Looking for a solid setting spray to set your party season makeup? Here’s a strong contender. 🏅 I tested this setting spray for couple of weeks every day. I tried it for my normal everyday makeup and also for evening makeup by really putting it to test. The bottle is quite big and seems to last for a long time. I have now been using this Setting Spray for a while and think that the makeup stays where it is, extra long compared to when I don't use setting spray 🥰. I find that my face is less shiny during the day than when I don't use setting spray. I also don't need to touch up with powder during the day. I have combination skin and haven't gotten any breakouts from this spray either. The spray smells good but faint, which is good. It can otherwise be a bit too much with strong scents on the face, in my opinion. The spray also doesn't feel on the skin like some other setting sprays can 🤩. I love the look of these new Make up store brushes! Really fresh and professional finish. I was a bit nervous if the bristles were too long since I generally prefer that highlighter brushes have slightly shorter bristles, but the brush was not clunky to use at all. The highlighter can be beautifully applied to the cheeks, and it also works on the nose bridge, above the lip, and on the chin if needed. The white hairs encourage washing the brush regularly, and it also held up excellently to washing. Really easy to blend, not too pigmented, so it's easy to work with the product and build it up to your liking. The shades are good and the product is large and long-lasting to use. I love the bronzer's slight shimmer, it's not too much but applies beautifully on the skin without being glittery. I’m so happy about Make up store’s comeback! As a teenager, the Make up store magazines were my “Instagram and Pinterest” makeup looks... The Make up store products were what I looked up to back then and dreamed of in my makeup bag. The Champagne eyeshadow was my first product from the brand, and I remember it lasting forever and being everything I could wish for from a light eyeshadow, and it also worked as a highlighter. Nothing has changed since then. I got to test a new highlighter, bronzer, and blush through Lyko. YES! Also wow! they couldn't say they had upgraded the products - both design and quality. From previous experience, I have had mixed experiences from makeupstore - a lot of good, but also a little less good. But this!!! made me say WOW as I applied the product. The packaging is classic, simple, and with soft edges. It is also smooth, so if any makeup gets ruined or the sharpener opens in the makeup bag and gets smeared with lipliner residue (hehe, might have happened to me), it’s easy to wipe it off🙌🏼 it also has a mirror! The only thing is with long nails, I wonder how easy this is to open? But I feel it’s easy to open and close, but unfortunately, I have short nails at the moment. I still think back to Rose Inc's blush with a magnet open/close function. Seriously, the ONLY thing this product doesn’t have that I feel could have been better. The product is pretty much flawless🤩 If I really have to search, hmm maybe a cooler shade? since most are warm? but again, I feel so fresh and that I have kept the summer glow into the wintertime🥹 The product itself is really what to talk about here. I have tried endlessly different bronzers but must honestly say I have found a new favorite. It’s like a mix between cream and powder. I love that it’s not too extreme in pigment, which makes it easier to build up than to be unfortunate and get too much on the first stroke. I really can’t get over how creamy it is! it melts into the skin and feels light as if it’s a part of my skin. A light glow too. No, I’m so so SO satisfied!💗 For the bronzer, I used my Caia pointed powder brush f10. Good makeup brushes also have a lot to say for the application of makeup. Super soft and light in hand😌☁️💗
First of all, I love how the brush is packaged. I've never received makeup brushes with these «plastic fish nets» on. It gives a very good impression that these are of quality and need proper protection. It's also very understandable for this brush, and their domed powder brush #06 is so incredibly soft!!! I imagine you have to be a little careful with them so they keep their nice shape. They are absolutely not compact, hard, and thick makeup brushes🥰 The design is sleek, the silver color is identical to Caia's. The differences are that makeupstore's are light (Caia:dark), soft, and light «hair» (Caia: soft but more compact/heavy «hair») and black writing (Caia:white). And finally: makeupstore's can stand on their own!!! A little wobbly but stabilizes easily after about 2 seconds. It might have been easier if they were thicker…BUT the fact that they are so thin gives a similar «brush» feeling, so I notice they are lighter in hand when I do my makeup. You can see the makeup brushes compared in the last picture☺️ I only tried this with their highlighter in the color Pearl Glow (wrote a separate review on that). Worked perfectly for that. But I was surprised at how soft it was. Almost TOO soft? I noticed I had to press the hairs together to pick up more product. But I let go before I was going to apply. But it's completely individual how little or much one wants☺️ I've only tried this with the highlighter but think that this might help to use on an overly pigmented product to avoid it becoming TOO intense. I seriously haven't bought a highlighter since I got my The balm mary-lou manizer! I was so lucky to test this in the color Pearl Glow✨ Compared to the balm's, this one is myyye prettier in the «powder form/consistency». No visible glitter particles. If you want a clearly intense highlighter, I recommend The balm's. BUT if you want a more natural glow, this is spot on!