Slanted Buffer Eyeshadow Brush
A very good eyeshadow brush. It has soft but densely packed bristles and a slanted shape. It’s easy to work with, gives more control than a regular fluffy blending brush. Easy to build color gradually, especially on the outer edge. Affordable brush everyone should have
This blender is easy to use, nicely blurs lines, and gives a beautiful shading. I liked using this one. It was comfortable to hold, many others have quite narrow handles compared to this one, and it’s not too long either. The brush is dense and a bit thicker, which is perfect for picking up eyeshadow. Nice as blush
I have tested this bronzer as #lykotestpilot for #estellethild. Was very happy because bronzer is something I use daily and also like them in a browner tone. First and foremost a plus for the packaging, nice and practical with a mirror inside 👌 I preferred to use it as blush, thought it gave a nice sun-kissed finish. But I found it very shimmery and therefore didn’t enjoy using it all over the face. Felt kind of “glossy” and shiny. Difficult brush
I got to be #lykotestpilot for #es#estellethild and tried this mascara ☺️ I don’t have very full or very long lashes, so I prefer thicker brushes that build up. I’m having a bit of trouble getting along with this mascara and it’s a bit hard to decide what I think 😅 Overall, I think all mascaras are harder when they’re new. The final result was okay but I wish it was easier to "build up" since I want more effect. + Positively surprised by the brown color, hadn’t tried it before so was a bit skeptical at first. But I thought it was nice and not a big difference from black. + nice packaging, good to hold. - I found the formula quite wet, hard to get it right since so much got on the lashes but at the same time it didn’t stick easily and slid off. - long brush, unnecessarily long in my opinion. Nice colors but unfortunately a disappointment
I was very happy to have been #lykotestpilot for #estellethild ☺️ I like eyeshadows in earthy tones and usually use beige and brown. I thought these looked sooo nice so I had high hopes. But unfortunately, it was a disappointment. In the picture, I used my finger to try to show the colors as well as possible. Hard to get a good picture of how it looked on the eyelids 🙈, but I tried anyway 🤭 Here is a summary: - too little pigment, especially the mattes. The shimmery ones are somewhat better. - hard to get color to stick with a brush, felt like the shadow mostly flew around and also became "grainy." I came back to this brush daily after the first use👏🏼 Extremely soft and perfectly sized brush head! It followed the crease well and blending was so effortless with this! Also, the density of the bristles was perfect for this exact use. Somehow very light and easy to use. The brush is super lightweight and comfortable in hand. Gilded Gaze Eye Palette Soft Neutrals
Really mixed feelings about this palette! I got a really nice everyday makeup look with it, which I've been rocking almost every day since I got the palette, but then there are a few things that feel a bit off😬 When picking up the product with a brush, the eyeshadows dust and fall off a lot, which I don't think should happen with a palette worth 30€. I also don't understand why glitter was added to the darkest shade? One light glitter would be enough for this packaging. Now actually only 2 shades are in my daily use. Also, the cardboard packaging got dirty quickly and doesn't look nice. But as you can see from the picture, the shades I use are beautiful and work perfectly together😍 It was lovely to notice how the lightest shade really brightened the areas where I applied it! Super handy design that clearly makes a difference🤩 Building eyeshadow in the corners of the eyes goes really smoothly and the design also nicely follows the eye shape! The bristles were also dense enough for this deeper makeup look. The result was neat and successful every time! The brush is lightweight and fits nicely in the hand. I am incredibly satisfied with this brush. The bristles are soft and comfortable on the skin, and the brush itself has a nice weight, making it feel good in the hand during use. The bristles have a good density that makes the brush great for picking up product and distributing it evenly across the face. Beautiful bronzer
