Apparently it has done the exact opposite. 😂 I've been trying different bases from IsaDora, Lumene and e.l.f., experimenting with different finishes and combinations, and every time I think I've decided which one I prefer… I end up back at e.l.f. Today I did another e.l.f. makeup day, and looking at my skin afterwards I'm confused all over again. 😂 The finish looks smooth and natural, there's enough coverage to even everything out, but I can still see skin. It doesn't look like I'm wearing a thick layer of foundation. What I especially like is how it sits on my more mature skin. My texture and lines obviously haven't magically disappeared — nor do I expect them to — but the makeup isn't drawing unnecessary attention to them. The overall finish just looks soft, fresh and really wearable. And then there's my completely unofficial makeup judge: my husband. 😂❤️ I've noticed that he keeps complimenting my makeup when I'm wearing e.l.f. He doesn't care what brand I've used or what foundation I'm testing, so when the same look keeps getting compliments, I have to admit that's making me question my rankings. 😂 I genuinely like IsaDora, and I've had some beautiful results with Lumene too, so I wasn't expecting this decision to become so difficult. But e.l.f. keeps giving me that combination I want: natural-looking skin + good coverage + comfortable wear + a finish that still looks like me and most important for me it will last me all day without worrying about it while I am working outdoors doing yard work and house maintenance. This is actually the only lip pencil I use, and I no longer feel the need to look for more. I got help in-store to find the right shade for me🩷 The All I Am Beauty Perfect Lip Pencil in Deep Nude is a neutral nude that I find unusually easy to use. It doesn’t lean clearly towards pink or orange, which makes it work with many different lip colors. What I like the most is that it doesn’t just work as a contour; I can use it all over the lips and then usually apply a nourishing lip product on top because the pencil can feel a bit dry if I use it alone. What I like ✨ Very nice and neutral color ✨ Works both as a lip pencil and as a full lip color ✨ Easy to combine with different lipsticks ✨ Fits many different makeup looks ✨ Gives a nice, defined lip without the color taking over ✨ A real "go-to" in my makeup bag And it’s probably the neutral color that makes me use it so much. And these are some I can truly recommend 🤗. 🤍 IsaDora No Compromise Lightweight Matte Foundation – 3W This gives me the coverage I want without feeling extremely heavy. Even though it's described as matte, on my skin it doesn't have to look flat, especially when I pair it with more luminous products. I like the way 3W works with my complexion and gives me a more even base while still allowing some natural skin texture to show through. ✨ IsaDora Wake Up the Glow Foundation – 5N I used this together with the 3W foundation and I really like what it adds. It brings back luminosity and makes the overall base look fresher and less matte. For mature skin, I much prefer having this little bit of glow rather than trying to make everything perfectly matte. The combination gives me coverage but still has life to it. 💧 Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer This is the product I'm most divided about. When my skin is having a good, hydrated day, I really like the grip and the way makeup sits over it. But when my skin is drier or just having a bad morning, it can sometimes start to flake/pill on me. Because of that, it's not completely reliable for my skin. I actually prefer my e.l.f. gripping primer slightly more. I haven't noticed the same flaking problem with the e.l.f., so it's the one I feel safer reaching for when I don't know how my skin is going to behave that day. 🤎 e.l.f. bronzer I like the warmth this gives without needing a heavy contour. On mature skin I find that softer bronzing looks much fresher than creating very sharp lines. It gives my face some dimension back after foundation and works nicely with the warmer base. 🌸 e.l.f. blush The blush gives just enough colour to stop the foundation from making my complexion look flat. I especially like this kind of soft rosy colour with my eye colour and reddish hair. In the close-ups it still looks like part of the skin rather than a separate stripe of blush. 👁 IsaDora mascara/eye products The mascara is one of the strongest parts of the finished look for me. It really defines my lashes and opens up my eyes without needing a complicated eye look. With my light eyes, the darker lashes give enough contrast that I can keep the rest of the eye makeup relatively simple. I really enjoy this Isadora mascara more than. Anything else I have tried this one lasts the longest with no flakes and no smudges. ✏️ IsaDora Brow Pencil 💕 I like keeping my brows defined but not extremely drawn-on. Isadora wins on this for me.. 💋 IsaDora lip liner/lip + e.l.f gloss These are seriously a win , they last and feel good all day. They lip liner is easy to apply and is one I found to last the longest for me, also Isadora lipstick glides on and looks fabulous with great lasting power. And I love topping off with little gloss so my favorites right now are e.l.f and bylyko both feel and smell great giving just right amount of gloss. ✨ Make Up Store North Star Duo — I used this for that extra glow on my cheeks. I really like the luminous finish it gives without making the skin look overly glittery. You can still clearly see the sheen in this photo which impressed me! It catches the light beautifully and gives that healthy, glowy-skin look. 💕✨ ⭐ Overall What I like most is that my skin still looks like skin. You can see some pores, fine lines and texture in the close-up photos, but the makeup isn't sitting on top of them in a thick, cakey layer. The IsaDora 3W + Wake Up the Glow 5N combination is especially interesting because I get the coverage of the more matte base with some of the luminosity put back in. The blush, bronzer and glossy lip keep the whole thing soft rather than overly matte. The one product I'm still not completely sold on is Milk Hydro Grip simply because its performance changes depending on how my skin is behaving. Between Milk and e.l.f., e.l.f. Grip wins for consistency on my skin so far. COMPLETELY amazing bronzer!
It is so creamy and easy to work with. Never gets patchy and works perfectly on top of other cream products without lifting the base, which is a big plus. It is very buildable, easy to blend out, and simple to correct if you accidentally apply too much. The result is even and stays looking nice all day, especially on the cheeks where it stays put like a rock. One small thing: I find that it can disappear a bit faster on the forehead if I sweat. But honestly, that’s probably more because I don’t set it properly with powder or use fixing spray, so it’s more about my technique than the product. However, I would have wished for more shades, as the range feels a bit limited and not entirely inclusive. In summary: a really great bronzer that is easy to use and gives a beautiful result. Here are my thoughts after trying it out: Formulation & Pigment • Pigmentation: Really good color payoff overall. • Finish: A perfect blend of matte shadows and shimmer/glitter. The formulation feels consistent throughout the palette. • Favorite: The silver shadow is absolutely amazing – perfect for a bold silver look! My best application tips 💡 To get the most out of the glittery shadows and minimize fallout: 1. Tool: Use your fingertip or a damp, flat brush to make the glitter really "pop". 2. @inglot Duraline: Want extra intensity? Mix with a drop of Duraline. 3. Base: Apply on a sticky base (eyeshadow primers or concealer work great) for best results. It’s also very easy to do a cut crease on top of the base! 4. @LHcosmetics Sparkl: To avoid fallout on the cheeks, you can "set" the shadow with a liquid glitter product (e.g., LH Cosmetics Sparkl). Any downsides? The only negative is that there is some "kickback" (powder flying up) in the pan when dipping the brush, but that doesn’t bother me personally since the result on the eye is so good. As a make up artist i seldom use such eyeshadow sticks as a final make up product, but often use it as a make up base. When it comes to this eyeshadow stick from Make up store i actually have been pleasantly surprised and can recommend it to everyone who wants quick and easy make up, both for day and evening.
