Hydro Grip Gel Tint 7 - Medium, neutral

It's absolutely amazing to be part of the #lykotestpilot team testing the #milkmakeup foundation! I tested the Hydro Grip Gel Tint foundation in shade 7 – Medium, neutral. The foundation has a lightweight texture and leaves the skin with a natural, glowing finish. The result can be layered if desired, giving a more coverage look without a heavy feel. The product works great together with the primer from the same line – they complement each other beautifully and help the makeup stay beautiful all day. Shade 7 was a bit too dark for my skin, even though I chose it with self-tanner use in mind. I have dry skin and noticed that good hydration before applying the foundation clearly improves the smoothness of the final result and the longevity of the makeup. The result is radiant, dewy, and natural skin – an excellent choice, especially for those who appreciate a lightweight, hydrating foundation.

    Hydro Grip Primer

I had the pleasure of testing the #milkmakeup primer. I was a bit nervous before the first try, as I had heard many conflicting opinions about the product – especially that the makeup "rolled" on the skin seemed to be a challenge mentioned by many. I started by moisturizing my face thoroughly. After that, I warmed the primer between my fingers and gently patted it onto my skin. I let the product set for about a minute before applying foundation. The result was a light, glowing, and fresh makeup base! The primer feels really light on the skin and doesn’t cause any tightening sensation that some primers can bring. The makeup stays well throughout the day, and the skin retains a beautiful glow. I tried using the primer more generously once, but then it started to roll off even before applying foundation. So less is more – one pump is enough for the whole face. However, the primer is quite small compared to its price, so the price-quality ratio largely depends on your own expectations and needs. The primer gives the face a beautiful, natural glow and makes the makeup base look fresh – an excellent choice, especially for those who love lighter makeup. ☀️ #lykotestpilot

    Milk makeup hydro grip primer💚

As a #lykotestpilot, I tried the hydro grip primer from #milkmakeup🥰 As mentioned in a previous review, the hydro grip gel tint was too dark for my skin tone. Therefore, I tried the hydro grip primer under Nars Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, which are two of my favorite everyday/work foundation/base. I’m not someone who uses primer under makeup. I have a consistent skincare routine that is good for my skin and gives me glow, and I apply sunscreen before I use makeup. My impression of milk makeup's hydro grip primer was extremely good and it almost worked like a «glue» for the face in contact with the makeup. I found it a bit sticky, maybe because I already had sunscreen and skincare on. The makeup didn’t crease around my mouth and it actually gave me a nice glow throughout the day. I think the size is too small if you’re going to use it every time under makeup, 10 ml is fine to have as a travel buddy 💚 Very practical and luxurious packaging. I would definitely buy it, but in the largest packaging.

Milk Makeup Mini Hydro Grip Primer

I got to test #milkmakeup's products as a #lykotestpilot. I have been looking forward to trying this primer. The primer is gel-like in consistency and becomes sticky for a while after application. I applied it with my hands and I patted the primer onto my skin, which has worked best for me. I have used Milk's Hydro Grip Gel Tint with and without the primer, and I would say it holds better with the primer. You also get a glow. The primer has a pump, which I really like, and the packaging is nice. I think it's a well-functioning primer, but there are other options that do just as good a job at a lower cost.

A skincare product disguised as a primer 🍃

This product contains several of my absolute favorite skincare ingredients, including aloe vera, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and amino acids – as well as agave, hemp, and sweet cherry. It works both as an effective skincare product and an excellent base for makeup 🙏 I applied no skincare products beforehand and expected that the makeup might settle into lines – but I was wrong. The result pleasantly surprised me! I would highly recommend this in combination with Hydro Grip Gel Tint from the same brand. My skin feels well-hydrated, while the product provides a smooth and even base for further makeup application. It also gives a fantastic glow. This will undoubtedly be a staple in my summer makeup routine ☀️🫶 #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP

    My glass of milk 🥛

I had high expectations for this product – and it did not disappoint at all 🤩 Hyaluronic acid and niacinamide are two of my absolute favorite ingredients in skincare, so it's a big plus that this makeup product contains both. I applied the product with a beauty blender by gently pressing it into the skin. It's important to avoid dragging the product around the face, as it can negatively affect the result. By pushing it in with a sponge, you get a smoother and more natural finish. The result is a lovely glow that melts seamlessly into the skin. The product provides light coverage and leaves the skin looking healthy, fresh, and radiant. This will undoubtedly be a favorite in my makeup routine this summer ☀️🫶 #lykotestpilot #milkmakeup

