Batiste vs K18
After trying these two dry shampoos, I will go back to Batiste. The main reason is the price and the spray applicator. The biggest downside of Batiste is that it sometimes makes my scalp itch, but I can live with that since it also helps me with my hair color. Absolutely does its job when it comes to making hair look less greasy and freshening it up between washes. However, in my opinion, it doesn’t quite live up to the hype. Many describe the feeling as if the hair is freshly washed, but I don’t agree. I can still feel that I have dry shampoo in my hair, which is something I really dislike. I’ve also noticed that it can leave white spots if you’re not careful, which is a shame considering the price. For almost 600 kronor, I expected a product that is completely invisible in the hair and gives an even better result. I actually think Batiste does pretty much the same job when it comes to removing the greasy feeling and giving the hair a fresher look but at a fraction of the price. However, K18 is probably a better option for the hair in the long run, as it has a greater focus on hair health and uses a gentler formula. It’s a good dry shampoo that effectively removes greasy hair, but not good enough to justify the high price. Previously used another detox shampoo, which I wasn’t completely satisfied with because I had to use so much product and didn’t feel it did much. Products make a difference
Lately, my hair has been breaking a lot due to too strong bleaching/highlighting :( In the gym locker room, I looked at my ponytail and was shocked at how dry, broken, and lifeless it looked! So I decided that now I need to invest in hair products again to stop the breakage and make my hair look lively again. The before and after pictures were taken on the same day, can you believe it! 1. I washed my hair with K18’s deep cleansing shampoo to remove all heavy product residues and accumulated metals/minerals from my hair. 2. I applied the fragrance-free hair mask from the Finnish brand Sim Sensitive DS, which is seriously good! You could tell from the texture that it would do good for the hair. I let it sit for at least 10 minutes. 3. My favorite conditioner <3 Redken’s acidic color gloss. My coarse hair needs a thick conditioner that really moisturizes and makes the hair smooth + shiny. Many of Redken’s lines are great for this. 4. Then almost the most important thing, the leave-in conditioner! The job of the leave-in conditioner is to lock in all the benefits of the hair care products applied in the shower. The product itself also adds extra moisture, shine, and most importantly protects the hair and prevents breakage. Also, Redken’s all soft moisture restore leave-in conditioner contains heat protection and smells absolutely wonderful. Good buy! 5. Then I blow-dried my hair and finished with Kerastase glaze drops hair oil… Such an amazing result! I have only tried the product once so far, but it had an immediate effect on my blonde hair. If I don’t use cleansing shampoo and purple shampoo for a couple of washes, the hair gets a noticeably yellow/orange tint and generally looks darker. After one wash with this, the hair looks completely fresh, clean, and cool again, without leaving the hair grayish. I like the idea that this is both cleansing shampoo and purple shampoo in one. Easy to apply – shake the bottle well and take a couple of pumps of foam in your hands before applying it all over the hair. I only needed 2 pumps to cover all my hair. Very good consistency and easy to spread when it’s foam – I especially liked that! I’m going to the hairdresser to freshen up my highlights this week and am curious how the product will behave in the hair afterwards. Travel day and today I'm prepping my hair with K18. 9 days in sun and saltwater and I'm not the type to keep my hair above the water; here we dive!!🐠🐬🦈 Two hours a day underwater and then swimming on top of that. I think I might have tested all the cleansing shampoos on the market worth testing, and none compare to this one. It costs a bit, but is very economical in use. I usually use this for 2 rounds when I first use it, but you only need a pea-sized amount to cover the entire scalp (avoiding the lengths). It smells very clean and neutral, if you ask me. Some cleansing shampoos can make the hair very difficult to work with (including Kevin Murphy's), and you often have to finish with another shampoo, but that's really not necessary with this one. The hair is still manageable and not dry. I use the product about once a week in two rounds so it lathers properly. In addition to cleansing the scalp of grime and dirt, it also neutralizes the color tones in my hair, which is highlighted and bleached blonde. In combination with a good silver shampoo every now and then, the color becomes very even and cool. Highly recommended, will buy again and again.
