    Up for review

I think Lumene's advent calendar looks really good this year, with a nice mix of both skincare (14 products) and makeup (10 products). And a whole 12 products in full size!!! I like that. I usually buy advent calendars in this category - beauty and wellness - open them up, and give 2-3 small gifts in addition to the "main" Christmas gift. But maybe I'll buy this calendar for myself? I also think the box looks beautiful. The whole calendar is a great gift. I really like Lumene as a brand and have tested several of their products. Bought myself, or sent for testing as #lykoinflutester. Both skincare and makeup products. I perceive Lumene's products as mild and nice products that also suit those with sensitive skin. "Everyone" tolerates Lumene. And the products smell so good, yet discreet. This is the first advent calendar to be released at LYKO this year, so for now I'm adding it to my favorites list.

    Perfect for mature skin

Maria Åkerberg's Papaya Peeling is very good, also for those of us who are not so fond of scrubs with grains. Usually, I react to those, but not to this one. I have dry skin with some oil in the T-zone. I have reached menopause and want to use peeling regularly to avoid looking dull. I have light Nordic skin. The grains dissolved quickly and oil remained on the skin. As recommended, I applied a good night cream on top. I had no reaction, and the skin became soft, smooth, and regained its glow. But I would be a bit cautious if I had very sensitive skin. The product contains essential oils, which can irritate the skin, and some allergens. It also contains oils and fats that can clog your pores if you have oily skin and acne. You should be careful when opening the tube and hold it upside down. Otherwise, the product will run out. Do not shake the tube, as that will destroy the grains. I don't find the scent particularly pleasant, and that might be because I perceived the papaya scent as stronger than the essential oils. The scent can remind some of us of vomit, as the natural butter acid in papaya can give a slightly sour smell, and the enzyme in papaya – papain – resembles a digestive enzyme we have in the stomach. Others will like the scent well. They will mainly notice the scent of citrus and lavender. But it doesn't matter much that the scent is a bit unpleasant, as the product suited me very well. The enzyme papain is the actual peeling, and I have to accept that. Maria Åkerberg's Papaya Peeling was part of a By LYKO Lovables inspo-kit and will be repurchased here! I am quite sure it is even better for dry winter skin.

Good product, but not for me

Kevin Murphy's moisturizing conditioner does what it’s supposed to and a bit more. The product contains a lighter type of silicones, is more concentrated than conditioners you find in grocery stores, and has a high content of nourishing ingredients. I used the conditioner with and without Kevin Murphy’s detox shampoo, and with the moisturizing shampoo from the same brand. Especially after using the detox shampoo, I would say the conditioner is necessary. My hair is typically Nordic, untreated, and a bit dry. I didn’t feel the conditioner weighed my hair down. The hair became soft and shiny. The cap was impossible for me to open. So I either had to use a tool or unscrew it. That’s too inconvenient. It also smells strongly of perfume, and the scent lingers. It smells of bergamot, lemon, wood, and spices, not like the typical sweet floral scent many other shampoos and conditioners have. There’s no doubt that Kevin Murphy is a very good brand with very good products. But for me, this conditioner is not a necessity right now; the design is too poor and the scent too strong. If your hair really needs care, I recommend Kevin Murphy’s shampoo and conditioner for moisture. You can also try using it as a hair mask and leave the product in your hair for 10-15 minutes, but as a leave-in it’s too heavy. The product was part of a special offer for Lyko Creators.

    Hopeless design

Kevin Murphy kind of ruins it for himself with hopeless design and strongly scented products. First of all, the cap is hard to open, even though I have some nails. It doesn’t get better either after several uses. And then the bottle is square and the cap is on the side. You have to take the bottle out of the shower shelf and then struggle with the cap. This is not a design for those with reduced finger dexterity. The scent is also very strong, and it lingers. I would describe it as a scent of bergamot, lemon, wood, and spices. So not a typical scent you find in cheaper shampoos. The shampoo is good! I have typical Nordic hair, and with menopause it has become a bit dry. When I use this shampoo and conditioner from the same brand and line, the hair becomes soft and shiny. There are plenty of better products within shampoo and conditioner that I have tested (and I have tested a lot like #lykoinflutester over 4 years). But not good enough to bother transferring them into pump bottles. The product was a special offer to Lyko Creators.

Wibeke 🧼🧴🫧🌟 I think there should be unscented sunscreen in many environments because anyone with some kind of sensitivity can feel really bad for several days if someone passes by with a very strong scent from hair, clothes, or body. For example, my husband gets asthma very easily and then he can't work, so there are big consequences if someone hasn't thought it through (why people drench their laundry in perfumed detergents and fabric softeners is a mystery to me🤔). Really good to mention the strength of the perfume in reviews, I think 👍🥰

    Not bad at all

There is no doubt that this cleansing shampoo works very well. But it has some challenges. I have typical Nordic hair – very many, but very thin strands. The hair is untreated and I rarely use products. But when I do, this cleansing shampoo would be a good choice. I struggled a lot to open the cap. And this applies to all bottles of this variant from Kevin Murphy. I had to use a flat iron to flip it open. And the cap remains difficult to open. So if you absolutely want to buy this product, and maybe aren’t very strong in your fingers, you should pour the contents into another bottle. The scent does not work for me at all. Because if you are like me and grew up with an old-fashioned cabin without running water, the scent profile is composed in a way that can remind you of a type of lime product used in connection with those. Those who know, know. I also find the scent strong, and it lingers for a long time. My hair became clean and nice, and I had no reactions. I used it together with Hydrate-me.rinse shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. For me, it foamed very well, was easy to rinse out, and the hair did not get tired. But as mentioned, my hair is quite thin – that might be the reason. Sometimes it’s hard to give the right number of stars to a product – because one thing is what I think of it for personal use, and another is how it works generally. The product is very good and deserves 5 stars, but for me personally, it didn’t fit so well. The product was a special offer for Lyko Creators.