Milk makeup hydro grip gel tint💙

I had the honor of being a #lykotestpilot and got to test #milkmakeup's new products😍 Packaging: The packaging was very nice, luxurious, and contains a lot of product. However, my tube leaks every time I open it without pressing, and it can get very messy. Usage: I have used both cream products and powder in the base, and I think it blends nicely with the tint and doesn't get patchy at all. The base doesn't get cakey or dry, but rather the opposite. I used a brush to apply as I want a bit more coverage. Color/shade: I think the shade I chose was too dark for me, but it didn't look as dark on my face when I applied concealer. + a lot of glow + light on the skin + blends very nicely with other products + not drying - packaging leaks - doesn't last very long - quite expensive for a tint I like the tint and will continue to use it going forward as it gives a lot of glow and brightens up the face. It works well now for summer for a nice glow and a light base! Shade: 4 : light, neutral to warm Rating: 3.5/5

  • A light gel tint for summer, but…

I had the pleasure of testing two products from MILK Makeup – Hydro Grip Primer and Hydro Grip Gel Tint. Here is my honest review after using both products for an extended period. The Hydro Grip Gel Tint has a super light and pleasant consistency that feels fresh on the skin – perfect for you if you usually don’t like foundation. 🪼It is fragrance-free and provides a light coverage that can be built up as needed. I usually don’t use foundation because I find it quickly feels heavy and clogging, but this gel tint is a really good alternative – especially here in the summer period.🌞 Unfortunately, I have experienced some challenges. It tends to oxidize, which means the color changes and takes on a more yellow/orange tone on the skin after a while. 😏 Additionally, it also easily peels off if not applied correctly – just like with the primer, it’s important to dab the product into the skin and not rub.🫠 Pros: * ✅Light and fresh consistency * ✅Fragrance-free * ✅Light to medium coverage – and can be built up * ✅Perfect for you if you’re not into heavy foundations – especially in the summer heat Cons: * 🛑Peels off easily from the skin with incorrect application * 🛑Oxidizes quite a bit – takes on a slightly yellow/orange tone after some time ☝️Tips for use: Just like with the primer: Dab the product into the skin – don’t rub! You might want to choose a lighter shade, as it gets a bit darker after you’ve had it on for a while. A good idea in theory, but with some technical challenges in practice.🫶🏼 #lykotestpilot #milkmakeup #geltint #skintint

  • Smooth makeup-base

I had the pleasure of testing two products from MILK Makeup – Hydro Grip Primer and Hydro Grip Gel Tint. Here is my honest review after using both products for an extended period. I am generally very satisfied with MILK Makeup’s Hydro Grip Primer. The first thing I noticed was the lightweight consistency – it doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. A big plus is also that it is fragrance-free, which I really appreciate. 🩵🧴 After application, I found that it smooths the skin nicely and makes the pores less visible, providing a great base for makeup. However, it’s important to apply it correctly. Pros: * ✅Super light and comfortable consistency * ✅Fragrance-free – perfect for sensitive skin * ✅Smooths pores and provides a great foundation for makeup Cons:🙃 * Can peel off the skin if not applied correctly Tips for use: ☝️ Apply with dabbing motions and wait 1-2 minutes before applying makeup on top. It makes a huge difference for the result! All in all, it’s a primer I would definitely recommend, especially for those who want a smooth and long-lasting makeup base – as long as you follow the application instructions. #lykotestpilot #milkmakeup #primer

    A fresh addition 🍃

For someone used to silicone blurring primers, this was a fresh addition to the makeup bag. It gives a hint of glow, evens out, sits nicely on the skin, and is a bit STICKY. MEEEN that's the whole point for the makeup to stay better. 😄 Even though the makeup should stay better with this, I think 12 hours is unrealistic to expect a primer to keep the makeup looking nice. After just 2 hours, the makeup started to show in the smile lines, and after about 8 hours, I was a bit patchy in some areas. And that was without putting any extra makeup over than the Skin tint in the same series. With ingredients like Hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and blue agave extract, this gives me an extra step of hydration, something I appreciate before putting on makeup. I will use this alone or with a lighter tint going forward as I think it worked best for me. 😊 #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP

