Spring with Essence and the gang
I love doing my makeup when I've got a bit of color! Today I used Nyx glue face primer, Isadora CC cream and brow pencil, W7 tandrops, a bit of Male up store wonder powder for some glow (I use it quite often as a highlighter since it's super glowy), blush from The balm and Essence I tried the two matte shadows from Essence and I just say WOW. Such good shadows for such a good price (30 SEK each) is almost ridiculous. They are at least as good as the shadows in their nude palette and the brown is the perfect shade to have in the crease to build subtle depth! Decubal on the lips and the tubing mascara from Essence. This bronzer gives a soft result, where you can choose between getting a natural look or building up more color for a stronger shade. The medium color is a neutral/cool tone (which suits me as I don’t want to turn orange). The formula melts into the skin, so you don’t have to spend a long time blending it out. An important detail is that the formula is buildable. You can start light and then add more. This makes it safe to use even if you’re new. The application This is where the product really shines. You can use: * brush * sponge * fingers You can get a good result with all three methods, which is quite unusual for a bronzer. But the best result comes from a brush + setting spray. Here’s how I do it: * pick up bronzer with a denser brush * apply it to the areas where you want your bronzer * spray some setting spray on a less dense brush * work the product into the skin with the less dense brush It makes a big difference, both in application and in longevity. Why it works: * the product becomes creamier (even though it’s INCREDIBLY creamy from the start) * it glides more easily on the skin and melts together with the base The result becomes smoother and more natural. Was tasked with testing this setting spray & here is my opinion: Background: No direct experience with setting sprays. All makeup on my face except mascara disappears at the slightest mishap, so I was very excited to try. Dry skin 😇First impression: The packaging is SO PRETTY, it makes me so happy when I see it. I like the "spray" itself, comes out just the right amount & spreads nicely on the face. The scent is not nice. Doesn't feel sticky after application. Dries quickly 😃My opinion: I am positively surprised & very happy with this product. There is another one that is matte but I’m glad I got to try this one as I liked prepping with it & getting a lot of moisture, setting the makeup & then reapplying during the day to bring the makeup back to life. It even held the makeup after I sweated on the bike 😅 (and my makeup usually does NOT hold up to sweat/water etc., it gives up immediately) ☺️Conclusion: Good setting spray, like prepping with it, setting the makeup & then reapplying & freshening up the face after a few hours. The durability is acceptable (not perfect) but there are definitely better ones on the market. Perfect timing to try this when my All Nighter just ran out. 🤩 Honestly, I think I've never come across a setting spray that makes makeup stay like a rock all day, and I can't give this a fair review on that since I've only tried it once. So my preferences in a setting spray are really hydration, that it makes the makeup sit nicely, and glow, and this ticks all three boxes ✅️ I thought it smelled quite a lot of alcohol when I opened it, we all know alcohol is drying 🙄, but I didn't notice that after using the spray.