I am a big fan of this product because I think it gives a really beautiful color that boosts everyday makeup. The bronzer is incredibly beautiful with different tones of soft, warm, brownish shades. The packaging is made of paper/cardboard, which is a nice break from all the plastic usually used in the makeup industry, although the bronzer does transfer a bit onto the paper with prolonged use. I’m usually not a big bronzer person, especially because I have such fair skin that most bronzers quickly look very orange on me. However, I do sometimes miss being able to get that glow to the skin that a bronzer gives. That’s why I’m a big fan of the bronzer not being heavily pigmented, as it means I can build up the glow I want without turning completely orange. Since it’s a product with a lot of shimmer, I’ve used it as a combination of bronzer and highlighter. I really like that because it means I need fewer different makeup products for everyday use. The bronzer has really good staying power on the skin, and you can still see the glow after a full workday. Beautiful colors perfect for everyday use
Really nice palette with colors most people could use. The packaging itself is light and compact, making it an easy palette to carry in your bag or suitcase. Sunset Sheen Melange Bronzer Terra
This is a baked bronzer with a lot of glow. It is made with natural ingredients and is organic. The packaging is made of paper and the mirror makes it very nice. It is more like a highlighter than a bronzer. Too glittery in addition to the pigmentation being too weak and difficult to apply with a brush. Unfortunately, this color is too orange for me, so I didn’t like it. So satisfied!
I said roughly the same thing in my review for Estelle&Thild's Slanted Buffer Eyeshadow Brush, but I feared that this Soft Blender Eyeshadow Brush would also be too loose and sparse. So many blending brushes feel a bit like trying to blend out eyeshadow with a long, thin, unruly blade of grass, but the density of this brush made me SO pleasantly surprised! I think it’s just perfect in size and density, and it’s just the right amount of rounded at the tip so that it feels like the pressure during application makes all the bristles contact the eyelid. I mentioned the length of the entire brush also in my review of the Slanted Buffer Eyeshadow Brush, and the same applies here! I’m often on the go, and therefore I’ve previously bent the bristles on some of my brushes because they just barely fit in my soft makeup bag, and over time they simply get pressed against the inside of the bag. However, this brush is only 14.8 cm long in total, so it fits much better in a bag. In the picture, it’s lying next to my Morphe M453 Crease Blending Brush (18.3 cm long), because I think the bristles are quite comparable to that brush. Surprised. Impressed. YES PLEASE!
When I first saw pictures of this brush and when I unpacked it, I honestly thought "oh no, this is going to be completely floppy," but NO! I feel like I see so many eyeshadow and blending brushes that are so thin in density and so long in bristles that it feels a bit like smudging the edge of the eyeshadow with a long blade of grass. I definitely prefer a slightly firmer density, and this one is a new favorite that will live permanently in my makeup bag! Another really big plus for me is that the handle is a bit shorter than many other brushes I have. I've accidentally bent bristles on one or another makeup brush by storing it in a soft makeup pouch where it barely fits. It is 14 cm long, and I think it is fairly comparable in bristle length to my Morphe M453 Crease Blending Brush, which is 18.3 cm. I wasn’t quite prepared to open the packaging and see such a BIG brush, but I’m not disappointed! It’s 18.4 cm long, if you measure from the start of the handle to the outermost bristle. I think bronzer brushes are often a bit smaller nowadays, probably partly because bronzer and contour are used a bit too generously as synonyms, which leads to brushes for two actually quite different purposes getting a bit mixed up. The density is really nice, a bit firmer and thicker but otherwise quite similar to the Real Techniques Blush Brush (the old pink version called Real Techniques by Sam and Nick), so very suitable for softly sweeping powder over slightly larger areas. Soft bristles that pick up both loose and pressed powder as expected. It doesn’t feel cheap, and the handle is a very comfortable thickness for me personally. I have a fairly small face, so I probably won’t rely on this brush just for bronzer, it’s probably liiiiittle too big for that. Almost a 5-star product!
