5 min "blowdry"
Here comes a styling hack that can give you a fake blowout in no time! Or at least make it look like you spent more than 5 minutes fixing your hair! You need: * A curling iron or wand of some sort. Here I’m using my fave from GHD, Curve Classic Wave Wand * A heat protectant * A dry shampoo (if you need to refresh the roots or maybe just want a bit more volume, you can of course skip this) * A texturizing spray. To get a bit of hold in the lengths but also to build some volume (I love texturizing spray at the front near the bangs!) Start by spraying dry shampoo at the roots, massage it in and brush through. Then spray a heat protectant! In the video, I’m using Björn Axén’s heat protectant, if you want more hold, I recommend Maria Nila shaping heat spray (amazing!!) Now you put your hair up in a high ponytail, optional if you want to leave out bangs/front section. Then divide the hair into two or three sections, I divide into two and curl about 3 pieces in each section. Finish with the front section. Before you let your hair down, spray with texturizing spray (of course, you can also set it with a bit of hairspray if you want) Let your hair down, spray more texturizing spray if desired. Shape your hair with your fingers. You can leave it as it is or you can brush it through for a softer look. I usually choose to finish with a light holding hairspray and a drop of oil (I was really in a hurry haha, so that didn’t make it into the video) Have you tried this trick before? More definition!
I'm continuing to embrace my natural waves and find the best way to style it!🤗 I've seen many videos where a special brush from #denman has been used to define the curls more. Did I buy one? Yes, of course! 🤩 In general, I like it when I get wider strands (”clumps” in English) rather than many thin ones, but many hairs seem to get it even though it's narrow between the bristles in the brush, so I'm testing! There are many techniques for this, and I've only half-heartedly tried to brush through strand by strand (wet) and shake them a bit so they grab onto each other. Before that, I applied all products except the oil. I applied the oil after I scrunched the curls/waves and blow-dried the hair completely dry with a diffuser. I take the oil in my hands when I scrunch out the hard curls so they get a bit of moisture and bounce. I think the hair turned out nice, even though I still prefer wider strands and miss my best mousse (Bed head Tigi Foxy Curls). Next time, I will try to twist the brush a bit and see if it creates more “spiral-like” strands. Curls and Shu Uemura Ultimate Reset Treatment
Soon I can write a full review of the product, but here comes a little interim report on what my natural curls think of the mask that is a bit too good to be true: The mask is VERY nourishing, and I was afraid the curls would become heavy. The photo with the black shirt is after regular wash+styling, and the others are the day after I washed with the mask and refreshed the curls a bit. The curls don’t have as much volume with the mask, but I wouldn’t say they are heavier, just different. The hair doesn’t feel heavy and stretched, as I was afraid of, but the curls are more gathered (so more hair in each curl) and the curls/waves are softer. Some of the curls/waves around the face are honestly almost perfect, if that’s the look you’re going for. The look with more volume (last photo) has its expression and is maybe a bit more festive, the look after the mask is softer.