LIGHT, GLOW and 12-hour wear? Let’s see shall we! 🕵✨

My skin/base: normal to dry, sensitive and can easily get a bit reddish in the skin and around the nose. I’ve heard A LOT about this product and was sold when the product was described with the words LIGHT, GLOW and 12-hour wear. It’s perfect for summer, right? I tested with high expectations. 🥹 🍃LIGHT.. Describing the product as light doesn’t feel quite right. It’s more thick in consistency, but with the words GRIP in it, it makes sense that there should be more consistency to work with. A bit like the feeling of a thicker sunscreen if that makes sense? 🤔 When it comes to coverage, the description LIGHT fits much better. With a thin veil of color, the skin shines through, giving a more natural finish. We can like that when summer is just around the corner and you want - I just came from the beach and have lived my best life vibes. ☀️🌊 GLOW, on the other hand, is something it delivers well on. ✨Nice and natural glow without the help of shimmer. Here, it’s the moisture that gets to shine. Got to love makeup that delivers on both finish and care. 🤌 5 out of 5! DID IT LAST 12 HOURS? Well… No, not really, but I didn’t expect that in the sun and 20 degrees. Unfortunately, it settled a bit in lines around the mouth and nose, and got a bit patchy in some areas after 8 hours. A tint that lasts 12 hours without the help of other products like e.g. powder and setting spray is something you’ll probably be looking for a long time. I’m still on the hunt🕵🏼‍♀️, but I would probably use a good setting spray over a tint like this rather than using one that sat like a shot for 12 hours but felt dry on the skin. Sooooo worth it and summer’s go to? Well.. I’m a bit torn.. I LOVE🤩 that it combines caring ingredients with a hint of color. It gives a lot of glow and a very natural finish. Since the skin gets to shine through, you can decide whether you want to cover more with a concealer or build up with the tint. The only negative in my eyes is the consistency and how it feels on the skin. I wish it was a bit lighter in consistency, because for someone with dry/normal skin, it still feels a bit too thick now that the heat is coming. (Sweaty Bart emoji 😅) . Otherwise very satisfied! I give it a rating of 5👏 #lykotestpilot #milkmakeup

Milk makeup hydro grip gel tint💙

I have been so lucky to receive a package with #milkmakeup products as a #lykotestpilot😍 Unfortunately, the shade of the gel tint was 2-3 shades too dark for me. I will still try it out in the summer as I will likely get darker in skin tone. I tried the gel tint on my hand, and aside from it being too dark for me, I think it had a very runny and hydrating quality that could be good for some and not for others. Since the product is a gel tint, it doesn't have the same function as a full-coverage foundation. Based on that, I think it is absolutely nice in consistency both considering that it is so light and that it contains hyaluronic acid and niacinamide (which evens out skin tone and helps with clogged pores). The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and luxurious, gives me summer and beach vibes😍 Free from fragrance, which is a plus. I will post a new review when my skin tone matches the shade of the gel tint🦋

    Luxurious but not completely flawless

I tested the Milk Hydro Grip Primer long before I became a #lykotestpilot for #milkmakeup, so I already knew what to expect. A big advantage is that you don’t need to use much – a small dab is enough, which is a plus considering the high price. But for me, it has a pretty big downside: it doesn’t work at all with my Becca Eye Brightening Corrector or NARS concealer – the products slide or apply unevenly. That’s a dealbreaker for me, as those two new additions are staples in my makeup routine. On the other hand, it has worked without issues with most foundations I’ve tested, *except* for Milk Makeup’s own Hydro Grip Tint – it didn’t stick at all on my nose and chin (I have a separate review on that if you want to know more). In summary: a primer that does a lot right and feels luxurious, but considering the price and some combination issues, I think there are other options that give just as nice results – at a lower cost.

