Not as much effect as I had hoped for
Just tested a bottle of Olaplex's Bond Smoother now, and unfortunately I have to say I haven't noticed as much effect as I had hoped for😅 I think the hair looks so greasy if you apply it on dry hair. So now I've only used it on towel-dried hair before blow-drying, since it is heat-protective and reduces frizz🥰 I think it works fine for that, but nothing Wow. I'll probably try other products to see if they work better. Luxury frustration! 💥
When turning the bottle upside down for a few days didn’t help, I had to do the only right thing; demolish it! 😈 I struggle with packaging where you have to break into it to get the last bit out. Or in some cases, not even the last bit, but after 2/3 of the bottle you have to bring out the pruning shears (love you Maria Nila but your pump bottle for color refresh leaves something to be desired there 😜 But it’s solid to get through, I’ll give you that 😄 if there was a thickness rating for packaging. The best moisturizing mask on the market
I would claim that this mask is the absolute best for moisture that exists on the market. You notice an immediate difference, one wash is enough. I personally have Nordic striped hair that is bleached, and my hair looks so fresh and undamaged after using this. I hope they never stop producing this, but I find that it is harder to get now.. I'm experiencing that I'm getting good curls but that my hair is a bit heavier with these products than with Umberto Giannini. I kind of feel like washing my hair earlier. You who have tested different product combinations for wavy/curly hair probably know what I mean. I think it will even be a wash tonight. Shiny Conditioner
I use this conditioner with the matching shampoo and I find my hair shinier after use, but I don't feel like it really removes tangles and knots (I do have long and thick hair that easily gets tangled and knotted, so I find it hard to find products that completely remove knots and tangles). I have long, thick, and colored hair, and this shampoo (with matching conditioner) adds shine to my hair after use. However, I don't find that it removes tangles and knots, but I think it's hard to find hair care lines that do since I have such thick hair and it easily gets tangled. As others have mentioned, the scent is mild, so it's a plus if you have trouble with strong scents. I still feel like my hair has become stronger, there isn't as much hair falling out when I brush it. Good and long-lasting, but not a miracle
Olaplex No. 5 is a really long-lasting conditioner, and you need far less than you would normally use with, for example, L’Oréal. I found that about a quarter of the amount I usually use was plenty – and it works best to add a little extra water to the hair rather than more product. It has a mild, clean scent and a concentrated consistency, but without being heavy or greasy. It leaves the hair soft and easy to comb through, and it didn’t irritate my scalp. Even though it’s nice and long-lasting, I don’t think the results were significantly better than cheaper conditioners I’ve tried. Good, but not a gamechanger
I think Olaplex No. 4 was a nice shampoo. It has a mild citrus scent that is pleasant without being overwhelming. One of the first things I noticed is how incredibly concentrated it is. The amount I would normally use from, for example, L’Oréal, I only needed about a quarter of here. It definitely works better to add more water than more product - I learned that the hard way when I ended up with foam everywhere. Even though the price is high, you use so little at a time that it can make sense if you are in the target group for this type of shampoo. That said, I don’t think it did anything extraordinary for my thick natural hair that a cheaper shampoo couldn’t have done as well.
