I had planned to do a real eye makeup for the 30th birthday party yesterday, but I changed my mind along the way, so it turned into a lighter makeup with some of my favorites, and I also tried the setting powder from Make up store for the first time. Good primer!
I have tested this primer from #nyx and I am positively surprised! The first impression is that this looks a bit scary because of the packaging, but I was surprised that it doesn't feel artificial from the inside✨ It has no fragrance which makes it feel safer to have as a base, it is a bit sticky but easy to spread on the skin. Best grip primer I've tried
I have as #lykoinflutester gotten to try this primer from #nyx I am definitely satisfied with it, as the blurring effect it is supposed to have worked for me. I have a combination skin type that gets a bit drier now that it’s starting to get colder, with some enlarged pores. Therefore, I was extra happy about this one, as other grip primers I’ve tried don’t suit my skin type and/or cause the foundation to clump. Soft and lovely consistency that sinks into the skin while leaving a slightly sticky surface that absorbs foundation and other cream products. The reason it doesn’t get five stars is that the oiliness on my forehead creeps out after a couple of hours, and I think a blurring primer should counteract that as well. But that’s a "me problem" and someone with normal to dry skin would probably have fared better in that regard. I have normal/combo skin that can get surface dry and a bit rosy. I am 44 years old and have fine lines and wrinkles. I think the packaging is ugly-cute. As in it actually LOOKS like a glue bottle. Not attractive to have glue on your face, but happy colors and I can appreciate the little nozzle because you don’t need much. Classy look? No. Fun? Yes. Or yeah… I understand what they’re going for. That said, my doubtful words end there because regardless of the packaging, I REALLY like the content. The consistency is a bit like a day cream, not sticky. I think it sits nicely on the skin (applied with fingers) and CC creams and foundations lay well on it. I also use Lumene’s CC cream, Lumene blur foundation, and Isadora CC cream. Even Id bare minerals mineral foundation works well on it. And the thing is, I have more base than ever to cleanse with micellar water in the evening, which must mean that the base holds better than usual. Rosé Gold Hair
Or maybe rosé silver 😌 because the shade is quite cool. But pink shade anyway. I have continued to mix a little differently depending on where in the hair it should be applied. The underhair is quite dark blonde, so there I have more of the pink. In the overhair, I have more of beige blonde, and closest to the face, I have even more mixing. This time I tried to mix it with shampoo because I’ve heard it can be easier to distribute evenly that way. Yes, it was actually a bit easier to distribute (even though it feels wrong to mix shampoo and treatment 😅) I added a little bit of cacao intense this time so it wouldn’t become too red-pink. Cacao intense is very cool, so it gives that effect. I’m satisfied! Maybe it became a little too little pink in the front, but I enjoy being able to vary how much pink I want/don’t want to show, and it’s still more pink than if I hadn’t put anything in. Love the formula! But wish it was more pigmented:( It looked really good in the video because I already had creamy blush underneath in the same color. But it barely shows when I use it by itself. Otherwise, nice and easy to work with. A little sticky, but is that the point?
NYX's Glue Primer does exactly what it promises it keeps makeup in place all day! The skin feels smooth and even after application, and the foundation applies incredibly well without sliding around. It gives a sticky feeling that really helps the makeup stay put, even through humid days. Not a super fan of how sticky it is, but is that maybe the point? I especially like that it gives a little extra glow without being greasy, and that it works for almost all skin types. The only small downside is that it can feel a bit sticky for the first few seconds before it dries, but once it sets, the result is fantastic! Eyeliner- ish 🥰
I have "soft eyes" that easily tear up and my eyelids get moist. I gave up on soft eyeliner with wings a long time ago and I use waterproof kajal/eyeliner or shadow that I apply (on Urban Decay's primer potion EDEN of course) along the lash line with a flat brush. A third option is to use a long-lasting eyeshadow stick that I drag a little along the outer lash line and blend more or less. Today I really blended "less" (i.e. nothing😅) because I'm lazy and barely made up, but still wanted to test my eyeshadow pencil from Gosh and have SOMETHING more than mascara. If I had wanted to, I could have also taken a flat brush, sprayed a little fixing primer, and patted dark shadow along the lash line since the pencil works almost like a primer in itself. But that will have to be another day 🤗 Otherwise, I just have Estee Lauder's tinted day cream over my regular skincare from Filorga, a little cream rouge from Nilens Jord (Danish brand), the concealer from It Cosmetics under my eyes, and the brow gel from Nyx on my brows. Yesterday I tried this foundation from Lancome. I don’t buy an expensive foundation “on a whim” but I want to test them first, and I got a little sample of this one. I like it, but honestly, it reminds me a lot of Lumene’s Cc-cream in coverage, maybe liiiiiitle more covering but not much. The shade 220C worked well since I haven’t used any BUS, but if I were to buy it, I would probably need a darker one to mix with. On my eyelids, I have a taupe/gray-purple-beige eyeshadow pencil from Danish GOSH, and it was really nice and seems to be long-lasting. It needs to be tested more! Unfortunately, it seems that this one isn’t sold here at Lyko, but there are some older products available here (I assume since I bought it in Copenhagen and they should have the newest ☺️ I also bought a green eyeshadow pencil, a brown “duo-cream eyeshadow” where one is matte and the other is glittery, as well as an eyeshadow palette that I will swatch here since it’s sold at Lyko! I’m extra curious about the green shade in the palette (which looks more gray on Lyko’s site). So incredibly fun that you are now seven hundred girls and boys who find it interesting to see what I spend my money on instead of saving for retirement 🤪💸🤭🥰 I love that I share the interest in color and form with so many and am glad that there are more who think it’s completely normal to have the same lipstick in eight shades, have several eyeshadow palettes in the same color range, and that you can never test too many hair masks 🫶🏼😁 You can tell that autumn is on the way when you start mixing your summer foundation with a step lighter shade 🍂 Yesterday was a party, and to make the makeup last, I had to go from CC cream to a more solid foundation in Lumene's Blur foundation. It’s more covering but still quite light in consistency.
