✨ Today's makeup look ✨ Today has been busy with visits together with my son – a real running day between different errands. So the makeup had to be quick and simple. It became a light look with focus on the most important – on with the lashes and hair up, done! ✅ I skipped bronzer today and only went with blush, which I actually love sometimes. Gym look, before and after
Here you can see how my makeup looked before and after the gym. As you can probably see in my hair in the second picture, I must have sweated! The last picture is from my workout, where I trained, among other things, biceps. Proud of myself for managing both 5kg and 6kg dumbbells. I'm not quite ready for a full set with 6kg yet but can handle one round (10 reps) well. Usually do 10-12 reps three times. I trained my upper body yesterday, which is not my favorite, but I also want to get stronger in my upper body. Who doesn't love leg day? It's definitely my favorite ❤️ On my face, I have dip brow from Anastasia Beverly Hills, day cream from LYKO, concealer from NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP, blush from Kicks brand Beauty Acts, cream bronzer from Fenty Beauty, and the lip combo is from LYKO. Make em Wonder foundation and powder that I was positively surprised by. 🥰 The foundation that feels like a foundation, it’s been a long time since a classic foundation was released, has a good consistency that is easy to apply with fingers, sponge, and brush. It has good coverage and a good color match for me. It dries down well and stays where it’s applied and doesn’t feel heavy. The powder is just as great as the foundation, giving a blurred filter look that also lasts throughout the day. It doesn’t feel on the skin. Jo malone is one of my favorite brands. 🤩 English pear&freesia which is a lovely uplifting floral, juicy pear, aquatic and fresh scent. Reminds me of a blooming garden while walking around eating a juicy pear. 😍 Honeysuckle & Davana an uplifting floral, fruity, moist green moss and hint of aromatic scent. Gives strong vintage vibes of the 1920s. 🙂 Oud & Bergamot a smoky wood scent as oud often smells and aromatic scent. And here are my thoughts specifically on the Fenty Beauty Body Allover Body Mist Hey Bouquet Mini 🌸🤍 ⭐️ First impression The packaging was very summery, sweet, and floral💞💐 The body mist itself felt quite strong at first when sprayed. The scent initially seemed almost a bit more on the “masculine” side.🗿🌷 After a while on the skin, however, the scent changes and becomes much more floral and sweet 🌸 while still retaining a slightly darker, almost woody tone. The scent also lasts quite long on the skin, at least in my case!✨ ⭐️ My experience with the product: Good things: 🩷 Sweet packaging 🤍 Very summery and floral scent after a while 🩷 The scent lasts relatively long on the skin 🤍 Small and handy size that is easy to carry Less good things: 🩷 The scent is a bit too strong for me. 🤍 For my personal taste, it becomes a bit too intense and almost too sweet and masculine at the same time😅 ⭐️ Summary: A body mist with a fairly strong start that then develops into a more floral, sweet, and summery scent with a slightly darker woody tone.🌸🌿 Personally, I prefer more subtle and natural scents, so unfortunately it was a bit too intense for me. I've found inspiration to start going to the gym again. Lifting weights is my thing. Tagging products below that I use when I just want to do a quick everyday look that doesn't take much time. I use powder from BeautyAct (Kicks' own brand) so it's not available here on Lyko but everything else is. ❤️ In the first picture, you can see my gym look. In the second picture, you can see how my face looks afterward. LYKO Their makeup brushes I find very good value. Better than Gleeze 🙈 Lyko's face cream with SPF30 works very well under makeup! Great value product!! 😍 As usual, I love the setting spray from Urban Decay. Misguided Criticism
After testing this during intense days at school (stylist studies), I can only say: WOW. Here’s why I love it, and why I think some criticism against it is misguided. Performance under pressure 🛠️ I used this yesterday during a blowout session. I was standing, working with the hairdryer, and sweating heavily, but the base stayed put! Nothing became "patchy" or blotchy. It really holds the base together in an impressive way. Setting spray vs. eye makeup 🎨 I often see criticism that it doesn’t "set" eyeshadow or eyeliner well enough, but honestly: • The right tool for the right job: Eye makeup is best set with eyeshadow primer, glue, or powder. • Pro tip: If you look at licensed MUAs, you often see they cover the eyes when spraying. Testing a spray based on how well the eyeliner holds isn’t, in my opinion, fair. For me, it’s enough that it fixes the base! Tell me please if I’m wrong! User experience • The spray: The spray function itself is absolutely magical! It’s such a fine mist, not those big drops you can get from other bottles. • The feel: The scent is just right (not too strong) and it feels incredibly refreshing on the face. Conclusion: A new favorite! I absolutely can’t find anything negative to say. If you want a base that holds through sweaty work sessions without cracking, this is the one you want. Just saying wow wow what a great mirror. You can see everything, every little pimple in the brightest, coldest light. You really nailed this one. Such a nice and good mirror, and you get closer than the big one I have on the wall, which is too far away since I have a glass table, so you have to stand, or like I had before this, just a small round mirror. This one really feels luxurious and has now found its place on the table, but it’s not so heavy to move if you want, as some others experience. I picked mine up today and am so grateful since it was thanks to my points because there were so many orders in March. So now the new ones are ordered and after testing other brands for several years, there’s something about Lyko’s that is better for them—they are softer and better no matter how many I’ve tested, and with hair removal cream and waiting the time, then gently scrubbing with this and lukewarm water, suddenly soft and smooth everywhere you want hihi 😜.
