The Body Shop Charcoal Pore-Minimising Mask is the kind of face mask I choose when my skin feels tired, dull, or in need of a thorough deep cleanse. The first thing I like is the texture – it really feels like a classic clay mask and you immediately get the sensation of a more intensive treatment at home. The mask is based on ingredients including kaolin, Moroccan clay, and charcoal. It also contains green tea, tea tree oil, and exfoliating particles. The Body Shop describes it as an exfoliating clay mask that absorbs excess oil and helps remove dirt and impurities. The charcoal in the current formula is also designed to visibly reduce the appearance of pores. (The Body Shop ) What I especially like is how the skin feels afterwards. When the mask is washed off, I get that really clean and fresh feeling, and the skin surface feels smoother. For me, this is not a moisturizing comfort mask, but rather a product I bring out when I want to give my pores and skin a thorough cleansing. Another detail I appreciate is that the mask also provides a gentle exfoliating effect when rinsed off. I therefore use gentle circular motions and let the product do the work instead of scrubbing hard. The Body Shop’s recommendation is to apply an even layer, avoid eyes and lips, let the mask work for about 10–15 minutes, and then rinse off with circular motions. (The Body Shop ) I also think it pairs very well with the Tea Tree products. The charcoal mask becomes my more intensive deep cleanser while Tea Tree 3-in-1 can be used in several ways. It feels like a good combination when the focus is on pores, impurities, and a more even skin texture. However, there is one thing I think is important to mention: this is quite an active mask. The formula contains denatured alcohol, menthol, tea tree oil, and exfoliating ingredients. (The Body Shop ) Therefore, I wouldn’t overuse it or combine it with several strong acids and peels on the same evening. Afterwards, I prefer something soothing and moisturizing. For me, the biggest advantage is the result immediately after use. The skin feels thoroughly cleansed, fresh, and smooth, while the pores appear less noticeable when the skin is clean. I also like the fresh feeling during use – it really feels like you’ve had a little salon treatment at home. I have tried Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture in the shade P2 Rose No Taboo, and the first thing that caught me was the color. What I like the most is that the color has a lot of personality without feeling too heavy. I actually tried the lipstick without any other makeup on my face, and that’s when I really understood how much a nice lip color can do. I had no foundation, no mascara, no blush, and no eyeshadow – just this pink lipstick. Despite that, the whole face immediately felt fresher and more alive. The color really became the star of the look, and I think that’s a big plus. The shade is quite bold and intense, so this is not a lipstick for those who just want an almost invisible pink tone. However, the result can be adjusted. A thin layer gives a softer and fresher impression, while several layers make the color significantly more intense and eye-catching. I like products that can be used in different ways depending on mood and occasion. I also think the pink tone feels very nice during spring and summer. On sun-kissed skin, it can become a really lovely contrast. At the same time, I can definitely imagine using it throughout the rest of the year when I want a bit more color and energy in my makeup. The formula feels comfortable on the lips and gives an elegant satin finish. I appreciate that the lips still look soft and don’t get the dry feeling that some more matte lipsticks can give. For me, comfort is important, especially when I want to wear a lipstick for several hours. The packaging and the whole feel are also very typical YSL – luxurious and elegant. I have tested Kérastase Nutritive 8H Magic Night Serum as part of my evening hair routine for 3 months, and this is actually a product I have changed my opinion about since my first experience was not particularly impressive... When I started using it, my hair was in significantly worse condition than it is today. The first few times, I almost felt like my hair felt worse the next morning... a bit stiff and almost like chewing gum in texture. But after improving my overall hair care routine and getting my hair in better condition, I started to notice something completely different. Now I feel that the serum really can do its job 🩷 I only use it the evening after washing my hair, on lengths and ends, and let it work overnight. The next morning, the lengths feel softer, more manageable, and well cared for, and I think the hair gets a nicer shine and less frizz. It actually made me think about how much the starting condition of the hair affects how a product is experienced. Sometimes it might not be the product that is wrong, the hair might simply need a different type of care first. I have used this conditioner every time I washed my hair in the last seven weeks, and I am sold!! 🙌🏼 Why haven't I tried this earlier? A bit about my hair: I have long, thick, and very full hair with a mix of waves and curls. Lots of frizz, unruliness, dryness, and dullness. Therefore, I rely on good care products, both in the shower and afterwards, to avoid looking like a fluffy sheep or Hagrid from Harry Potter 🤭 This hydrating conditioner suits me perfectly! One of the things I like best about it is how light and fluid it is compared to many others. At first, I was a bit scared of this and thought this formula couldn't possibly give me enough moisture and care, but I was thoroughly wrong. The consistency makes it super easy to distribute evenly throughout the hair, and without having to use tons of product. I don't know if it's magic or how it works – it just does! A tip from Kevin Murphy is not to rinse out the conditioner completely but to leave 30-40% of the product in the hair after washing. Of course, I had to try this (even though I was a bit afraid the hair would feel greasy or weighed down), but it worked SO well! I always use nourishing products like leave-ins, curl creams, hair oils, etc., after washing my hair, but since I started doing this, I have to use much less product because this gives such great results 💜 I have used this in combination with the matching shampoo and detox shampoo from the same brand. The detox shampoo cleans the hair very effectively but can make the hair a bit extra dry. This shampoo has been a staple in my shower for seven weeks now, so I thought it was time for a review. My hair is thick and full with both waves and curls. It can therefore quickly feel dull, dry, frizzy, and unmanageable – and needs a lot of moisture and care. One advantage is that it doesn’t get greasy quickly, and I only need to wash my hair a couple of times a week, despite having a somewhat dry and sensitive scalp. I really liked this one, and there’s no doubt it gives the hair a good dose of moisture. My hair feels so soft and clean after using this. Because it’s so moisturizing, it can weigh the hair down a bit, but that’s minimal and in my case contributes to a smoother and shinier look! ✨ It smells really nice without being too strong or overpowering, and the scent fades quite quickly. It’s gentle on the scalp and hasn’t caused any irritation. Together with the simple but classic packaging, this leads to a luxurious experience. The only downside is that I have to use a bit more product than usual to get my hair properly clean, so it’s not very economical. All in all, I’m very satisfied and can definitely recommend this! Effective detox that's gentle on hair and scalp 💚
I've been using this detox shampoo every 3-4 washes for seven weeks now, and I have a good impression of it. It cleans the hair and removes product buildup very well. It dries out the hair a bit, as you can expect from a detox shampoo, but not more than similar products. Together with the Hydrate-Me conditioner from Kevin Murphy, this dryness is no longer noticeable. 💆🏽♀️ My scalp is on the dry side and a bit sensitive, so I'm always a bit skeptical about trying new hair products, especially when they're deep cleansing. This caused no irritation, itching, or increased dryness, but I felt it was on the milder side and could have cleansed the scalp a bit more. That's the only thing I have to criticize, but again, this is perfect for the more sensitive as well. I need only a small amount of product for it to be effective, so it's economical to use, and since it doesn't need to be used that often, it will last a long time.