A good product for dry and damaged hair

Vision Haircare's serum is a very good product for dry, worn, damaged, and heat-treated hair. From the ingredients, I see that it strengthens and repairs. It moisturizes and makes the hair soft and easier to comb. And it gives shine and protection. The design is nice and the pump is easy to handle. I have typical Nordic hair. Thin strands, but an awful lot of them. I did not experience that the serum weighed the hair down at all. My hair is untreated and has no real issues, so this serum is preventive for me. The serum smells sweet like candy, but the scent is not strong and does not last. I think the price is too high, because if you have some thickness to your hair, you need quite a bit of serum. This is not a serum like a thin liquid, but more like a typical leave-in. And as a leave-in, the product works well for me, and I will use up the bottle. But I probably won’t repurchase this time. Effective for normal skin

This mask is really effective, but not for those with sensitive skin. I am 49 years old and mainly have dry skin, but still some oily T-zone. I can also get a bit dull, as cell renewal doesn’t happen as quickly at my age. This mask removed all the sebum, dead skin cells, and tiny hairs. The skin became very smooth and got a more even tone. When applying it, you must avoid the eyebrows, the sensitive skin around the eyes, and the hairline. Because it sticks well and it can be a bit uncomfortable to remove if you miss a bit where you put it. 20 minutes is not enough for it to dry completely – I had it on for about 30 minutes. I had no mask residue on my face afterward. So just take your time so it dries completely. I rinsed my skin with water afterward and applied a thick night cream. I woke up the next day with no negative reactions, just nice and smooth skin. The mask is developed by Norwegian Elle Basic and produced in South Korea. So I deduct one star because of the long shipping distance and because single-use masks lead to unnecessary plastic waste. The mask was part of By LYKO Lovables.

    Your new forever shaving foam

This is a really good shaving foam! It smells very nice, it foams well, it feels good, the bottle is sturdy, and the product delivers what it promises. From the list of ingredients, I see why. Here I find several ingredients that both bind moisture and provide long-lasting hydration. There is also niacinamide, which strengthens the skin barrier, reduces redness and irritation. But also substances that form a protective layer over the skin so the razor glides better, and an ingredient that possibly reduces hair growth over time. Impressive. And it works. So well that this is a product I will continue to use. But beware! The product contains fragrance, so if you have sensitive skin, you should rather test the fragrance-free version. Behind the company are two sisters, one of whom is a trained doctor specializing in intimate health and gynecological care. They collaborate with another female professor and chief gynecologist. Here, products for women are made by women with good expertise – to put it mildly. They have made a very good shaving foam, and I will definitely look at other products from DeoDoc. I like it!

Since I see there are mixed opinions about the scent of the body lotion, I want to say a bit about it first in my review. If I were to describe the scent of estelle&thild's Coconut Silk Body Lotion, coconut is not the first thing I think of. At least not the type of coconut scent we know from perfumes, hair oils, and shower gels – it smells more like natural coconut scent. How coconut really smells. But mostly, I think it smells of lavender and citrus. Maybe some vanilla and almond? And mild floral scents. A warm, cozy, and sweet scent. I have also learned that organic products have a distinctive scent, and this one does too. But it is well masked. The scent is mild, and those who are sensitive to strong scents will probably like this one. The scent also doesn't linger long on the skin, so it won't conflict with any perfume. So this is not a body lotion to be used as a perfume, but as a lotion. As a lotion, it is probably not for the driest skin. But for young skin without any particular challenges, this lotion is very good. It contains shea butter, jojoba oil, and aloe vera – which the skin loves. But also lactic acid and vitamin A. The lotion is both softening and nourishing. I have (very) sensitive skin and tolerated it well. I also have mature skin, and the lotion won't be enough for my drier winter skin. But now in summer, it will be nice. I liked the consistency, and it absorbed quickly. It did not leave a sticky layer on the skin. I also noticed that the bottle was not filled up, and there can be many reasons for that. It is possible estelle&thild buys standardized containers from another supplier, or it is for technical or practical reasons – where the lotion gets a larger volume during transport (heat and/or pressure). As a Lyko influencer tester, I have tested products from estelle&thild several times, and it is a company I have a good impression of and that has many good products. All in all, I think this body lotion is a safe and good choice. The body lotion was part of the By LYKO Lovables inspo-kit.

That matches what you describe. Organic products smell different. But I have a little bit of trouble with woody scents. But it can smell different when you have it on your skin, either wonderful or the opposite. Of course, fantastic on you, beautiful 🥥💐🤎

    I need another one soon🌸

Rituals products are generally strongly scented, but this one is a bit milder. It is a mist, not a perfume. Therefore, the scent doesn't last very long. I've never used the mist on skin and hair, but a couple of gentle sprays over the duvet and pillow before I go to bed. To me, it feels calming to go to sleep with a mild, fresh, but also slightly warm floral scent. My bottle is almost empty (it's very economical) and then I have to order another bottle🌸🌸🌸