Not really my cup of milk

I had the honor of being a #lykotestpilot and testing products from #milkmakeup – how fun?! I have acne-prone skin and recently finished an iso-course, which has made my skin a classic combination skin that requires a lot of moisture everywhere. At first, I was a bit hesitant… Milk tends to be a bit on the oily side, and I wasn't entirely sure if the product would feel light and nice on the skin. The packaging? Super pretty to look at – I love the blue color, it really pops in the makeup bag! But unfortunately, it only gets 2/10 from me. It leaked no matter how I stored it, and I had to rescue product that had run out onto my hand or in the lid several times. Feels so-so. When applying, I ran into some problems, especially with getting it to adhere evenly on my nose and chin. Even though I let all my skincare sink in properly, it didn't always want to cooperate. One trick that sometimes helped is to put a thin layer of powder on top of the primer (Hydro Grip), but it's super important not to overdo the primer – a small dab goes a long way! ✨ Unfortunately, it creased under my eyes and on my eyelids (could be me not having nailed the technique yet), and together with my NARS concealer, it didn't work at all – it turned into little "sausages". Positives then? Yes, it's easy to build up! Start with a little and work your way up to the desired coverage – otherwise, there's a risk it will look cakey. It feels a bit thick right at application, but that feeling disappears quickly, and then it actually feels like you have nothing on your skin at all. Big plus: it doesn't oxidize significantly! So, what do I think? Unfortunately, it didn't become a new favorite for me. It requires a bit too much fuss to fit into my everyday life. BUT – if you're used to working with products that crease and like to tweak your base routine, it could definitely be worth a try! A bit of mixed feelings, but fun to have tested it anyway! **+ pretty packaging easy to build up - oxidation panic** – creases easily – doesn't work with all concealers - the product leaks (The picture was taken after 6 hours!)

    In-Between Roll

I usually don't use primer under my makeup, but now I had the chance to test the super popular MILK Hydro Grip Primer. I like that the product is silicone-free, and the gel-like consistency provided lovely extra moisture under the makeup. I personally have dry skin, so extra moisture is always welcome! I also want to give a plus for the product's fragrance-free quality. As you can see from the picture, the primer has strong hold! The cork even stayed stuck to my cheek 😂 The makeup didn't move off my face throughout the day, as the product promised... at least when used correctly. The primer worked best with the Milk Hydro Gel tint, but with my matte Clarins foundation, the result was... pretty horror... 😱 The makeup rolled off heavily and didn't spread evenly over the primer. I suspect this was due to either A. not letting the face cream absorb properly before applying the primer and foundation B. my foundation being old or its matte consistency not being compatible with the primer C. applying too thick a layer of primer... I don't know. However, with the Milk Hydro Grip Gel Tint, the product worked well. #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP

Hi Heidi, Thank you for your lovely review – great to hear! 😍✨ This is one of my own favorites too. As you mentioned, it’s really important for the result to let the base products absorb properly and to wait at least a minute after applying the primer before adding foundation 🙏🏻 Matte foundations can sometimes be a bit more challenging with primers, but it’s great to hear that another one of your foundations works seamlessly with this! From my experience, for example, Lumene’s CC cream and Maybelline New York’s Superstay 24H Skin Tint also work well with this primer. Have a lovely day! 🩷

Hydro Grip Gel Tint - Shade 12

I have been looking for a tinted cream or similar product for a long time. I didn't really have any expectations about which brand it would be, except that it should have a good price-quality ratio. Before writing the review, I had used the product a couple of times. I think the shade was just right - not too dark, but not too light either - gives a slightly tanned look and doesn't dry out the skin at all since my skin dries quite quickly. It's not very covering, for example, acne scars are somewhat visible. However, it balances the skin tone, even though there are pigment spots (and gives glow🌟). The product is also lightweight, which is good since my skin doesn't tolerate particularly thick products. Versatile product, as I also used this as a bronzer at some point and it looked pretty good! The only downside for me was how small the packaging is, but I would definitely buy it with my own money since the small amount can cover the whole face. #lykotestpilot #milkmakeup

    Moisturizing and Gentle

I have naturally sensitive, dry, and freckled skin. That's why it's important that the products I use don't dry my skin out further or burn. 🤍 The primer successfully moisturized and prepped my skin for foundation use. The product could be visually more rustic romantic, as the brand name reminds me of an eloveen girl in a rural landscape. Here’s a picture of my face when I used this primer and also the gel tint from the same brand. #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP

For tanned skin - light, but not featherlight

The first impression of Milk Makeup was conflicting, but interesting. The packaging looked stylish and modern, the metallic blue shade gave them a luxurious hue. Still, the brand name evoked a completely different image – something soft, natural, and rustic romantic, like a fairy girl in a summer meadow. I would have liked the appearance to reflect more of this gentle and organic vibe. On the skin, the foundation feels light but sufficiently covering. It glides on beautifully and leaves a radiant, natural glow without a greasy finish. Excellent base for building other makeup on. I have freckled skin and moles on my face. It’s important to me that the foundation looks as natural as possible on my skin and doesn’t cover my freckles. This foundation doesn’t cover the freckles, and your naturalness gets to shine! It doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin, and the skin can breathe. This product is great for tanned skin – it gives the perfect glow for a summer evening when heading out to the city after lounging on the beach. It’s easy to use, and a small amount of product is enough! #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP

    Exciting!

