controlled as with traditional hair oils, but I like that I don't have to wash my hands after use, it's really ready-to-go. This surprised me!
I find the bottle to be simple, yet stylish and with clear text. The design also makes it fit well on the bathroom shelf, it doesn't take up more space there than necessary. The product transforms from runny and loose in consistency to a creamy, fluffy foam quickly after being dispensed. It forms a generous foam quite quickly, and I haven't had to work so much mechanically as it fluffs up a lot and fast. A little goes a long way! It's a quality that provides a luxurious shower experience. I find the citrus scent to be fresh and invigorating even though I usually prefer more floral scents. I still liked it as the scent is perceived as more discreet; if you want more fragrance in your products, you might want to try another. But the scent you do notice lingers for quite a while after the shower, which I like! The gel easily removes dirt and impurities and feels soft and gentle on the skin. I find it suitable for daily use as it is not drying at all. This is apparently because the surfactants clean gently and it is pH-friendly for the skin. It's an affordable, "basic" shower cream that suits most people well, it works great for shaving legs too, the foam doesn't just disappear like some others can after a few minutes! Effective and long-lasting with a sweet scent
To start with, the packaging is practical, a pump bottle that first gives a runny gel solution that then transforms into foam quite quickly, you need to use a bit more the first time, otherwise it’s easy to use. Maybe a bit slow for my hands, but that probably has more to do with me than the product itself! I have very small hands. It’s pretty, has an aesthetic look that is typical for By Lyko series and practical, easy to use even if your hands are wet. I like everything from floral to slightly sweet scents, and this one has a discreet, sweet scent, I think of “sweet-nut-caramel” which I really like. It gives a soft lovely foam that cleans effectively without drying out the skin afterwards, so it’s suitable for daily use. I find it to be long-lasting, a little goes a long way. I can’t find any negative things except that it’s very runny at first before it starts to foam, so some might run around, but that’s the only thing I reacted negatively to! It’s a reasonably priced and good basic cleanser for the body without containing too many strange caring ingredients.
