I'm absolutely terrible at making curls with a curling iron, and if I manage to get them, they never hold, so I had almost given up. Bought this one a bit on a whim when it was on sale a few months ago. The first time was so-so, but since then. Wow! So easy and handy to use. The curls turn out nice and hold well. I have tested the serum together with the accompanying shampoo and conditioner in the Pure Grow series for the past two weeks. The serum is liquid with a very pleasant texture. It quickly absorbs into the scalp without leaving a sticky residue that some serums can cause. The hair also doesn’t get greasy from the serum but stays nice until the next wash. I have a dry and sensitive scalp that often reacts to hair products, but with this one, I feel no irritation, which is really nice. My scalp actually feels a bit less dry than usual. The bottle is made of plastic, unlike other hair serums I’ve tested that had glass bottles. It doesn’t feel as luxurious as a glass bottle but is much more practical when you’re a clumsy person who often drops things. This one can fall on the floor without breaking, which is a big plus! The dropper is a bit stiff and it’s hard to dose the right amount; it easily dispenses way too much product. Unfortunately, it’s been too short a time to notice any major effects of the serum yet, other than that it’s pleasant and doesn’t irritate. For two weeks, I have tested the conditioner in the Pure Grow series along with the accompanying shampoo and serum. The conditioner has the same fresh minty scent as the shampoo, and I like the scent because it is mild and not overpowering. The conditioner itself is really good! After it has been in the hair for two minutes, the hair feels soft and moisturized. It also doesn’t weigh the hair down or make it greasy quickly afterward. The product feels economical, and I don’t need much product at all. The bottle is stylish with its sleek, angular design in blue and white. But it is quite impractical; it keeps tipping over in the shower. However, that’s not the main problem for me with the bottle, it’s the cap. The hole in the cap of the bottle is so incredibly small that it’s almost impossible to get anything out of the bottle. With one hand, it’s completely impossible to get anything out; it’s insanely stiff. I have to use both hands and squeeze hard just to get anything out, and then the problem is that the product ends up on the floor if you’re not very quick. Ideally, you need someone to help squeeze the conditioner out for you. Maybe my conditioner bottle was a Monday model since I didn’t have the same problem with the accompanying shampoo. Smells good
I have now tested Pure Grow shampoo for two weeks. My hair has always been thick and full before. But that changed after my pregnancy, and living with several chronic illnesses obviously affects it as well. I have lost a lot of hair, and it is now more on the thinner side. Therefore, it was a bit extra fun to try this shampoo that promises to awaken tired hair follicles. I haven’t noticed anything from that yet, but I have also only tested it for a short time. It is a nice product! The shampoo smells wonderfully of mint and almost reminds me a bit of mint gum. The consistency is smooth and just thick enough, and it lathers quite a lot. I always wash my hair twice to get it properly clean, and the hair really feels thoroughly clean. No product residue or other “stuff” remains in the hair after washing. The hair feels good after washing; it doesn’t feel dry and stays clean for several days afterwards without feeling dirty or greasy. I find it to be a mild shampoo, as it doesn’t irritate my dry and sensitive scalp at all. It hasn’t itched the least bit after washing with it. The design of the bottle is very nice; it stands out with its flat and somewhat square design compared to all the other bottles in the shower. However, it is unstable and keeps falling over, which is a bit annoying. The cap itself is easy to open and to get the right amount of product out, and it’s easy to do with just one hand. Gives a nice glow
I have tested C-tetra from Medik8 for six weeks. I am an experienced user of vitamin C serums and it is part of my daily routine along with SPF. My skin is dry, quite sensitive, and easily reacts with eczema and rashes. I also have some fine lines now at the age of 47. C-tetra is packaged in a dark heavy glass bottle that feels luxurious. What detracts from the luxury is the dropper, which is actually quite bad. It is difficult to dose and too much product easily comes out. The screw cap that the dropper is attached to is also not great; it has a poor fit and does not close tightly. So it’s definitely not something to take with you on a trip. It has a fresh orange scent that just smells incredibly good. The scent lingers for a few minutes after application before disappearing completely. The serum is very thin and fluid and absorbs incredibly quickly into the skin. As soon as it absorbs, the skin looks glowing and fresh. It is also the glow that I have noticed a difference in during these six weeks; it is more noticeable and the skin looks a bit clearer. It also works well under makeup along with my SPF, nothing rolls or anything. I was afraid my skin would react strongly when I started using the serum, but thankfully it did not. Gives nice volume and leaves hair clean!
My hair has always been thick and full, but after my pregnancy and my chronic illnesses, unfortunately, my hair is no longer thick. I have lost a lot of hair and it has generally become much thinner. That’s why I almost always use different volume products to get a feeling of thicker hair. I have tried the entire volume series from Björn Axén and they have made a positive impression all around. The shampoo has a very pleasant texture and lathers just the right amount when washing. I always double shampoo my hair, and I have done the same with this one. I feel that the hair becomes clean and feels fresh afterwards. There is no feeling of old product residue left in the hair. What I’ve noticed the most is that the hair stays so fresh for several days after washing. 3 days is no problem and I haven’t used dry shampoo once since I started with the volume shampoo. The hair becomes airy and light and you can see the difference in volume. I get a bit dry scalp from it, but I also have an extra dry scalp already and therefore always use Axén’s scalp serum. The rest of the hair doesn’t feel dry though. The scent is just as mild and fresh as the other volume products in the series, I like it. The packaging is good, it stands firmly in the shower without falling, which is a big plus! Does its job!
Blow dry cream is a nice styling cream that does what it’s supposed to! It moisturizes my hair without making it greasy and heavy, it also provides some hold but without leaving a hard product feel in the hair, which I really appreciate! It gives good volume to the hair when used together with the other products in the volume series. Used alone, it doesn’t give much volume to my hair. I like the fresh scent that reminds me of cucumber, and it’s nice that the whole volume series has the same scent. My scalp is dry and gets quite easily irritated by different products, but the cream neither irritates nor dries out my scalp. I appreciate that the product has heat protection in it, which makes blow-drying easier since I don’t need to use separate heat protection. The cream is economical! Very economical, I would say, the first times I made the mistake of using way too much on my hair and it barely absorbed. A product I didn’t know I needed
Bought this set in the store by chance when I was going to buy new eyebrow color. It was on the shelf next to the color, and I impulsively bought it thinking it might be handy. But it’s really a product I didn’t know I needed until I tried it 😀 It’s so incredibly convenient to mix the color in the small jars instead of a paper cup like I did before. The stick is perfect for mixing the color on one end and easy to comb the eyebrows with on the other end. Dry as heck
I like essence and their budget-friendly products and haven’t tried anything from the brand before that I didn’t like. After all the great reviews I read about the Lip N’ Stain lipliner, expectations were high and the color Make a Mauve looked so pretty. It really is in real life too! But, and this is a big BUT. Unfortunately, the color is so dry that it’s impossible to apply. No color comes out at all, even if you press quite hard. The whole pencil feels like it has dried out, so it had to go straight in the trash. Even though the lipliner was cheap, I at least expected to get some color from it. A truly summery Lovables ☀️
I usually buy a Lovables now and then, but this year I hadn’t bought any because they didn’t appeal to me. Until now 😀 It’s a perfect mix of products that are useful during the summer. I like that there’s so much sun protection included, it will be used up quickly since the whole family here are heavy users. I had just finished my UV spray for hair, so it’s great that there are two different ones for hair. I think it’s a very good mix, but if I could wish for something, a tubing mascara or waterproof mascara would fit really well in the box.