Nice, simplistic mascara... uh... tube? made of plastic. Not too long, not too bulky in shape like some mascara tubes with more “creative” looks. Big plus. I'm not a simplistic/minimalist person overall, but I definitely prefer makeup packaging that is, because I almost always do my makeup on the go and therefore want compact packaging that doesn't take up unnecessary space in my makeup bag! I find the plastic quite smooth, which isn't the ideal material if you have grip strength issues for example, but most people probably wouldn't have any problems with it. I was surprised when I opened and pulled out the brush and it did NOT come with like a teaspoon of extra mascara glue. Every time I start a new mascara, I have to wrestle with it so it doesn't apply way too much that just clumps and has no chance to be nicely distributed over the lashes. I don't know if Estelle&Thild made the little rubber piece inside the tube much smaller in diameter so it scrapes off the excess better, or if it was pure magic that mine performs so incredibly well right after opening, but whatever it is, I'm extremely satisfied! I rarely like brushes that aren't silicone because I think silicone tips usually comb through my lashes better, but this brush manages to perform really well on that front too! I'm not quite sure if I agree with other reviewers that the Vivid View Volume mascara is very heavy and bends the lashes down. I was rather impressed that my lashes seemed to hold more upward direction than usual. You might say the actual bend didn't hold a perfect curve, but it didn't weigh the lashes down completely flat. I also didn't find it crumbled as much as other reviewers, but I probably wouldn't rely on this for a whole long day in blazing sun, for example. I love brown mascaras, and if I hadn't found another new favorite earlier this year, this one could probably have taken the spot! It's quite dark brown, but definitely not black. Very similar to my current favorite mascara (Idun Minerals Vatn waterproof brown mascara) in color, which you can see in the picture. Estelle&Thild on the left, and Idun Minerals on the right. Overall, I'm surprisingly impressed with this, after being let down by so many other mascaras before. I think it's true that it gives volume rather than length as the name suggests, I think the color was really nice, and most of all, I'm a bit enchanted by how it actually scraped off the excess so I avoided my usual routine of wiping away wasted product right after opening a new mascara! Something I didn't think about before reading a few other reviews was that the mascara contains castor oil, which many use as a nourishing oil on eyelashes to help them grow long and healthy. Cute, handy everyday palette, don’t expect a dramatic result!
Cute and compact palette in a sturdy solid box that opens and closes smoothly. I’m so grateful for the mirror in the lid, but I wish the mirror wasn’t quite so narrow. It would be an extra plus if the mirror were taller so you can see both the eyelids AND the surrounding area a bit better, as I prefer to see the whole picture a bit more when I apply my eyeshadow. The shadows feel quite large in surface area, which means you’re not limited to using tiny tiny brushes (ahem ahem, Urban Decay Naked Palettes, ahem ahem). I was so OVERJOYED when I saw this wasn’t yet another warm palette, but something that works nicely with my cool skin tone! So many makeup brands seem to forget those of us who aren’t naturally sun-kissed and golden brown. I agree with other reviewers who mention the pigment in the two matte shadows. They’re a bit too “chalky,” if I may use a bit of Spanglish, and don’t apply with evenly distributed pigment. The shimmer shadows, on the other hand, are really nice in pigment and work really well. They apply best with a finger or a sponge instead of a makeup brush (just like most glitter/shimmer products). I understand many are disappointed with the pigment, especially since we now expect quite a lot of pigment in makeup products. It’s definitely not a smoky eye palette for nightclub nights, but I think it’s much more suitable for everyday use and/or if you want to start using more eyeshadow in a more cautious way. I think it resembles eyeshadow palettes that are currently popular in South Korea and China, where thin, natural layers of shimmering eyeshadows in cooler tones are fashionable. So if you’re unsure how to use the palette, I imagine you can draw a lot of inspiration from their makeup routines! More glittery than a "regular" bronzer, and not for cool-toned people, but could be a perfect match for others!
