It’s really thick and rich when you first get it out, but when you start massaging it in, it almost melts into the skin and leaves a lovely glow. I love both of these products and they complement each other well in my skincare routine! Morning: Klairs – Fundamental Nourishing Eye Butter A slightly richer cream that absorbs quickly and gives so much moisture. You don’t get dry at all during the day but really feel hydrated all day long! It smooths out dryness lines and gives an instant fresh look. It’s also the best base under concealer, makeup sits so nicely and it doesn’t get cakey at all. I prefer to apply more rather than less so I really feel hydrated. Evening: Beauty of Joseon – Revive Eye Serum (Ginseng + Retinal) A product I probably will never stop using. The texture is so nice, a bit thinner, it sits really well on the skin and dries quickly! I recently compared with pictures from a year ago and the difference is huge. My thin, dry skin under the eyes has become so much smoother, more even, and has gotten a fantastic glow. Sometimes I even apply it on my whole face, neck, and hands ☺️ Since it contains retinal, it’s quite a strong and effective product. I personally can use it every evening but if you have sensitive skin or aren’t used to retinal, it’s best to start with once a week and test your way forward. I only used gel cleanser before until I understood why two different cleansers are used. 🧴 Step 1 oil cleansing Oil helps to dissolve things that are oil-based, like SPF, makeup, and sebum. I use ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil and massage it onto dry skin before adding water and emulsifying, then I rinse my face. 🫧 Step 2 water-based cleansing After that, I use COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser to remove residue and water-soluble dirt. So it’s not about washing the skin twice as hard, but about using two steps that complement each other. And that’s important, because overly aggressive or excessive cleansing can instead disrupt the skin barrier. That doesn’t mean everyone needs to double cleanse. But if you use SPF or makeup during the day, it can be an interesting step to try in the evening. In the morning, I only use gel cleanser. Afterwards, I gently pat the skin with a soft towel instead of rubbing it dry. I don’t dry my face completely but leave it a bit damp when I continue with my skin-flooding and the rest of my skincare routine. The post was made 1 monthma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil 🧡 review I have been using ma:nyo Pure Cleansing Oil as the first step in my evening routine for a while now, and the first thing I noticed is the texture. It is a fairly lightweight oil that glides easily over the skin without me needing to use much product. I massage it onto dry skin to dissolve the day’s SPF, makeup, and sebum before adding water. It has a very lovely, light citrus scent. But do you know why you should emulsify a cleansing oil? When you add water to the oil, the texture changes and it becomes milky. This is called emulsification and allows the oil to mix with water and then be rinsed off along with what it has dissolved. That’s why I don’t just massage the oil in and rinse off immediately. I add a little water and massage again until it becomes properly milky. Then I rinse off and move on to my water-based cleanser. And ma:nyo is really good at this part, it emulsifies easily and doesn’t leave that heavy, oily feeling that some cleansing oils can. What I like ✨ Light and smooth texture ✨ Effectively dissolves SPF and makeup ✨ Emulsifies easily with water ✨ Rinses off without leaving skin feeling tight ✨ The pump bottle is good and dispenses just the right amount of product ✨ 200 ml makes it feel quite generous 🤍 My reflection What I especially appreciate about ma:nyo is that it makes the first cleanse very easy. I don’t need to rub or use a lot of product to remove the day’s SPF and makeup, and afterwards, the skin feels clean but not dry. It exceeded all expectations! In short, skin flooding is about applying several thin layers of moisturizing products (often with one or more toners as a base) on lightly damp skin. The goal is not to use as many products as possible, but to give the skin moisture in several steps and then lock it in. For me, it has become a way to make the skin feel softer, calmer, and more hydrated. A step in the pursuit of the glow and hydrated skin that many associate with glass skin. I do my skin flooding after cleansing and before serum and moisturizer. In my routine, I use three different toners. The toners I am currently using are: Anua Heartleaf 77% Soothing Toner, Lumene Radiance Boosting Toner, and Beauty of Joseon Glow Replenishing Rice. I don’t use them because it has to be three toners. Each product serves a slightly different function in my routine, and in upcoming posts, I plan to explain more about why I chose these.
