đ¸ LUXURY FOR THE HAIR
This review was written in 2023 â but for the 500 ml variant that has been discontinued from LYKO's range. 2023: I took LYKO's hair test to get tips and advice on which products might suit my hair. And I am super satisfied! đ¸ My hair: fine â but thick â Nordic. It is exposed to A LOT of wear and tear. I work out actively â both indoors and outdoors â so I wash my hair almost every day. I was recommended KĂŠrastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant Shampoo (+ conditioner and treatment from the same brand and series, Genesis). Here is what I think: đ Nice design. đ Lovely scent. đ Economical â I need a very small amount of shampoo. đ Hair feels clean, soft, and healthy. đ And my hair tolerates a lot more, no doubt about it. đ All in all, KĂŠrastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant Shampoo gives a feeling of luxury and well-being. đą KĂŠrastase focuses on climate and environment. They have reduced the amount of plastic in the bottles, and just by redesigning the caps, 45 tons of plastic are saved annually. The bottles are also made of 95% recycled plastic. đ¸ I use KĂŠrastase Genesis shampoo, conditioner, and treatment together with Davroe Ends Repair Leave-In Treatment and Wella Professionals Invigo Sun. đ I am SO satisfied â I both feel and see that my hair is well taken care of. đŻ I will stick 100% to the recommendations given by LYKO's own hairdressers â because they are absolutely right for me and my hair. Today: I have used this series since then, and according to my hairdresser, I rarely have such healthy hair, especially considering that I have reached menopause. My hair is naturally super straight and therefore to make it all blend together I need to style them. I use before my hairstyling always the heat protection from BjĂśrn Axen. Which I like but still would like to try another brand next. Also they get very silky, smooth and look very shiny afterwards. I think it's really good quality for the price. đđť I curl the front hair always a bit to the inside but I have never used to fully curl my hair with it, as I am not that talented to do it with a straighter đ . Testing a bottle of Olaplex's Bond Smoother now, and unfortunately I have to say I haven't noticed as much effect as I hoped forđ I think the hair looks so greasy if you apply it to dry hair. So now I've only used it on towel-dried hair before blow-drying, since it is heat-protective and reduces frizz𼰠I think it works fine for that, but nothing Wow. I'll probably try other products to see if they work better. I actually had pretty high expectations for this series! It smells really good, and my hair feels soft and nice afterwards. BUT⌠unfortunately, I find it a bit difficult to use. The whole series gives quite a lot of purple pigment, and I canât leave it in my hair too long before I start turning purple â especially in the lengths. đ Also, my hands turn purple when I rinse it out, even though I try to be quick. So even though both the scent and the feel in the hair are very good, itâs a bit impractical for me. This one has a really nice scent, and I was hoping for a bit more after using it. Unfortunately, I didn't notice any particularly big difference in my curls, so for me it was a bit "just okay." Good product, but not for me
Kevin Murphy's moisturizing conditioner does what itâs supposed to and a bit more. The product contains a lighter type of silicones, is more concentrated than conditioners you find in grocery stores, and has a high content of nourishing ingredients. I used the conditioner with and without Kevin Murphy's detox shampoo, and with moisturizing shampoo from the same brand. Especially after using the detox shampoo, I would say the conditioner is necessary. My hair is typically Nordic, untreated, and a bit dry. I didnât feel the conditioner weighed it down. The hair became soft and shiny. The cap was impossible for me to open. So I either had to use a tool or unscrew it. Thatâs too inconvenient. It also smells strongly of perfume, and the scent lingers. It smells of bergamot, lemon, wood, and spices, not like the typical sweet floral scent many other shampoos and conditioners have. Thereâs no doubt that Kevin Murphy is a very good brand with very good products. But for me, this conditioner is not a necessity right now; the design is too poor and the scent too strong. If your hair really needs care, I recommend Kevin Murphyâs moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. You can also try using it as a hair mask and leave the product in your hair for 10-15 minutes, but as a leave-in itâs too heavy.