First and foremost: I like the packaging and have ALMOST ONLY positive comments about it. I like that it’s made of cardboard instead of plastic, yet it still feels really sturdy. It closes and opens easily, but it’s unlikely to open by itself in a bag. I like that it’s flat so it can be stacked (so tired of makeup compacts with a dome top that makes storage awkward). I love that it has a mirror in the lid. Beautiful product, where the bronzer is marbled. Feels like staring at a planet! The only downside is that the powder itself is domed. There’s technically nothing wrong with that, but if it were flat instead, the packaging could probably be significantly shorter in height. I prefer really compact makeup because I almost always do my makeup "on the go," and therefore I don’t want to have to squeeze unnecessarily large compacts into my small makeup bag. As for the product itself in practice, unfortunately it’s not right for me, at least not for the intended use! I like when base products (bronzer/blush/highlighter) are more shimmery than glittery, it simply looks better on my skin. I would say this bronzer has those extremely fine particles that shimmery products usually have, rather than glitter, but somehow it still feels glittery. The amount of glitter/shimmer reminds me much more of a highlighter than a bronzer. It’s really not for those who are afraid of sparkling in the sunshine! The color is very warm on me, but that’s life when you have as cool a tone as I do. As a bronzer, it leans more toward red-orange than green-orange, if you know what I mean. In pictures (under lamp light indoors and in daylight) you can see Estelle&Thild Sunset Sheen Melange Bronzer Terra on the left and the classic Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer on the right for comparison. You can see that Hoola is more yellowish in tone compared to Sunset Sheen Melange Terra. Now, Hoola is a matte powder, so the comparison is more for pigment and color reference. I would say Estelle&Thild’s is buildable in pigment and easy to apply and blend in thin layers, which I like! It feels like there’s a very even distribution of pigment and glitter when you apply it. So personally, it doesn’t work as a bronzer for me, both because of my skin tone and because of the very glittery result. However, I tried an ultra-thin layer on my collarbones/decolletage and thought it looked really nice! A bit of a tropical beach vibe. So I think it works well as a body shimmer if you want to find an alternative use! Really good brown mascara that lasts all day
A really good brown mascara that is easy to apply and gives a beautiful, full result. It is a more volumizing mascara but also adds a bit of length. The packaging is really nice and simple. The thickness of the tube makes it easy to hold and makes applying the mascara quick and easy. The formula is on the more liquid side, so you should expect the mascara to need a couple of minutes to dry before you can add more layers. This means it doesn’t flake, even after wearing it all day. The brown color makes the mascara perfect for everyday use, as it gives a more natural look compared to black mascara. It is also really great for green eyes, as it highlights the green tones in the eyes. The brush makes the mascara very easy to use, as it is not too big and the bristles are not too dense. I am also a big fan of the addition of castor oil (also called ricinus oil) and cocoa butter, as you can care for your lashes while wearing makeup. Castor oil is known to make lashes fuller with continued use. The mascara is made with 99% natural ingredients, of which 66% are organic. So if you are looking for a mascara with more natural ingredients, this is a really good place to start! I have been incredibly happy with this mascara, and it has become a permanent part of my everyday makeup. Glowing forehead
The idea of cardboard packaging is funny, but it really looks dirty already after just a few weeks😂 Even when opening the packaging, the tape tore off a piece. Otherwise, it's a pretty good packaging, there's a mirror, and it snaps shut firmly! But this is definitely not a bronzer, it's a highlighter. There's hardly any pigment but plenty of glow. My forehead shimmered so much that I felt like staying home the first time I tried it😅 I had to always use my trusted product underneath and then gently dab this on top. My first brown mascara ever, and I would definitely buy it again! The color difference to black mascara isn’t big, but it softens the look a bit, which is perfect for everyday use🥳 The mascara separated the lashes as promised, but volume was missing. I already have long lashes, so I know there’s potential here for an even more striking look! But that’s exactly why this is the perfect everyday mascara🤩 While reading the product description, I realized that this mascara really didn’t clump, and that’s a great feature!