🥰 Perfect when using mattifying products and wanting a bit of life back to the face, but still wanting a natural finish. Or you use products that add glow but want to glow a little extra😋 Using their tapered highlighter brush #04 it was applied so incredibly easily and beautifully on the skin (own review on that). If you want a more intense glow, I would recommend using a more compact, firmer brush, possibly a smaller one to place on a smaller area but give more clear shine. But for a natural finish, their soft one is perfect!🙌🏼 The packaging is like the other products - classic, simple, stylish, soft edges. Just absolutely gorgeous!😌💗 I wish I had taken a video of it on my face too to properly show how glowy it is. I feel the picture doesn't show it enough. I've never been near a makeup brush as soft as the ones from makeupstore! I tried this one and their tapered highlight brush and WOW sooooo soft! I got to test it with the blush and it was a delight to apply with it. The product melted into the skin. Felt easy to apply and to «wear» the makeup (reviewed blush, bronzer, and highlight too). Visually, it gives a similar vibe to Caia's - which is nice for me because then they don't clash in my makeup brush bag😌 it means a lot for my well-being haha. They are both in the same silver color. But they also have their differences. Makeupstore's are completely light in the «hairs», black writing, and incredibly sleek in design with a slightly angular flat tip. While Caia's are dark in the «hairs», white writing, and thick in design with a flat but soft tip. I feel that because of makeupstore's design, I naturally want to be lighter on my hand? And a plus that the brush can stand on its own (a little wobbly so it takes 2 seconds to stabilize it, at least for me hehe). You can see the comparison in the last picture☺️ I also must not forget to mention how much I loved how it was packaged! The «plastic fish nets» I will keep. It reminds me of a YouTube video where I saw someone use such when they were drying or transporting (or both?) makeup brushes to not ruin the shape. The only downside I can think of is that the softer they are, the less product they scrape up. But that allows for building up the product and not applying too much at first. Easy to create a natural result. But if I want a lot of product, I have to squeeze the hairs together to get up product and then release it before I apply the product to my face. I experienced this when I tried their blush. First of all, I have to say: wow, what a packaging! It looks so exclusive, even though it’s also so simple. I just love looking at it. I usually go for cooler highlighters, more towards white/silver. This one isn’t quite in that lane, but I still think it looks really pretty on. It applies nicely, makes the skin shine extra where you want - and it’s also very, very pretty to use as eyeshadow. Oh, I was looking forward to testing this. I love the packaging, and the shade looks incredibly nice in the packaging. It ✨shines✨ and my first thought is that this will be a nice blush! Even though it’s a multistick, I expect a bit that it would behave like a typical blush stick. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m getting it to show up much on the skin. I apply it as I usually do (taking the product on a brush, not directly on the skin). I’ve tried to layer it on, but the color is poorly pigmented. Maybe it’s just the color that’s wrong for me. I might have expected more from this product, considering the brand and price. Nars has so many good products. Plus for being supersmooth on the skin and easy to apply. I have been so lucky to get to test some products from makeupstore in collaboration with Lyko and have now tried the products for about a month. This highlighter, like the previous products I have tested, is truly a multiproduct. And I have of course tested it in several ways, both on cheekbones and as eyeshadow, which has given such a nice result and that little extra in the makeup look😍 It is a nice highlighter that doesn't have too large glitter particles, which fits perfectly to my taste, and I loved this as an eyeshadow! It is also of course very nice on the skin for that little extra, but for me, I can't use a blush that gives glow, but rather a matte one, but those are my preferences for myself and have nothing to do with the product. I was so excited to test this, and I was also excited because I have never used concealer from a jar before. Luckily, it worked well! The color I have is chantilly. Here’s what I think about it: ⭐️ It’s thick, and I’ve found that working it in from the hand might be the best. And you really don’t need much product. ⭐️ It has very good coverage on my redness in the skin and quite dark scars ⭐️ This is a matte concealer and I prefer to use it to cover spots etc., and I don’t really use it as a brightening under the eyes. It can also settle a bit dry, which often matte products do, so plenty of moisture in skincare first is a good idea. I like it as long as I apply it the right way and prep a little extra beforehand.
