After using Maria Nila's Head & Hair Heal shampoo and conditioner for a few weeks, I am convinced to switch from my regular brand. First, a bit about my hair: 👵🏻 I have typical Nordic hair. The strands are fine, but there are very many of them. My hair is in the early years of menopause, and I expect thinner hair and hair loss in the coming years. 🌪️ My hair is exposed to quite a bit of wear from chlorinated water, heat tools, hair ties, freezing temperatures, headsets, and hats. I also regularly take medications that have hair loss as a side effect. 🏆 I honestly don’t think I’ll find a shampoo and conditioner that better meets my needs. 🫧 The shampoo is gentle and mild, it prevents hair loss and promotes hair growth, provides moisture and care, and protects against wear. 🫧 It also protects against dandruff and scalp fungus for those who have these issues. And it protects colored hair. 🌸 I found the shampoo very easy to distribute and rinse out. I think it smells absolutely heavenly. It’s fresh, light, and floral. I don’t find the scent too strong (but also not discreet enough for those who dislike perfumed products). 🌸 I like the design a lot. The color reflects the scent – a mild floral fragrance. The bottle fits well in the hand and it’s easy to snap open the cap. 🥰 And the hair feels so good afterward. I found my hair easy to comb, it became light and airy (and as mentioned, I had thin hair), shiny and pleasantly scented. 💰 And it’s economical. This review was written in 2023 – but for the 500 ml variant that has been discontinued from LYKO's range. 2023: I took LYKO's hair test to get tips and advice on which products might suit my hair. And I am super satisfied! 🌸 My hair: fine – but thick – Nordic. It is exposed to A LOT of wear and tear. I work out actively – both indoors and outdoors – so I wash my hair almost every day. I was recommended Kérastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant Shampoo (+ conditioner and treatment from the same brand and series, Genesis). Here is what I think: 💎 Nice design. 💎 Lovely scent. 💎 Economical – I need a very small amount of shampoo. 💎 Hair feels clean, soft, and healthy. 💎 And my hair tolerates a lot more, no doubt about it. 💎 All in all, Kérastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant Shampoo gives a feeling of luxury and well-being. 🌱 Kérastase focuses on climate and environment. They have reduced the amount of plastic in the bottles, and just by redesigning the caps, 45 tons of plastic are saved annually. The bottles are also made of 95% recycled plastic. 🌸 I use Kérastase Genesis shampoo, conditioner, and treatment together with Davroe Ends Repair Leave-In Treatment and Wella Professionals Invigo Sun. 💘 I am SO satisfied – I both feel and see that my hair is well taken care of. 🎯 I will stick 100% to the recommendations given by LYKO's own hairdressers – because they are absolutely right for me and my hair. I always get comments from hairdressers that my scalp looks so red and irritated, without really understanding why it happens. So when LYKO had this creator deal, I just had to try this series with shampoo and conditioner! They contain Piroctone olamine and natural Aloe Vera extract which treats and prevents dandruff and scalp problems. It’s also supposed to be good for hair growth. I've used this series a couple of times now and notice a difference in that my scalp is less irritated🤩 so this was top-notch for me. I actually had pretty high expectations for this series! It smells really good, and my hair feels soft and nice afterwards. BUT… unfortunately, I find it a bit difficult to use. The whole series gives quite a lot of purple pigment, and I can’t leave it in my hair too long before I start turning purple – especially in the lengths. 😅 Also, my hands turn purple when I rinse it out, even though I try to be quick. So even though both the scent and the feel in the hair are very good, it’s a bit impractical for me. Not bad at all
There is no doubt that this cleansing shampoo works very well. But it has some challenges. I have typical Nordic hair – very many, but very thin strands. The hair is untreated and I rarely use products. But when I do, this cleansing shampoo would be a good choice. I struggled a lot to open the cap. And this applies to all bottles of this variant from Kevin Murphy. I had to use a flat iron to flip it open. And the cap remains difficult to open. So if you absolutely want to buy this product, and maybe aren’t very strong in your fingers, you should pour the contents into another bottle. The scent does not work for me at all. Because if you are like me and grew up with an old-fashioned cabin without running water, the scent profile is composed in a way that can remind you of a type of lime product used in connection with those. Those who know, know. I also find the scent strong, and it lingers for a long time. My hair became clean and nice, and I had no reactions. I used it together with the Hydrate-me.rinse shampoo and conditioner from the same brand. For me, it foamed very well, was easy to rinse out, and the hair did not get tired. But as mentioned, my hair is quite thin – that might be the reason. Sometimes it’s hard to give the right number of stars to a product – because one thing is what I think about it for personal use, and another is how it works generally. The product is very good and deserves 5 stars, but for me personally, it didn’t fit so well.
