After testing this during intense days at school (stylist studies), I can only say: WOW. Here’s why I love it, and why I think some criticism against it is misguided. Performance under pressure 🛠️ I used this yesterday during a blowout session. I was standing, working with the hairdryer, and sweating heavily, but the base stayed put! Nothing became "patchy" or blotchy. It really holds the base together in an impressive way. Setting spray vs. eye makeup 🎨 I often see criticism that it doesn’t "set" eyeshadow or eyeliner well enough, but honestly: • The right tool for the right job: Eye makeup is best set with eyeshadow primer, glue, or powder. • Pro tip: If you look at licensed MUAs, you often see they cover the eyes when spraying. Testing a spray based on how well the eyeliner holds isn’t, in my opinion, fair. For me, it’s enough that it fixes the base! Tell me please if I’m wrong! As an aspiring makeup stylist, I've started to take a closer look at what my favorite products actually contain. I've loved this shampoo for its scent and shine, but now I understand why my brown color (which has bleached hair underneath) fades so quickly. Analysis: The main ingredient is Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES). As we learn in training, sulfates are effective at dissolving oils and dirt, but they also open up the hair strand's cuticle. For porous, colored hair, this means the color pigments literally get washed out from the inside. Are sulfates always bad? No, absolutely not! They are great as a 'Clarifying Shampoo' when you need a thorough cleaning of styling residues or have a very oily scalp. But as a daily shampoo to 'preserve color' (as the name Color Vive suggests), it works less well. The shine you experience mainly comes from silicones (Dimethicone) that form a coating on the outside, which 'masks' the fact that the pigments are actually disappearing. Pros: Gives incredible shine and scent. Good pH balance with citric acid (but the sulfate dominates here). Affordable for uncolored hair. A multistyler at a super price that gets the job done!!
I've always had trouble getting curls to hold, no matter what I've used. I got a feeling when I saw that GA.MA's new multistyler was 50 percent off, and wow, it delivered better than expected! 🤯 It has three heat settings and a cool shot mode. I've tested all the attachments except the diffuser for curls. It gives me: ✨️ Volume and a fantastic blowout ✨️ Perfect curls that last for several days even without a ton of products for hold. (Never happened to me before) ✨️ Silky smooth, shiny hair with the flat iron. ✨️ The paddle brush feels gentle when brushing with heat in half-damp hair after a shower. It also gives volume or flatter hair depending on how you choose to use it. 💭 I also like that it has three heat settings, so it feels gentler on the hair and I don't have to max out the heat. It's light in the hand and easy to work with. The only downside I can think of is that it sounds quite loud on the highest setting. But it also feels like a real turbo blower, so maybe that's quite reasonable. About two years ago, I had to cut all my hair off due to illness. I am so happy with how much it has grown since then! But now I felt it was time for a new color. ☺️ My starting point was natural, light brown ash. It looks lighter in daylight, but I am level 6, and often I look like level 5 (my profile picture for example). I was tempted by "Mushroom brown", but it was hard to get it to work at home. So I decided to go back to a semi-permanent color that I have used before - Loreal Casting Crème Gloss! I chose 515 Iced Chocolate, which is an ashy mahogany. I wanted to keep an ashy undertone but with a touch of red. For those who don’t know, the numbers reveal the color. The first number is how dark/light the color is (5=Light Brown), the second number is the shade (1=Ash) and the last is the secondary shade (5=Mahogany). My hair turned out redder than expected, especially in certain lights, but it will tone down after a few washes. I will probably also use a color bomb to adjust the shade a bit, but overall I am very satisfied! 🥰 In the picture, you can see my hair before and after coloring!