As a #LYKOTESTPILOT, I got the chance to try #MILKMAKEUP’s hydro grip primer! Here are my opinions😍: + Convenient packaging with pump💖 + No strong scent🌷 + Super sticky!! Almost like glue😍 - High price and I don’t think it’s WOW enough for that price unfortunately! - I don’t think my skin reacted well to it. I tried the primer together with Milks Hydro Grip Gel Tint, but also with the foundation I usually use daily to give the primer a fair chance (hard to know when testing several new things at once😅) I found that the makeup held well, but not any extreme difference that I would have hoped for this price😕

    Always in my bathroom cabinet

#LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP I have been familiar with this product for a few years now, and it is my absolute favorite primer that is always in my bathroom cabinet! The product can be used in more ways than just a primer to give glow and moisture. I personally have applied it to dry areas like nostrils and cheeks that often get cold during the winter, to lock in day cream but still add moisture to the skin. Sometimes when I have felt dull in my skin, I have been able to apply it as a highlighter to enhance and give a bit of radiance to dry and gray skin. Primarily, I use it as a primer and I use it under various foundations and concealers as it works well with most brands. The secret is to let it sink in really well, give it at least 3-5 minutes and not use a full pump, as you don’t need that. As I mentioned earlier, it gives glow, hydrates, and keeps the makeup in place until you take it off. I have tested wearing it from early morning to late nights and the makeup hasn’t budged. PS, together with Hydro Grip Makeup Setting Spray, your skin will shine from kilometers away! #MILKMAKEUP

    My new favorite!

Darlings! I had the opportunity to test this product through #LYKOTESTPILOT #MILKMAKEUP I have dry skin and have some pigmentation that I would like to cover! I am extremely satisfied with the product as it requires a small amount that covers the entire face. If you want more coverage, it builds up nicely without any issues. I have tested working the product in with my fingers, beauty blender brush AND powder puff, and all have worked well! It covers my pigmentation with a small layer the size of a pea, and it’s possible to both shower and bathe with the product without it running off the face. I will use this product frequently as it withstands water, sweat, and stays on the face all day. I have used shade no. 11 and could easily use no. 10 as well. Number 11 will be perfect in summer as it will get warm and makeup will want to run off the face. The consistency is quite thick, so don’t be fooled into thinking you need more because of the consistency. A little tip is to let the product sink in for about 3-5 minutes before you build it up or go in with the next product. Another plus is that you get such an incredibly nice glow and the skin feels fresh and hydrated. An extra bonus is that it comes in a tube that can be cut open when the product is running low. It is worth the hype, and I think this product is revolutionary, go #MILKMAKEUP tiktok.com/@idalipikaa/video/7498799375439645974?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7465005194867164694

Moisturizes skin & evens out its tone

In the top picture, my skin is before Gel Tint. In the bottom picture, my skin is with Gel Tint. Package: An attractive-looking tube! 💙 The visibility of the foundation through the letters is a fun detail, as it shows how much product is left. The cap/dispenser was not my favorite, as the pressure caused the product to squirt out when opened. I feel that this made the use of the product messier. I prefer tubes with a pump mechanism. That way, the pressure doesn't push the product out. Shade: My skin is light with a yellow undertone, which is why I chose shade 4 - light and neutral to warm. Gel Tint applied smoothly to my skin, so there was no makeup line between my neck and face, wow! Additionally, I have slightly redder spots on my nose, which Gel Tint naturally evened out :) User experience: I like that makeup products combine the benefits of skincare! The foundation wonderfully moisturized my skin and didn't feel heavy at all. I also give plus points for being fragrance-free (my skin is dry and sensitive)! The product evened out my skin tone and gave a glow. However, since I'm used to thick BB creams, this product is a bit too light in texture/coverage for me. The product is still very brightening and does what it promises. I recommend it to those who prefer a lighter texture and a more subtle/gradual coverage. Ps. Hydro Grip Primer under this product provided wonderful extra moisture to my face, and with it, the makeup stayed fresher 🫶🏻 #LYKOTESTPILOT #milkmakeup

    Maybe better for someone else

I was a bit disappointed with the product, as it left my skin sticky and not soft at all. The scent is really nice, so that's a plus. I think it would work better on damp skin, contrary to the instructions. The application of the self-tanner went well nonetheless! [emoji] #LYKOTESTPILOT #LYKOREVIEW
